Why the delay?
1. No CEO or DOF in place yet. Do INEOS and the Glazers twant to preempt their new management team? Maybe Berada/ Ashworth would consider ETH, with proficient scouting and recruiting behind him, as good a candidate as any to take the club forward. Guardiola was highly complimentary, maybe Berada feels the same.
2. If compensation has to be paid to either ETH and/ or Newcastle for Ashworth does the timing make a substantive difference to the club's FFP position (or whatever they're calling it now) .
3. In any event, with only 1 year left on his contract, even if ETH is staying, there may need to be renegotiation regarding a possible extension and a change in his responsibilities. The club cannot afford to waste enormous sums of money on the Antonys of this world, and needs to somehow reduce the number of injuries.

You would have thought as soon as Berrera was talking to Ineos that his opinion on the manager would have been given, so it’s probably a waiting game until July when the new season starts. If they were to carry on with Ten Hag it would be known by now.

Shawthing, according to some on here he's known he is going for ages though ?
I think they are unsure.
If he does stay, I'd imagine they'd want to give him another year or two, with different terms. Otherwise, a year left, its pointless.
Just doesn't bode well for INEOS, with all this dithering.

I would have thought ETH has known for weeks. Why would he not? Which way though. .!

He has known they are taking to other managers since the beginning of April.
