International football really does suck the life out of this place, every time all we get is England are playing poorly ect ect.

English players aren't that good, they are overhyped and carried by their more talented collegues at club level.

We spend little no to no money or any effort on young players until they prove themselves to be exceptional.

Imagine the state of the country if schools only bothered to try educating youngsters once they have proven themselves to be exceptional.

Until we start trusting in education in football, and focusing on developing young players we will never have a competitve national team.

Also we get a brand new Rooney debate. For the record I'm one of Rooneys detractors, but I must say he has been one of Englands top performers, and he had a strong finish to the season in midfield for us.

Agree9 Disagree0

Lewandowski been poor muller ibra average pogba griezmann not been good .

But people seem to think our players are always average and these superstars never have a bad game.

Everyone has good and bad games, and at the end of a long hard season players can be forgiven for being tired and jaded.

But do you really think that for the amount of money invested into football in England and the resources available that the standard of players we produce is good enough?

We have had this convo before .

England produce good players at youth levels even tho our best young players are not always available.

The problem is they are not given a chance to play and progress for various reasons.

But look at linders, progressing well but everyone him out the team but he has had a chance to kick on .

Rashford, people would be happy if he sat on the bench if it meant we bought a superstar looking for one last payday .
He only got a chance due to injury in the first place which shows the talent that can't even get in to a epl squad .

Not sure what's going on with my phone *but look at linders, progressing well in his first year in uniteds first team, but everyone wants him out the team*
Buy a superstar who, when you watch week in week out in a different system and league maybe isn't as good as you think.

I actually think England have been pretty good in the euros.

22 Jun 2016 16:05:05
I think they have been ok as well.
No one I've seen have been amazing, great game last night tho.

Italy have been solid, Croatia looks good . Germany will make it to the semis and Spain will have a tough match against Italy.

We can expect any of the teams above to win the Euros although some haven't played to their potential but we cannot say the same about England because we haven't performed on the international level for many years.

Trumours. Basically England have caught the LVG disease that we have suffered from all season. Possession and no end product. Granted it has been more entertaining to watch. Sterling about sums it up for me. Runs round like a headless chicken. If he wants to lose the ball it would be much easier just to pass it to an opponent!
Like men with wind, its all fart and no result. I no longer am disappointed with England as they continue to dish up exactly what I have come to expect.

Tbf, in contrast to utd, while we are drawing we are looking to sttack and get that goal. With van gaal we looked to be happyto settle for a draw and create nothing. Obviously we could be better but i wouldn't count england out yet, until we see how we do againsta team who don't put 10 behind the ball.

22 Jun 2016 18:46:27
Trumours I agree as I said it has been more entertaining to watch.

22 Jun 2016 18:49:13
It is only because of Englands reputation.
