Just thought I would look at the top 5's remaining fixtures and try and make my own predictions on results to see who I think may/may not get into the top 4. Having done it as fairly as a football fan can do :-), I can't believe how close it is looking likely to be. Apart from Chelsea, who have an extra game, I think United/Liverpool will get the most points from the last 9 games

Chelsea I think will beat Stoke, QPR, Leicester, Palace, WBrom and Sunderland. They will draw with Hull this weekend, United, Arsenal and LPool.
City will beat WBrom, Palace, Villa, QPR and Swansea. They will draw with United, WHam, Spurs, Southampton.
Arsenal will beat Newcastle, Sunderland, Hull, Swansea and WBrom. They will draw with LPool, Burnley, Chelsea and lose to United.
United will beat Villa, Everton, WBrom, Palace, Arsenal, Hull. They will draw with LPool, City and Chelsea.
Liverpool will beat Newcastle, Hull, WBrom, QPR, Palace and Stoke. They will draw with United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Therefore, in my world, Chelsea will finish top with 86 points, United/City will be on 77 points, Arsenal/Liverpool will be on 75 points. So, City 2nd on goal difference with United 3rd, unless we start scoring more goals regularly. Arsenal will get 4th on goal difference as Liverpool are 13 goals worse off as of now. Let's hope it works out this way, probably not though.

I think you are underestimating Palace there.

Chelsea and Liverpool play Palace at home, United are away, I don't see any of them dropping points in those games MB.

So all 5 teams are going to go the rest of the season unbeaten apart from Arsenal who will lose to us?

17 Mar 2015 14:37:10
Some I have put as draws may be losses here or there, but I see it evening out overall, I don't see many losses from now on but at home I expect us to beat Arsenal GDS yeah.

17 Mar 2015 15:14:05
That is where we differ Brendan, I see a lot of losses from now to the end of the season, people will overreact on Sunday if we lose but the week after Arsenal play Liverpool and it will all change again. I think there are a lot of ups and downs to come and it will be the team that can grind out some results in tricky ties that will get the top 4 places.

I see it being so tight, that most, if not all, the big games could end up as draws, thus cancelling each other out. It will be won against the lesser teams for me, dependant on who they are and whether it is home or away.

I think all of the top 5 will drop points. The top two seem to be losing form, ours is patchy especially our away form, arsenal are currently in form but that can change, and the scouse are getting some luck which can also change.

17 Mar 2015 18:57:11
I prefer to concentrate on one game at a time. let's get the draw or an impossible win against scousers and then onto the next match.

I said a few weeks ago 72 to 74 points is needed and interesting BR thinks 73 is going to get you CL place. If we go with my 74 points total we need 18 more points, which means 6 wins and 3 losses.

I think the team that draws too many instead of wins will miss out and my concern all season has been our away form and inability to win games.

BTW I think Arsenal will turn Liverpool over and so will chelsea and even WBA is a very tricky away game for them.

I do hope your draw prediction at Anfield is correct as that is like a win to me.

I would not be surprised to see arsenal finish second.

Our season will depend on how we get through the 3 games against City, Chelsea and Everton. 1 win and 1 draw would be great result for us.

Frankly i can not see how we go undefeated the rest of the way and neither can i see any of the other teams doing that.

Agree with nomidfield, one game at a time, let's do the liverpool first and go from there .

We may as we'll forget the rest of the season then you got it covered
