6 days to go!

On the 16th of June our Facebook page will go live to a charity match the site has organised, in aid of Seva and Macmillan nurses.
It will be a 3pm kick off!
Please share and like our page to support the boys taking part. We have one crowdfunded page on justgiving that raised £300 before prematurely ending so stay tuned for a new one setting up. We are hopeful to raise £1000 with this and the players match fees.

This is also the last call for anyone else who wants to play in the game held in north oxfordshire. Current players range from all abilities and ages! So do not feel you cannot contribute.

Text me on 07719565417 for more info!

Will ed001's "Just like watching brazil" better ed002's "Walham green east wapping, carpet cleaning rodent and boggit exterminating association"....FC?

Who is your money on?!

Ed001

Hey guys, ken and myself are both playing in this match mostly with guys from the Liverpool page. Some support would be greatly appreciated, if anyone can make the game and get involved that would be great, a few extra players so old fogies like men don't have to play 90 minutes could save his old creaking joints. Lol.
If you can't make it then donations or just tuning in to the Facebook live viewing of me making a tit of myself would be great.

I don't know about you guys but the site has given me so much over the years, I've been posting since it was a single page, and it's been a pleasure to watch it grow and be small part of that. So I'm more than happy to give a little back.

2.) 10 Jun 2018 23:33:01
Hey gents, if this ever happens again, I’d be happy to simultaneously set one up on the other side of the pond for max effect. I am an American currently living in Hawaii and I am certain that I could pull something together to double our efforts.

Let me know if something like that would interest you all.

3.) 10 Jun 2018 23:47:16
Shame nobody from ireland sets one up.

4.) 10 Jun 2018 23:50:06
I'm in the team with you Shappy. looking forward to it.

5.) 10 Jun 2018 22:24:14
What's the Facebook page called ed.

{Ed001's Note - I am told if you search this in the search bar on there it shows up first: facebook.com/footballrumours

6.) 11 Jun 2018 01:30:39
If i could play on Saturday, Ed001 would liken me to Luka Modric in a player profile. would love to have played though.

{Ed001's Note - I was told you are more like an elephant dosed on valium trying to tap dance in concrete boots.}

7.) 11 Jun 2018 09:10:24
Excellent Lee mate, thought it was just me and Ken from the united page. Looks like we might have the three musketeers now. Lol.

8.) 11 Jun 2018 10:44:38
Feeling very vulnerable around all the Scousers.

9.) 11 Jun 2018 11:49:35
Boys keep the ball moving forward,
Don't park the bus.
Hold hands with their best player and pull him to the ground and try to get a sneaky elbow on their keeper early on in the game then take shots from 30 or 40 yards out. 😀😀😀 that should do it.

10.) 11 Jun 2018 13:45:24
Would love to have played lads unfortunatley I’m moving house to ulverston that day. Hope yous get a good day and a great turnout!
Enjoy yourselves.

11.) 11 Jun 2018 16:02:05
Have fun lads would have loved to have been there. Hope to be there next year.

12.) 11 Jun 2018 16:06:11
Far from it Ed, if you see me play i think you'd recommend me to Jim Lawlor.

13.) 11 Jun 2018 16:13:32
I refuse to watch this because it could ruin my belief that Shappy is really comedian Shappi Khorsandi.

14.) 11 Jun 2018 16:22:39
Or you might find your faith rewarded. Lol.

15.) 12 Jun 2018 20:27:00
I can play?

{Ed001's Note - get in touch with benny baller on the number provided, one has dropped out so there is a space.}

16.) 13 Jun 2018 15:53:24
Shappy/ Ken I am from this page but live in Liverpool so add another musketeer 2 that! 😃.

Thanks ed. Obiang from Sampdoria to West Ham is an interesting one.

{Ed001's Note - they are pushing the boat out, they are targeting European football at the Olympic Stadium.}

2.) 13 Jun 2015 10:31:15
They're assembling a pretty good squad, aren't they. Obiang was highly touted a few years ago so could prove to be a very good signing.

Thanks to all of you that have been helping to beta test our new game, Flat Out Horse Racing at http://www.footballrumoursbets.co.uk/games/flatouthorseracing.php it is completely free to play, and will remain that way even after it leaves beta. Currently Ed033 is working on converting the game to HTML5 so that it can run on mobile devices.

Once that is done, he will be putting together a monthly prize draw, which you can enter by buying tickets using the game money you have won through playing the game, as a thank you for your help with the testing. So the more you play it, the more chance you have of winning.

Also, in case you haven't spotted it yet, we have made some changes to your accounts on here, which you can find through your 'My Recent Posts' link currently. Or you can see those changes on other people's accounts by clicking on their name under a post.

You can now add a profile picture, as well as your avatar, plus some information about yourself if you choose to. There are also areas there to display how you are getting on in our games and competitions, if you are taking part.

The recent posts are still displayed on that page, but the links will be changed later to reflect the changes, as you will be able to edit your profile direct from that page. Your full set of profile badges will also be displayed there, when they are up and running (which is one of the next things on Ed033's to do list).

1.) Superb work ed thanks for each and evryone of yours dedication towards this site.

{Ed007's Note - (yes)

2.) Thanks Ed - I just had a 16-1 romp home, it was more exciting than watching Utd this season, haha. Appreciate all of your work on the site.

{Ed007's Note - Well done.}

Finally, thanks as always Ed001. I said the same thing more or less. I believe we were good but seemed better than we was because City was rubbish and not a Guardiola team. No good press, no intensity, no tactical fouls and not manipulating opponents to create space. Against Bodo they were the same, they are very easy to play against them.

