Hi Ed002,

I see the stories of United being forced into the Europa Conference due to INEOS owning both United and Nice.

Is this a real threat of happening or would you expect INEOS to get this sorted and United staying in Europa?

Thank you in advance for any insight.

{Ed002's Note - INEOS will argue initially that thhey own less than 30% of Manchester United and then it is up to UEFA.}

Agree0 Disagree2

Highly unlikely to happen in my opinion. Both Red Bull Leipzig and Salzburg compete in the same European competitions, while Man City and Girona will both be allowed to compete in the UCL next season.

Yet it is only Manchester United that are being suggested in the press as being banished, maybe because United garner more attention, get more clicks and sell more papers.

I highly doubt it'll be an issue.

Hi Ed002

Is this the same case for Girona and City in Cl. I thought this was resolved the multi club ownership model. RB Liepzig and RB salzburg both played in cl last year or is our case different to the ones i have mentioned.

{Ed002's Note - It can be resolved. Toulouse and AC Milan, together with RBS and RBL & Brighton own Union Saint-Gilloise have all addressed it in the past.}

Brighton were allowed to play in europa aswe last season and there owner owns a share of another club that was also in it.

Won’t be an issue.

There is nothing in it.

The press have nothing to talk about whilst EtH is on holiday, so they needed another scaremongering story about United as clickbait.

It’s an issue that can be resolved but that doesn’t mean that there’s nothing in it. SJR needs to own less than 30% of either Utd or Nice. Both City group and Redbull resolved it the same way by selling to reach the threshold. Looks like SJR will try to claim he owns less than 30% of Utd, but if UEFA don’t accept he’ll have to either sell some of his Utd shares. Will certainly become more of an issue in the future if he wants to progress to a full takeover.

If 30% is the threshold and he opted for a full takeover on man utd, part of that process would be to then divest in Nice to get his shares in Nice below the threshold so that it is not an ongoing issue.

Jimbobred, it would be an ongoing issue unless the glazers sell up in one lump sum. Would SJR want to sell 70% of Nice just to buy an extra 5% of Utd?
