I have been very negative about Rooney for a few years but I just watched the recent documentary on him and it made me realise that he is just a simple guy that has achieved extraordinary things. This doesn't excuse his current form, but I feel like giving the guy a bit of a break.

He has earned it and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing his down to earth life, warmed the heart a bit. If you didn't watch it have a look if you can, worth an hour.

not been a bad player over the 11 years he has been a united .

should of been a united fan in the 70s 80s .

should a fan support a team during the bad times or a player .
ronaldo left and people love him, rooney stayed and held it against him

Jred,

Should have known that documentary would bring you back!

Just watched it myself, seems like such a down to Earth top bloke, actually makes me emotional watching him, he maybe hasn't reached the potential some expected of him but what a player he has been, I get there is no room for sentiment but the way people talk about him you can tell people like Neville and even Gerrard are so proud to know him.

Best quote for me was 'he brings everybody together, he's everybody's best mate' maybe some will realise why he is the captain of united and England now?

Love you Wazza :( . Anyone who remembers the CL QF second leg vs Bayern would understand what this game means to me. Beast is spot on, he is just the guy next door who achieved extraordinary things in life. Very likeable if you know him personally. Of course the press would usually paint a different picture. I hope he gets back his mojo. The abuse has been over the top. He is a United legend for me.

Deeps.