{Ed001's Note - they played like a Pep team, just unfortunately it was a Pep Lijnders rather than Pep Guardiola one. Sorry it was so late. The sites get so crazy at times that I barely get time to do anything than to edit!}

2.) 22 Jan 2026 17:17:51
I feel like Pep needs to be sacked for his own health. He looks burnt out. Should have stepped down at the same time Klopp did, there’s only so long that a manager can work under that level of pressure, and Pep is well and truly passed that point.

3.) 22 Jan 2026 18:24:14
Thanks Ed.

{Ed001's Note - very welcome mate, I hope it was worth the wait.}

4.) 22 Jan 2026 18:32:27
No problem Ed001, we can wait. I wish Lijnders take over from Guardiola!

{Ed001's Note - so do I!}

5.) 22 Jan 2026 20:51:29
It was, genuinely not being an arse licker but I find your analysis to be top, better than what you seen on sky etc.

{Ed001's Note - now I am blushing! I look like the card Rodri got this week....}

Ed001,

You make Slot sound like Southgate .

2.) 19 Jan 2026 15:47:28
Ed001,

You make Slot sound like Southgate .

{Ed001's Note - so many of the new wave of coaches are similar. Wedded to a style that is boring to watch and talk absolute kack.}

3.) 19 Jan 2026 17:49:11
ED001,

It's hard to disagree with you on that. I do miss those end to end games, which have you on the end of your seat.

{Ed001's Note - I enjoy going to the local team here, Paulo Sousa has them playing a lot like a Klopp team, though it does make me misty-eyed at times missing him! Especially tonight watching them win 7-0 with some excellent high pressing attacking football which was fun to watch.}

4.) 19 Jan 2026 17:49:12
Ed001, I seem to remember a good while ago you referred to Southgate as a 'clipboard manager'.

Totally get it. I use that phrase a lot now to make myself sound smarter ?.

{Ed001's Note - if a phrase I used makes you sound smarter, you should probably be very worried!!}

5.) 19 Jan 2026 21:29:02
ED001,

I'm visiting Dubai in August, hopefully i get to see a match whilst I'm out there. I don't think the other half will be happy though.

How are you finding the life out their?

{Ed001's Note - August? It will be a bit hot for footie then mate. I love it out here, you have all the tourist trap places but also so much other stuff as well. I am quite lucky though, I live overlooking a football stadium and the team's training pitches. But August is usually incredibly hot, so be prepared.

Whereabouts are you staying? Half the Premier League players will be in town over the summer break, mostly staying places like Atlantis. Is that why you are in town? Are you secretly a Premier League player?}

6.) 20 Jan 2026 08:48:56
Ed001,

Is my grammar that poor?

No, unfortunately not. We got a really good deal, which was similar price to a holiday to Europe. We are staying near the Palm, so we already creating an itinerary list of things to do.

Is there any places you would recommend eating or visiting out there?

{Ed001's Note - near the palm? That is wayyyy out of my budget! I would recommend eating outside malls etc, there are some really good cheap cafes everywhere. But ground rent is their biggest cost, so outside of the mall and areas like the Palm and Marina is so much cheaper.

Places to visit would be a huge list, there are places like Al Seef, Al Serkal Avenue that are good. You are near the palm so Atlantis is very worth a visit, good chance if you can take the heat that you will bump into some footballers or other celebs, particularly in the water park Aquaventure there. Marina is lovely, as is JBR. Bluewaters as well. You are outside tourist season so you can't do stuff like Magic Garden or Global Village unfortunately. Soukh Madinat Jumeirah is really nice, though a bit confusing to find your way around.

If you are shopping there are 3 outlet malls - Outlet Village, Outlet Mall and Al Ghurair Centre (which is the first mall in Dubai) and AGC has some good food in the Flayva food court as well. Dragon Mart is a big Chinese market, can find all sorts there.

I am not sure what you are looking for or what kind of things you enjoy, so difficult to recommend really. I mean Al Seef has a couple of museums and is lovely and you can catch the old Abras across to the Gold and Spice Soukhs from there for about 20p. You have to go right up to the top end of it though, past the museums and market.

Al Serkal Avenue is all artsy and stuff, so can be a nice day out if you like that kind of thing. Actually, I don't really like that kind of thing but still quite like going there. Problem with both of these two is that it will be 40c+ most likely and they are outdoors. During the summer most people tend to stay in during the day!

One thing you won't be short of is choice of food though. There are so many restaurants and cafes everywhere you go.}

7.) 20 Jan 2026 11:01:16
ED001,

Thanks, i really appreciate your recommendations. We plan to do abit of everything.

We did get a very good deal. A week later, the price went up by alot!

{Ed001's Note - you can get some great deals in the summer. It is good for residents as well as we get big discounts anyway on touristy stuff, usually around 30%.}

Sorry I clicked send too soon and never finished.

It is all about maintaining possession to look for higher quality chances, rather than hopeful crosses. Liverpool showed this season that there is still a value in putting crosses in early and getting bodies into the box though, so maybe things will change over the next few seasons. It does tend to evolve each year.

Goalie Paul Woolston was released.
Matty Willock returned from a loan with St Mirren and went back out to Creepy Crawley.
Tom Sang joined Fylde on loan.
Zak Dearnley joined Oldham Athletic on loan.
Regan Poole joined Newport County on loan.
Ethan Hamilton went to Rochdale on loan.
Callum Whelan joined Port Vale on loan.
Ro-Shaun Williams went to Shrewsbury Town, I think that was a free transfer.

There you go, I think that is all of them, unless there are some late deals yet to have the paperwork processed by the FA.

Incidentally this was just sent in on the Villa site about him from Davedean82: Axel gets better and better, with every game . his pace and the ground he cover is amazing. Also he's helping Chester recover some of his confidence . That was Chester's best game for ages, him and Axel could make a great pairing.
