Just heard about we are working on extending young's contract for further three years . As much i have loved his game this season, he is on ridiculous wage which he does not deserve at all. We have several better players on the line of 60 - 80 k a week and there is young on 120k making him one of our highest earners . I honestly have no idea how SAF offered him such a huge wage then. I would definitely love him to extend his contract but only if he chooses to have a massive pay cut, maybe around 70k a week so that our wages barrier can be further reduced to include top stars which we may likely buy in summer ( bale hopefully ) . Since there are lots of better wingers out there than young i would happily offload him if he still demands such high wages as this is the only season where he has performed well giving us garbage seasons before

I get the impression that he will accept 70k, that would be fair wages.

Why the hell would he choose to have a massive pay cut? It doesn't really affect you what players earn so I wouldn't bother yourself with it, he has been a key player for us this year, really got his head down and worked hard to be the player we all knew he could be.

To be fair if he gets a 3 year deal then I think he will take a pay cut. Most clubs these days operate on a if your over 30 years old then you will only get a one year contract. It would be too risky for Ashley to pen a one year deal as he might not be as good next year or the year after so he might not get anything near his current wage.
He seems settled at the club and is favourite in the dressing room so I think if the club offer him a 3 year take it or leave it deal on lesser terms he will agree to it.

I agree about young being one of our better players this season but you must have to agree that he is nowhere 120k player. Even though its not my money i do have a concern for it because as we are in FFP investigation under wages breach, it would be very good to clear out much wages as possible to include possible top players we are planning to recruit . Morever he may not be same next season which will make it more difficult to offload him if he is in such high wages

we slashed are wages massively in the summer so can't see why we would be under investigation.

Young's performances this season have been massively overrated. Yes he has worked hard and slightly improved from absolute trash but I think he only has 1 goal and 1 assist. Thoses stats are poor for any outfield player no matter what the position. If a decent offer comes in during the summer we should take it as Nani has always been twice the player young has every been.
