I posted yesterday about Hernandez potentially heading to Athletico Madrid, but it didn’t get posted. Now one of English papers is reporting it (can’t remember which one it was), also Fox Sports. I suspect both are following the original Facebook rumour I spotted.
But it got me thinking. If he were to go to Athletico Madrid, could he be used in a player exchange deal? I realise player exchanges don’t happen often, but they are a bit of a media favourite at the moment i.e.: Ramos / De Gea
So, who would you take from Athletico Madrid?
1. Oblak? The papers have linked us with him. I don’t know much about him. Is he any good?
2. Miranda? Again the papers have linked us with him, not so much this summer. I reckon he is too old.
3. Koke? Quality player, but Chelsea seem to be sniffing around. Has he signed a new contract?
4. Griezman? Would probably cost a small fortune. Bayern is probably his most likely destination.
Is there anyone else? Is there any chance of any of them coming? (preferably either of Koke or Griezman)

Not that I think it would happen but Godin is obviously a beast and there is a young defender Giminez or Jiminez who I think will be a real star. Also Saul Niguez in midfield is a top talent.
Some real good players at Atletico at the moment .

I don't rate Miranda and am not a huge fan of Godin. Not sure why, there's just something that puts me off.
I'd happily see Koke come in, and Griezmann, maybe even Juanfran.
Atletico are a strange one, they aren't a great team of individuals, but they are a great team.

Does anyone else think the Manzukic sale was pretty cheap? I don't rate him that highly, it just surprises me how little he went for £13m I read! Italian teams don't half get some bargains.

Miranda just went to Inter Milan. Fresh, good point about what a great team they are. Definitely more than the sum of their parts.

I get the feeling that the two compliment each other so well and that is why they are so good. I think each on their own would be lacking in something.

I hadn't considered Godin.
Fresh, good shout on the "better then the sum of their parts". That is definitely the case.
Simone has definitely built a powerful team.
