Did anyone watch Antonio Valencia against Argentina? leaves me wondering what he could do if we had a high paced tempo to our game. still remember his best games under SAF

He has never been the same player since his injury he is scared to take people on like he used to whether this is down to being scared of getting a bad tackle again is anybodies guess but it's a shame

In Valencia's defence if he did take on his man over recent years he would just be left with one man in the box, who was normally static being covered by 3 defenders. Teams can double up now on either winger as we have been seeing all season with Depay so it is hard for one trick ponies like Valencia to beat two men.
He is probably under instructions to cut back, or explains why he used to do his stupid fire it across the box at 100mph.
His best seasons were when we attacked in numbers and at pace, our play is too slow now which is why he looks so uncomfortable on the ball.

Fair assessment Beast. i miss our counter attacking football, the way he ran the argentina defense for their second was like watching Usain Bolt.
