Does anyone else think that there should be new laws brought into football that are designed to curtail the power that football agents and the players they represent, now have in the game?

I cannot believe that just after a year of forking out a world record fee, the player in question is openly disrespecting the club and not fulfilling his contractual obligation to said club.
In any other form of employment, such things would not be tolerated; so why is it tolerated by the biggest sporting body on Earth?
Is it really a matter of having too many corrupt and perfidious characters in football?

I don't mean to rant constantly, but I am so fking annoyed by the actions of that goblin look alike. He should be training considering he is still employed by the club. I just hope he gets a massive fine; or better still, made to play in the reserves for a year. Yeah yeah, I know people said we can't do that and should cut our loses, but we are meant to be one of the biggest sporting clubs on the planet, and we are getting mugged off by that little rat, his agent, and that despicable no mark football club, PSG.

Rant over.

He should never again be left wear a United shirt, gave him the number 7 shirt and the manager doesn't know where he is,shocking, should be banned from football for a season, his wife might be happy then, put him in to a dressing room with Roy Keane for half an hour to teach him some manners

He is probably hiding under Laurent Blanc's dress, hence why that mug keeps telling everyone the deal is very close.

I think you mean British Record?

Try not to get so bothered, it's only football.

And it's not PSG's fault. All clubs are just as bad, us included.

It's really straightforward. There is a contract. I am sure the player will be obliged under it to perform to the best of his ability, as well as to attend all practices, matches etc etc, otherwise he will be in breach of it and subject to remedies either specified or to be determined by a court. Then there are also civil remedies for tortious interference where a 3rd party knowingly and willfully disrupts and/or undermines the economic benefit of a contract they know to be in existence. So, if United wish they can call a halt to all to this any time. They can come out and say both publicly and privately that Di Maria is not for sale, and they can threaten or commence legal action against Di Maria, his agent and/or PSG if they believe there are grounds so to do.

It's a little like the story about the prostitute who, when offered £1,000 for a shag, said "Yes, sweetie.Your place or mine?" But when asked if she'd do it for £1 she protested "No of course not, what do you take me for?" "We have already established what you are." Came the response."We are merely haggling over the price." The only question here is who's the prostitute?

It's an annoying and distasteful saga for the fans, but given United's public silence on the issue, I suspect they would not be unhappy to unload the player for the right price, which will not be less than around £45. What we keep reading in the press is pure conjecture and we should not be sucked into it.

A bit OTT Leahy12?

I'm sure the club knows where he is and they don't have to sell him, but are probably happy with the deal.

I have a feeling we'll look back in a year or two and consider us to have got the better side of the deal v PSG, we'll see.

Good analogy Shawthing but you messed up the delivery and included the punchline at the start. ;-)

That should be what would Ferguson do with him

Sell him and let's hope he rots there. And I for one, wish him the worst of luck for the rest of his playing career!!

{Ed025's Note - how nice of you..
