Gary Neville is having a nightmare with Valencia, and am not trying to bash the guy but I think he is learning quickly that being a good pundit doesn't make him a good coach.

I seem to remember a lot of posters saying they would prefer Gary over Giggs, I wonder if maybe they are reconsidering. Personally I want neither, I'd like an experienced but not too old coach to take over in the summer.

I hope Valencia starts to improve because the guy is a legend but the way things are going, I doubt he'll last the season.

{Ed033's Note - If i was Pep and had the choice between Man City, Chelsea and Man United, i'd pick Man United as they're a bigger club worldwide and because it's more of a challenge to prove myself.

Unfortunately ed033 I think he is City bound. I agree with what you said. In terms of managers what Fergie achieved, that is the challenge that every manager should try and replicate.

{Ed033's Note - It's possible Pep hasn't been asked about the united job, but at some point it would be nice to know whether he was offered it.

I hope pep thinks like you ed, and Gary Neville took a difficult first job in management, not easy going to Spain to take on a big club, language Barriers etc. maybe he should have took a job in England first, or stayed with sky for the rest of this season, won't be getting the United job anytime soon.

{Ed033's Note - Yes big challenge but i think the guy deserves credit for having the courage to take on something that was probably too much as if he failed it meant consequences for the future as he'd be seen as a failure.

Valencia as a club is a mess. I hope he can turn it around, but it's going to be a huge struggle.

With regards to G. Nev, he categorically stated when taking in the job it would be until the end of the season only and that afterwards his future lay in punditry rather than management. The general consensus was that he was helping out the main backer of Salford, who was in a bit of a difficult situation in regards to managers.

Now I believe he thought he had the ability to instil a consistency of winning in the Valencia side, and if achieved he would reevaluate his original career declarations. But as it stands he appears to only be there for the season and then back at Sky/ BT or the like.

Yes I hope he turns it around, not everyone one would have the courage to leave their soft job in sky and take on that challenge, he is a passionate man and has the will to win, best of luck to him.

Ed033 I think Pep doesn't like challenges, he likes "already made" teams.
