looked at our fixtures and next 7/8 games all look pretty easy with exception of villa away and nc at home, if there are easy games in this league. hope we get on a winning run.

01 Dec 2025 07:40:33
Wouldn't say easy Ahmad no game in the league is now but I would say if we play like we did in the second half yesterday with urgency and fight theory are all very winnable games.

01 Dec 2025 08:08:59
This year any game is winnable and every game you can lose.
Brentford forest Brighton bournmouth Sunderland etc have all beaten teams in last years top 5.
No easy games for us at all.

01 Dec 2025 09:21:09
I think we lack the attacking quality to win all the games more so than anything else it showed against Everton Monday night.
We might have been poor but we have a decent amount of chances it was a game calling out for dare I say it a garnacho type someone who runs at people and creates panic and space for others.

01 Dec 2025 11:17:42
Spot on Ken.

Most would have thought we would beat Everton and lose to Palace, yet we did the opposite.

Tougher league this year, and we haven't developed any consistency to assume any game is winnable.

01 Dec 2025 12:14:51
We looked great second half because the other team was knackered after playing in europe. We still created very little, just played keep ball.

The so called easier games are where we struggle. Teams that play a low block are causing us trouble, so don't expect a big haul of wins unless this team miraculously starts playing better. We were terrible these last 2 games, 3 points should have been 6. We are happy with the league position for where this team is, but the team is not exactly showing many signs of a heartbeat.

01 Dec 2025 12:17:03
Our style of play remains suited towards playing teams that have a high press. We largely don't play through the press. Teams that sit off are more difficult for us. Top sides tend to press high. For teams that sit off we need to work the ball more and drag their defence around rather than getting counter attack opportunities. When we go behind against any team this also happens. So it's not because of the players being enthusiastic or anything. It's because we don't have players that are suitable for this.

It's far too easy to push us to one side and lock us down because our left side is so limited. Defences don't need to shift left to right and back at pace if one side is so bad. It's the bigger issue imo than central midfield, but getting a runner in the middle that can break lines is another way to move defences around.

All of this becomes less of an issue if we get a lead goal! Unless we sign either the LWB or athletic CM I think this pattern is going to continue.

01 Dec 2025 12:44:53
Hopefully we have Cunha back for Thursday. I think he is a real miss and he would be that that player you are calling for Johnreese, but he's better than Garnacho, IMO.

01 Dec 2025 15:41:09
We're joint 5th with Chelsea based upon form over last 10 games. After the next 10 games I expect us to be slightly higher again.

01 Dec 2025 15:47:48
Which of the goal scorers are you dropping ports?

01 Dec 2025 17:09:07
I agree ports he is definitely better would still like an option on the bench like that too though mount isn't that type of player we do lack in forward options.
Id doubt Cunha will start ken if he wasn't fit enough for the last 2 games but he is a great option off the bench if things aren't going well.

01 Dec 2025 17:53:05
For sure. John. Might wait till next Monday to start.

02 Dec 2025 13:45:00
That's a fair question Ken. It would certainly seem unfair to drop one of Zirkzee or Mount but I am a believer that if your best players are available, you play them. IMO, the West Ham CB's would prefer to play up against Zirkzee and look to make it a more physical contest whereas Cunha I would imagine would want to run at and in behind them which I think would cause them issues. So, although probably harsh on the lad, personally I'd drop Zirkzee. However, I'm not sure he will and he'll try ease Cunha back in but I hope not.

I also wonder if it would be better to switch Mount and Fernandes round. I think Mount might be more ''industrial'' in CM then Fernandes and would be good to get Fernandes closer to the West Ham goal. Either way, looking forward to the game and hopefully another 3 points.

03 Dec 2025 15:41:58
Mount didn't exactly have a spectacular game. He scored a freekick through the wall. If he hadn't got that goal I don't think anyone would be saying he has to stay in the team.

