Well Rashford on last night, rises don't come more meteoric than his. However I don't want to rain on England's parade but this was only Australia. I know people saying Rooney and Rash scored so we don't need Zlatan, Peter Crouch scored umpteen goals against jobber opposition let's not get carried away with saying we don't need to sign a striker now cz we do need that strength in depth there I'd say and it's more about the talismanic figure Zlatan is along with the fact he will be class and score goals that United could do with a infection of. It doesn't mean Rashford has to step aside but this is a squad game and neither player will play every single game across 4 competitions. One injury to Rashford then what happens we're in the same situation we was criticising LVG for, not having enough forwards, no brainer on a free for a year for me.

{Ed001's Note - actually it wasn't Australia, it was a second string Australia, as about 8 or 9 players were not available to them due to playing in Asia. So they were only half strength, at best.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Was it really, not much of a test then. How do you see England faring in the euros Ed? I know I've just took the mick a little there but it's an exciting England team this time I think potentially.

{Ed001's Note - not sure it is all that exciting when it is managed by Hodgson. They will grind out a few results and go out nice and early as usual.}

Haha, not much faith then Ed, I do agree Roy hardly sets the world alight. Will be interesting when they play Gareth Bale 😂.

{Ed001's Note - I have no faith in Hodgson, I have suffered his ineptitude as a manager of my team, remember? Terrible football.}

28 May 2016 08:49:08
Oh yes I do remember, my sympathies Ed. Who would you like as England manager? Is he standing down after the tournament?

{Ed001's Note - it is expected he will leave afterwards. I am not bothered about England, to be honest. I don't know who I would appoint, no one really stands out for me.}

I have to say I don't really watch international football, much prefer club football, I'll watch Wales simply because we never get where we are but if it wasn't for them I doubt I'd watch much of the tournament at all.

{Ed001's Note - I don't like international footie either, if it wasn't for the sites, I would never watch it any more. It bores me to tears.}

Roll on the pre season tours and the league campaign I say haha.

We could be in the position of right team/ squad but wrong manager with England.
If not Roy who realistically is there to maximise the abilities of the young squad.

Most international games are boring fixtures against mismatched teams, and the ones that are important are frequently dull cagey affairs.

You obviously haven't been at Windsor Park recently, Shawthing :)

Wales v Northern Ireland final, fancy a flutter Noucamp?

28 May 2016 15:37:33
What's the odds on that? About 3/ 1, I reckon. Hardly worth it, mate. Stick England in, instead of Wales, and you'll get better odds :)

Haha yeah well the rank outsiders aren't they 😋.
