Now on to next week. We must expect a similar approach from Tony Pulis's West Brom. Defence, defence, defence, and counter attack. We have to score early, but in pushing for it, we risk letting one in - just like today.

I'll take a Mourinhoesque 1-0. It's squeaky bum time, and you got to to do what you got to do if you want to be invited to the party.

Shaw,

The thing is in games like that it is important that you score first and unfortunately the last 2 weeks we haven't managed it. Next week I would imagine we will be able to score an early goal and that changes the gameplan of the opposition, makes the game more open and therefore means the opposition don't play the way we struggle to play against.

its that simple lol

But what if we don't score early GDS? What becomes of our game plan? That's the problem at the moment we need an alternative to what we have if we aren't having any luck with the 'philosophy'.

JMB,

Our home form this season has been extremely impressive, we have been able to make that breakthrough on many occasions so I am pretty confident we can do it next week as well.

Oh I see Jred is back with the one line posts, have we lost a couple of games mate?

GDS I am not asking if you are 'confident about getting an early goal or not'. I am asking what are we to do if we don't get an early goal? Hog the ball and hope for mistake to happen (Newcastle springs to mind). We lost emphatically yesterday but hey we had possession right?

Aren't they always?

JMB,

I never said anything about the possession at any point, possession means nothing if you do nothing with it, yesterday was extremely disappointing and a poor performance that we have probably been due. I said it is important that we score first, whether that be early or not is a different matter, but playing Chelsea and Everton away, both who have been keeping home clean sheets in recent weeks is a different prospect to playing West Brom at home, where we have only failed to score once all season I believe and scored 4 in our last home game against Man City, who I presume just had a bad day at the office?

When has it not been important to score first?

I fail to see why this needs the argumentative posse to start with there daily arguments.