We need to be outplaying teams and making open play chances. Not freekicks, corners, long throws (shudder) . By that measure, noone is undroppable.

04 Dec 2025 17:51:26
What's wrong with long throws?
I love a good long throw set piece. Its a really effective weapon imo if you have the right thrower.
A like the drama chaos and atmosphere they create too.
Absolutely no different to a corner kick imo. If you have players who can hone that delivery skill from the sideline then exploit that to the max.

30 Nov 2025 20:59:09
If Adam Wharton was auditioning for a potential transfer, his first half performance would certainly have done a lot of good. He was excellent, his passing was incisive, accurate and effective. Not as effective in the second half but that was probably down to us taking control of the game.

Have to say I thought Luke Shaw was excellent defensively, his best game for some time. Good to see Licha back as well, the issue will be what level of performance he will be able to achieve going forward. Hopefully, for all concerned, we get the old player back.

30 Nov 2025 22:36:44
We have played Brighton, Forest and now Palace within weeks of one another and been linked to a CM from each team.
Based upon the 3 games, the order of preference currently has to be Anderson, Wharton and then Baleba, perhaps 2 of those are destined for our team, there will be a lot of interest.

I feel Anderson and Wharton are compatible together and that would be a significant step forward by the club, however I still maintain that WB will be an area we need to focus on in equal measures, either this window, the summer, or both.
I would not be against a WB and a CM in both windows.

01 Dec 2025 10:11:59
Anderson right footed, covers the ground extremely well, drives forward with the ball, passes forward, incredible work rate without the balk.

Wharton left footed, covers the ground, more of a deep lying playmaker, great work rate. Defensively robust.

Two proven Premier league midfielders, both cover tremendous amounts of ground with extremely complementary attributes.

If we were to get both of these lads it would be ground breaking in terms of the improvement to the team. The back line and wide channels would get way more cover and we would stop conceding due to midfield runners. They would give way more control when on the ball meaning we could be less direct in our build up. it would get the 10's in the game a lot more in a more productive way.

Anderson is an absolute no brainer for me. Wharton is quality but may need cover as he did pick up injuries last year, this could just be a blip though as he's only missed two games this season and played 42 in he 23/24 season.

01 Dec 2025 15:48:18
We'd have bruno as cover!

01 Dec 2025 21:15:33
I think Bruno leaves to buy two players of that price.

02 Dec 2025 00:35:03
Bruno can move to his more suited position again. or Saudi.

02 Dec 2025 10:29:43
I agree Rewz, i think we need a reset and i would get some money in for Bruno whilst we can. He's been a great player for us over the years but he's going to be 32 next year. I said in my previous posts that Amorim is currently putting square pegs in round holes. Bruno isn;t a central midfielder and if Amorim is going to pesist with this formation i would rather have a front three of Cunha, Sesko and Mbuemo with two natural central midfielders like Wharton and Anderson.

It gives the team much more balance and security especially in the central midfield area where we have been lacking massively over the years.

02 Dec 2025 14:56:01
I hope i am wrong but I think Wharton and Anderson are being overhyped at the moment.

02 Dec 2025 16:06:28
Anderson has been exceptional since the start of last season and has been quality for the national team. He offers a lot in and out of possession. Statistically he's one of the best players in the top 5 leagues in Europe at the moment but more importantly the eye test shows he's got a top top work rate. He's a play i'd love to see in the red of Man Utd.

Wharton is a very different type of player BUT one that would compliment the skillset of Anderson. He's more your scanning 6 with the regista style of passing.

The most important thing for me is would would be able to build in midfield much more and have more dominance on the ball, also with their passing range we could still be direct when required., we would do less stupid shots from outside the box from midfield too which is one of the things that annoys me the most. There's a great pass o for a high probability chance but we always take the hollywood shot like idiots.

I'm not really fussed if its Anderson and Wharton, we just need to completely overhaul this midfield.

