Just a thought my friends, who in the premier league would be the equivalent to club brudge if any, in terms of as good as not style or are they a decent championship side

{Ed007's Note - Get off your high horse, Utd are in the CL after finishing 4th in theirsu league so I really don't think you should be looking down your nose at anyone at comparing them to Championship teams.
That Utd team tonight goes up against Madrid or Bayern and they'll get skelped. Brugge supporters will show how big a club they are over there. Myopic football snobbery is an ugly trait of the modern supporter -it's not all down to a willie showing competition.}

Agree3 Disagree1

I beg your pardon was it not a question as most aren't as big as the prem like the Scottish league, rather confusing how you felt the need to snap at a question as I only ask as I have no knowledge on the Belgium league jeez

{Ed007's Note - Who mentioned the Scottish league?}

19 Aug 2015 01:35:14
And where would mediocre Celtic finish in the prem just a thought

{Ed007's Note - Well they're in the same round as Utd in the CL which is what you oinked about, so what does that say about Utd? Where would Utd finish in the Spanish or German league, qualifying for the CL and you're not champions? Talk about scrimping and scraping and clinginging onto coat tails pffft.}

What a demeening statement Big Poppa Red. Brugge deserve to be in the competition as much as we do. It is not their fault they play in what is considered an inferior league and that Sky doesn't line their pockets with £billions of TV cash.

I have watched for years as these types of clubs have been belittled by supporters and when it comes to playing them on their own patch many clubs falter because they buy into the fan hype that they have a god given right to be better than these clubs just by turning up.

I remember for years in the CL Celtic and Rangers in Scotland would be looked down upon because they came into the competition via a two horsed ailing league and fans of certain clubs would underestimate them until it came to playing them on their own patch and then stage fright took over and 'star' players become overawed at the occasions. Don't underestimate nobdody in CL.

Moral of the story, show some respect.

My point is you keep mentioning we finished fourth but the only reason Celtic get champions league year after year is because they have no competition in there league, in terms of the German and Spanish league at the present we wouldn't win it but we would certainly be up there, I've always seen Rangers as the better team in Scotland anyway, and they will be back soon then God help you finishing 2nd in a awful league just my opinion

19 Aug 2015 02:21:37
Maze, I don't think Big Poppa was really thinking that deeply about this issue. Seemed an innocent enough question to me, from someone who readily admitted he didn't know anything about the standard of football in Belgium.

I appreciate it's hard to convey a way of asking something on a keyboard, as opposed to speaking to someone face to face, but some on here can be so quick to light on people for innocuous comments.

Ps. Bond, you'll not have to worry about Celtic qualifying next year anyway. The sheepshaggers are back! :)

Just as an aside if Celtic (or Rangers for that matter) were playing in the PL getting the same income as the PL clubs they would be challenging for the title in 3-5 years.

They both have guys at the club who would empty thier own pockets for success such as the way they are passionate about their club. They have fans who turn up in their droves week in week out for matches and who readily purchase merchandise.

There is a reason why the FA would never entertain letting these guys into the EPL.

{Ed001's Note - who do Celtic have at their club who would empty their own pockets for success? Their owners operate the club for profit.}

Thanks noucamp someone who understands what I mean so people are so up for arguing anything is made a issue

19 Aug 2015 07:07:54
Dermot Desmond is a miserable sod. He'd never put his own hand in his pocket

19 Aug 2015 07:12:22
How did Celtic come into this? It's almost as if BPR realised he had been slapped down in his first post and then tried to change the subject as Ed007 is a Celtic fan. Pathetic.

19 Aug 2015 09:11:28
Probably a Sunderland, so not quite championship.

19 Aug 2015 10:19:50
Thank you Brendan lol that's the sort of answer I was aiming for

19 Aug 2015 10:22:20
Ed 0001 why are some of my post not getting put up, am I doing something wrong I'm only putting my thoughts across cheers

{Ed001's Note - the only one that was deleted was a personal dig at another poster that had no relevance to anything other than being an attempt to cyber bully someone into shutting up.}

19 Aug 2015 10:59:30
Hahaha, fair play Brendan. Ignore all the nonsense above. I am quite surprised to see MAZE involved in an argument though.

19 Aug 2015 12:11:45
Why what did I say I said pathetic as the poster also put I'm no bully I'd love to know what I said wrong ed i feel I'm the one being cyber bullied just because I asked a question and was I not called pathetic in the first instance

{Ed001's Note - you were extremely condescending regarding an opposing team and then when it was pointed out you tried to get personal with your replies to Ed007 regarding the team he supports rather than make any kind of real point in response. Then your response to another poster was just a whole raft of personal insults and had nothing to do with the thread at all, just an attempt to have a dig. Instead of bitching at people who disagree with you, why don't you just make a case for your side of the argument?}

19 Aug 2015 01:40:43
Bond,

Love it, that's him told, get back under your rock.

19 Aug 2015 02:15:40
Maze I'm reacting to what 0007 as said, my first post was an honest question and the 0007 thought the need to bite at me saying United finished fourth, so does that make them as good as United or does it mean there league is slightly easy then ours, my point is if Chelsea arsenal man city United and brudge was in the same league would they finish top four, what I was trying to see is how good our performance actually was based on our competition but everyone seems to of overlooked my question

19 Aug 2015 13:01:46
Fair enough ed I'm not going to argue I just thought I got jumped on for a question that should of armed nobody but all the afters was banter I have a lot of family who are Celtic fans so used to having a crack at each other but if I've upset anyone I apologise

19 Aug 2015 05:13:47
In this day and age money is scarce in the Scottish game so I can understand why the likes of Lawwell and Desmond can't readily invest the way they want to but if they had the income of the PL clubs along with their fan base I have no doubt the club would spend and challenge.

Do you think they would compete if they got into the EPL Ed in your opinion?

{Ed007's Note - It's never going to happen and I don't want it to but I don't doubt that if Celtic were in the EPL they would be challenging for the title within five years and would become one of the top sports 'brands' around the world.}
