RA "when you look at the matches we've lost, I don't think we've lost because of the system"

Some may agree with that, others might not. But going by his own words then he isn't for making any changes, so get that idea out of your head.

Agree2 Disagree0

It is absolutely the system. let's add delusion to his manager traits.

Amorim is so entrenched in the belief that changing means failure, that he’d rather sink into delusion than try anything different.

It’s true that a lot of the goals his teams have conceded result from individual errors. However, these errors can be punished and exploited due to the obvious weaknesses in his system.

At this point, I’m done with him. A coach unwilling to learn and adapt is never going to make it at the top level.

He wants his players to change and adapt but he doesn't want to do same .

And a club with fans who have the patience of a goldfish coupled with a media army desperate for the next man utd story to sell their papers are never going to make it back to the top level.

We are stuck in a self destructive cycle, at some point we have to plot a course out of it. Or we can just sack managers every 9 months and look forward to winning the championship. No not that one. The actual championship.

Dodgy, I would love for Amorim to succeed, but he’s going out every week doing the same thing, losing, and still refusing to try something different. Giving him more time won’t change anything. His style of play is just too predictable, and too easy to exploit. It’s a question of sticking with this, or the directors admitting that they made a mistake hiring him.

It doesn’t matter what system we play. If the players aren’t willing to fight, the results will stay the same. But that doesn’t really matter at this point. Amorim is as good as gone.

03 Oct 2025 17:15:20
Any system/ formation is irrelevant if you get, anxious players, lack of team ethic, lack a of intensity from a few, lack of controlled aggression. individual errors and players who can't follow instuction and remain focused for the whole time they are on the pitch. Formations and pods are all variable depending on with/ without ball, where on the pitch the play is, spacing between players, pods of 3 or 4 players, straight lines, diagonals.
The players need to know where they need to be in any particular situation. Amorim's formation probably rely's on one of the FB's joing the midfield 2 at any one time or one of (or both) number 10's joining the midfield 2 and it isn't fluid. It should'nt be complicated, just some individuals need to know what they are doing.

Dodgy, maybe the next manager will be competent enough to change the results on the pitch.
We have had 2 managers in ETH and Amorim, who’ve looked promising, judging by their work with their previous team, and have totally flopped for one reason or another.

I absolutely 100% want one of these to succeed but there’s no point pretending that Amorim is going to suddenly have this team competing.

He and his coaching staff are way off what’s required in the PL unfortunately.

I am frustrated as anyone about bruno in midfield pivot, mcguire, dalot, shaw, casemiro, beyinder.

I hope he starts to play youth / new team and starts to build the future. I think some would have more patience watching yoro, heaven, mainoo and co trying to gel into a new team. But watching the same old squad of old losing away to average teams is enough to burn his future.

I can't see a way back for him now. Too much damage done last season and by not buying a special-ist rb and a midfielder. But I also think we would be better off quicker if we just played young players and built for the future and gave him time. He has the wrong players now. So change the players.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again. Does it have to be just the players? is it just the manager? Why can’t it be both? Just because we’ve had a number of failed managers doesn’t mean we should stick with this one, maybe he’s not right either. The evidence mounting up would suggest so. I hope he succeeds like many others on here but it’s not trending that way and his stubbornness to even admit any culpability isn’t helping. Seems he now doesn’t want to change incase it does work and he’ll have to admit it was his system after all.