30 Nov 2025 18:48:11
Last week I was very critical of Zirkzee, and so, of course, as I predicted, he would probably prove me wrong today, which he did. Besides scoring he was really tidy with the ball.

Shout out to Luke Shaw who played really well also. Two excellent last ditch tackles. He's come in for much criticism during his long period of injuries. There's a reason why he was England's #1 left back and I'm certain that he would have preferred to be playing.

30 Nov 2025 19:52:37
Pick a couple more to be critical of then!

30 Nov 2025 22:37:51
As I have said, he can be very unplayable at times. Needs to be like that all the time and for me he would demote Sesko to the bench. Consistency is what he needs to bring to the table.

02 Dec 2025 14:16:05
Unplayable, in which world is that, let’s put some perspective here that’s 1 goal in a year and was awful first half again, only got better because Crystal Palace had only played less than 72 hours earlier…. and they really tired…
Unplayable you can’t be serious or about as much as your £20 quid on us to win the league is serious!

There are Red tints and Red tints but that’s got to take the biscuit. unplayable I’m still laughing at that one.

Great result that and a fantastic way to cleanse the soul after that showing on Monday night lol. I honestly give up trying to work this team out, had us winning comfortably on Monday and losing today yet the results were vice versa. Anyways can enjoy the rest of today’s games now. ?.

30 Nov 2025 15:50:15
Yes, all very odd Tim, and a pattern repeated elsewhere. Foresalt smash Liverpool. and then lose to Brighton. I'll say again, its a weaker league this year which makes things good for us. We have improved but with so many teams being inconsistent, it does feel like top 4 is a possibility.

Arsenal look a class ahead of the rest, everyone else seems to be all over the place. Competitive, weaker, whichever works for you.

30 Nov 2025 18:16:26
There’s like 10 teams separated by 3-5 points. I’ve never known a league like it. Keeps it interesting that’s for sure!

30 Nov 2025 18:26:11
Yep, ken says competitive, I say weak, but whichever one of us is right, a decent run has a big impact right now. I can't see Sunderland staying so strong, and Brighton will do well to stay top 6 sonics all tomplay for.

The big difference for me this season is we seem to be able to come from behind to draw or win, that's a big improvement.

30 Nov 2025 22:05:46
Its much more competitive whichever way you li at it. Epl teams will all get out of the league phases in Europe I think. The mid teams are stronger that incudes us.
The gulf city Liverpool and arsenal had is tightened due to them not being able to do over teams .
The 3 epl managers touted to replace amorim all sit below him.
Arsenal do look strong but I'm not convinced they will get too far away from the pack.
3 wins on the bounce for any team in top half will put you in cl place probably.

3 defeats amd your in bottom half but still in touch of a top 4 spot.
I expect it will thin out to 7 or 8 teams competing for 3rd and 4th possibly 5th for cl spots after about 30 games. I still think we will be in that 7 or 8 teams. It will be a bit of a lottery. Lots of ups and downs for most teams.
Our last 7 is 3 wins 2 draws 1 defeat. The same again in our next 7 will keep us very much in touch I feel.

29 Nov 2025 17:47:40
Ed how good is jj gabriel or what sort of potential does he have?

{Ed077's Note - He's a 14 yr old shining for the U18s so sky is the limit for him, but it's still a long long way to go to get there. He is literally just a child

30 Nov 2025 13:24:42
15 now Ed, since the 6th October. The lad has everything, he will be with the first team squad from next summer as soon as he’s allowed. We have to do everything to keep hold of him.

{Ed077's Note - Oh, I hadn't realised

29 Nov 2025 18:17:41
Why couldn’t Everton have been that crap on Monday night? Lol. Organised, resolute and well drilled they were, tonight…all over the place! Typical ?.

29 Nov 2025 19:44:05
Played against a better team today.

29 Nov 2025 21:03:15
Imagine how it will be when Mbeumo and Amad go to the AFCON.

29 Nov 2025 21:34:40
It's very worrying isn't it MH? I have a feeling we will be somewhere around where we finished last season by the time they get back.

