Hi eds, keep seeing links to Chalobah from Chelsea. Please can you tell us if we have any interest. doesn't make that much sense to me.

Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Trevoh Chalobah (CB/DM) – Spurs, Atletico, Napoli, Crystal Palace and Roma remain keen. There has also been a discussion with Milan with an extrordinary part exchange offer made - but it will go nowhere. Player wants to leave for more game time and I suspect he will be allowed to leave if the right offer comes in. Something may be worked out with Crystal Palace. Spurs interest has gone for now. West Ham and Nottingham Forest may offer wildcard solutions. Manchester United had an offer rejected last summer but could return and being Home Grown makes him attractive. Spurs, Atletico Madrid and Bayern have asked about his fitness but with Tuchel gone Bayern interest will likely have gone. Will likely leave in the summer regardless of long-term contract but if he gets a guarantee of game time he may well stay.

Thanks Ed,

Given Uniteds current needs do you thinknhe would be a good addition.
I must admit he looked good in his initial breakthrough for Chelsea but can't say I've seen much of him since.

{Ed002's Note - He would be a good option and can also play DM.}

Didn't realise he can play DM aswell. That does make him a more interesting option.

Many thanks for the info.

ED001,

What are your thoughts on Chalobah as a CB?

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - I like him myself, if he was choosing a centre-back to keep out of Chelsea's bunch, he would be the one I would pick for the right-side. Good technically, good in the air, quick enough too. The main thing he lacks is confidence, so he really needs a leader alongside him to bring out the best in him. That is why he improved massively playing alongside Thiago Silva. Put him alongside Martinez and he would grow into an excellent Premier League centre-back I think. He is still a bit raw and inconsistent, but a lot of that is down to facing some really good players in the Prem that force a defender into places they are not used to going. More experience should iron out a lot of that, but even the best can have off days or players that they just cannot cope with at all. Vidic had his Torres for example. But Chalobah is physically imposing, strong, technically very good and fully capable of playing out from the back, it is the mentality that needs most work. Again a lot of that is inexperience, but the shambles at Chelsea certainly has not helped him. Of late though, he has shown signs of settling into the Prem and growing into a very good centre-back.}

Very interesting Ed01. I have never really paid much attention to him. Sounds like a solid option for Utd if Chelsea can be persuaded to sell.

{Ed001's Note - I think he is a very decent option and it is a big mistake by Chelsea to consider letting him go when they have headless chickens like Fofana who should be moved out.}

Completely forgot about Fofana, he has flopped so bad.

Thanks ED001,

Have a good day.

{Ed001's Note - you too MH, take care mate.}

Unruly, bit harsh to say Fofana has flopped when he’s been in the treatment room for the last 2 years. May turn out to be a complete waste of money but can’t really judge a player that hasn’t played ?.
