Our signing of Martial, seems to me the same as City signing Sterling, just with less money up front, and with more add ons. Martial is exactly a year younger, so has one less year of league football, he Looks stronger and is taller than Sterling, both are lightning quick. French players usually adapt easily to the PL, so let's hope he does so too. I think he will be as successful for us as I am sure Sterling will be at City. The money for both is ridiculous, but as everyone always tells me, it's not our money. If he gets 15 goals this season, then averages 20-25 a season for the next 4 years, I think we will all be happy.

Spurs was going to buy him for 15 mill earlier in the summer, I love watching that lot from Salford mess up knowing that we have a far better forward line than you.

You have Coutinho, probably for this season only, and that is all you have that I, personally, would want, a one legged Sturridge isn't worth anything to us. We'll not talk about messing up transfers tho pal, too many names I could list from Liverpool, it's not worth my time.

I agree Brendan. Mighty Reds must have his head detatched from his shoulders. Our transfers are a joke.

I thought Spurs were told more and he has also singed new contract since then. I guarantee he scores more than Andy Caroll did. How much was he again

Your forward line is that great you have only scored two goals - tw.t!

01 Sep 2015 13:30:57
I find it strange that you seem to have set a target of 15 goals for this kid considering he has only scored 11/12 in his competitive career to date in around 50 appearances.

There are other perks to Sterling to consider. He has been a regular in the PL and he is English are two massive advantages.

Sterling will also be learning from some top quality attackers, Martial will be learning from a has been and a player not too dissimilar from himself if what I read is true. City attack, we defend. More pressure on our lad as well because he is needed more and we hardly create.

We desperately needed proven quality, I hope Martial does well and he is given time to adapt and learn, but we have a fight on our hands this season, we can't afford many more passengers and he may just be that.

Its called an estimate pal, and I'm going off the quality of players he will have around him, when it clicks, and it will click, compared to those at Monaco. I'd expect him to get 10+ in his first season will all our games. He's only 19, not a bad tally for him I don't think. He's not going to have scored 50 by now is he?

Beast I'm talking player for player, ability to ability, fee for fee. Team mates etc aren't anything to do with a player or his fee. I'm sure you'll find that over his contract length and beyond, the forwards he plays with will improve. I don't think Rooney will be here past next summer unless he improves hugely, for one. Then Martial will be Sterling's age now and with a year's PL experience under his belt.

Come on beast Has been? I can never understand that mentality. Ten years at our club countless games won by and if he hadn't 'held the club to ransom' would be undoubted legend. Older? yes. slower yes? Useless? no. Subject to form? Yes absolutely as all players bar the subhuman 2. being told to stay between the defenders take fewer touches , harder to feel his way into a game, So little chances created, so little movement around him. has been/ club to ransom. 2 dimensional judgements. He probably will suprise beast when the team gets going.