I'm hoping I'm wrong.

30 Nov 2025 06:17:12
Think it says just as much about Everton as it does about us!

29 Nov 2025 17:46:35
Oh what joy! The U18s were playing in the league today, away at Liverpool.

We won the game 0-7, JJ Gabriel scored a terrific hat trick, this guy only turned 15 a couple of week's back and already look's too good for the U18s.

Let's hope for three thing's.
1. He stay's with us .
2. He avoids injury.
3. He continues developing as he is doing.

I know it has been said of many other's and there is a long way to go, but he truly could be very, very special.

29 Nov 2025 17:25:08
He's the main man in my current FM save! ?.

29 Nov 2025 17:37:25
Could be a load of BS. But I think I saw somewhere that other clubs are after him.

29 Nov 2025 19:17:50
Other clubs Fallguy! Real Madrid and Barcelona are trying all sorts behind the scenes to get him to sign, every single major club in Europe has expressed a desire to sign him.

I can only assume you do not have any interest in, or knowledge of the academy as he is most certainly not worthy of being described as BS.

29 Nov 2025 19:26:05
Fallguy

Yes all the top teams. There was even a story about Arsenal being keen to get him, to punish Utd for taking Obi and Heaven.

29 Nov 2025 21:31:01
Anyone who may be interested in seeing the 7 goals we scored against Liverpool can go on to the club's website, there's a 5 minute highlights reel. It's worth seeing.

30 Nov 2025 03:47:07
Sounds like Real Madrid are favourites to sign him too, which would be another sad day for United if it happens, hopefully not, but would not be surprised, Arsenal even play a 15 year old occasionally to give him so incentives, we don’t even play kids who he puts on the bench when drastically needed to try something different… if RA stays the kid might just go, RA likes a Robot.

30 Nov 2025 08:48:41
Been watching the youth teams a bit on YouTube recently but still limited exposure. The number of selfish players is frightening. Every forward will try to beat as many defenders as possible before shooting. No one seems to look up to play a ball to a teammate or for a better opportunity once the get to the 18 yard box.

It’s an awful trait in the first squad that needs sorting. Obviously only watched a handful of highlights, but it was obvious and a bit worrying. Is this thing or just coincidence?

30 Nov 2025 14:38:49
JSU/German/Romanian or whatever you are hiding behind today, it has to be said your ability to talk utter twaddle never ceases to amaze, (aMAZE-get it! )

Arsenal play Dowman because he is a very, very talented youngster, not to give him incentives as you suggest. Furthermore he is almost a year older than Gabriel and consequently a bit further ahead in his development.

Part of the reasons both Ayden Heaven and Chido Obi left Arsenal to join us was because of the fact Arsenal give nowhere near the opportunities to youngsters that we do, look at the stats.

Very often academy youngsters are named as substitutes to give them experience of first team involvement, with little intention of game time, unless maybe a large lead is held or suchlike.

As for opportunities for JJ, I have no doubt whatsoever, he will get opportunities under R. A. but don't forget he has only just turned 15 a few weeks ago so physicality will remain an issue in the short term.

Finally, I have no idea why this issue concerns you as surely it only matter's to Utd supporters, something you assuredly can lay no claim to be.

30 Nov 2025 21:17:48
I’m pretty sure Dowman can play epl games as he is 15 but was turning 16 during this calendar year, so JJ would only be able to play epl matches from next season, well I believe it’s something like that.

30 Nov 2025 22:40:26
Maze, you don't like RA, we get it.

30 Nov 2025 23:23:30
Yes, EWAM, there is a minimum age rule which states that to play in the Premier League this season you have to have turned 15 by August 2025, which Dowman had but JJ did not reach that age until October so he will not play in the Premier League this season.

Although JJ could play in the FA Cup in January as the rule does not apply in that competition.

However he is physically nowhere near ready yet for first team action.
