Very pleased with the signing of Jose as our new manager. I have no doubt that we will be playing a different style of football from the past few seasons but also I think we'll be playing a different style to what we're used to seeing from Mourinho's sides in the past. I think we'll see this hopefully in his signings first of all. The only things I worry slightly about is the way Chelsea surround the referee. I can't stand that and don't want to ever see that at our great club! All in all very pleased with our new manager!

You mean like we did to Andy D'Urso a few years back when he gave a penalty and like Rooney does every week?

Yes, Roy Keane would be appalled at the idea, and Wayne certainly wouldn’t do that. It is a sign of competitiveness and if Jose gets that back to the side, I’d put up with it.

I was actually thinking about that last night, we are one of the most civilised team in pl and never see players surrounding the ref, i would actually like to see a little bit more passion from the players when one of their team mates is put to the sword but not what Chelsea players do.

In all fairness that's for the FA to stamp out. They are too soft on that side of the game. There is too much I'll discipline within the game. Until they get a proper hold on thag it will continue.

It's been said for years but they really should take a leaf out of the rugby union book. Nobody can challenge the ref, if they do then they are off and subsequently banned.

It would also make the refs job easier.

That starts with your manager, tho. Fergie was such a combustible character on the touchline, instilling that, 'everyone hates us' mentality in the team, that they acted as one.

LVG, with his emotionless doodling, was never going to inspire his players to act in that way.

I'm not saying I condone surrounding the ref, but every once in a while, it's nice to see the team find a common cause to rally round and have each other's backs.

Thought it was fairly indicting that it was Jesse Lindgard, a local lad, who was the only one to react in a game during the season, to protect his team-mate. It seemed like an afterthought to the others.

Starts with the FA Noucamp.

Angel, I meant in putting out a team in a manager's own image. It's no coincidence that both Chelsea and Utd, under Jose and Fergie respectively, were regularly the teams that had a bit of a snarling image, and our team over the last few seasons has looked as limp and lifeless as LVG.

{Ed025's Note - oh for a roy keane noucamp..despicable human being but what a great footballer..

Haha GDS. love the idea of Rooney single handedly surrounding the Ref, Anderson could also pull that trick. Maybe Bastian too ;)

27 May 2016 13:19:31
Ed025m, totally agree. Although I think he would have been sacked by now, either for giving out too many rollickings over the last two seasons, pushed to the limit by some of the most insipid performances I've seen in players wearing the red shirt, or for lamping LVG.

And he's an animal lover, so he does have one redeeming quality as a person :)

{Ed025's Note - dont know about the lover bit noucamp...but certainly an animal mate.. :)

Yes maybe one or two players have surrounded the ref on few occasions but I mean I don't want to see Smalling running 150yrds to join the other 9 outfield players every time there's a foul just like John terry and the rest of his team did at least 6/ 7 times a game!

Scottish,

I think that is just John Terry, he has done it under every manager not just Jose, horrible man.
