Hello everyone!
Long time lurker, been around here since way back in 2010 and maybe might have posted a few of my thoughts after some intense games. But, to new beginnings.
Today was like seeing a game from the Alex Ferguson era, with us pounding the opposition with everything that we have and keeping things in their half, for most of the game.
De Gea didn't have much to do in stark comparison to how he was called upon time and again over the last three seasons. The defence looks solid apart from the rare lapse in concentration which I think Jose will do well to iron out over time with his coaching. Bailly is brilliant - I am already in love with him.
Martial still seems to be in bit of a summer hangover which I think he should overcome with a goal or two soon. Rooney started badly, in my opinion, with a lot of poor possession retention but I guess he made up for everything with the match defining moment. Pogba looked like he was trying too hard for his goal but was solid otherwise. The attacking trio behind Zlatan will have to up their game with the way Mkhitaryan and Rashford performed in their cameos with the former showing everyone what he is capable of even if he didn't score.
Zlatan played pretty tidily and was actually unlucky not to score. But he kept things going and was always a threat in the box.
Hope we keep things going on like this. As far as transfers go - I would think Fonte would be a good addition as long as one of Rojo or Jones are moved on, preferably Rojo - that guy couldn't defend if his life depended on it last season.
Shoutout to all the Eds here who have kept this page up and running. It has grown from the single page rumours page that it remember it to be when I first found it. I was hooked to it because, I clearly remember, one of the Eds posting here that we would signing Michael Owen before it came out in the mainstream news outlets. Been a fan ever since. So Thank you and again, hello to all the amazing Red Devils here!
