Watching Dier in the holding role reminds me of when Jones played there.

A good Carrick? If he ends up as good as Michael Carrick was in his prime then he will do very well for himself burnley, the fact his passing will never be knowhere near as good as carricks makes that task very difficult for him.

No but his driving forward after retaining the ball is more impressive then a Carrick backpass from an interception! Also he seems to be a better set piece taker, I'm also sure he probably has a decent passing range somewhere in his locker.
IMO a lot better than Matic. Lol I just hate Matic and hate how we've been linked to him since Mourinho taking charge though Matic for me is a big reason why Chelsea didn't perform and loSt out on the season as a whole.
