Something MUST CHANGE!
Why would any new generation choose to support Man Utd?
Last season I had to explain to my little boy why we did not qualify for Europe : (
I see from the start of the season he comes home saying how his friends in school talk about their teams' mid week performances in Europe and then he adds that I shouldn't worry, next season we will be able to talk about Utd in europe as well.
He loves utd because it is the only team I love and its been great father son time since he was a baby, I feel now he does it more to make me happy than himself and that shouldn't be so, esp for an 8year old.
#AmorimOUT! I don't want to endure this nonsense anymore, we played better under RA when he hadn't signed any players! We played better under RA when he had no preseason! The only system I see now is 'catch the chicken' - ten random people thrown in a pitch sized coop to catch one hen; no coordination, no cohesion, very little teamwork, lack of desire.
Any youth player promoted to the 1st team has his zeal and fire quenched by involvement with this team.
The coach is often the easy scapegoat but whose job is it to make a group of players work as a well oiled unit? Whose job is it to play players with desire to win? Whose job is it to ensure growth of players? Whose job is it to deploy tactics that nullify opponents?
I have nothing against RA, I hope he comes good but all indications I have seen so far are disastrous!
Rant Over!

I don't know why, but I read this as if you were Bruno Fernandes.

You explain that’s life. Sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s crap.
My son is 7 - “supports” Utd because I do, but he knows we’re rubbish right now.

I think the club need to show some real leadership now and go to Amorim and say, as a club, we want to play 4-2-3-1 and we have brought the players and have the players to play this. This is our model and we feel this is our best set up for success. You can play however you feel works, play out from the back, route 1, counter attack but the shape and structure must be within this model.
I know they appointed him and this was his philosophy BUT they are now Head Coaches not Managers. It will be up to Amorim to then decide whether he wants to go with that or to walk away.
I really like Amorim, I think he carries himself well and represents the club well in his mannerisms and behaviour. I think his morals are great and in line with the club but I do think he needs some support and maybe guidance to help get the best out of the players and get some better results on the board.
I actually don't see a problem with the formation. Formations provide a convenient shorthand for talking about tactics, they are all slight tweaks of the same basic setup: defenders at the back, midfielders linking play, and forwards leading the attack. It is the execution—the players’ skill, decision-making, and cohesion—that truly determines outcomes. Formations may look different on paper, but in practice, they are more alike than not, and their direct impact on results is often overstated but they are used as an excuse to criticise. 3-4-2-1 can easily become 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 if Dorgu drops into LB and Cunha to LM.
The reason I'd be telling to make a change of shape though is for the psychological factor. This team has no resilience. Even Fernandes now on penalties is easily rattled by a bump from the ref or being made to wait a little longer. If you go out and say we starting out in 4-2-3-1, a formation the players may seem more comfortable with and being in positions they believe they are best in, they have no excuse then. No excuse to hide behind the formation. But psychologically, they may go out feeling more comfortable and therefore performing better. Shouldn't have to do this as they are professional footballers but clearly something isn't working for them.
Just for full transparency my line up would then be:
Lammens
Mazraoui - Yoro - De Ligt - Dorgu
Ugarte - Mainoo
Mbuemo - Fernades - Cunha
Sesko.

I’d drop Bruno need something a little radical to shake things up. Besides he’s shown nothing this season so far to warrant his place as leader or star player, he’s been quite a big negative. The sharks are circling our captain every opposition can see his weakness and exploit it with ease and I reckon our own players can see it too. Besides, giving it to a more serious, hard working player who looks up for it is a free boost to the squad. De Ligt for me, really starting to shine and much prefer a defender/ defensive midfielder as captain. The team seems too dependant on which captain shows up they been so reliant on him in the past.

We’ve no right to be in Europe.
We have no right to be good.
But the least we can expect is the players to give 100% and the coach to improve the team and adapt when needed.

And the fans to stick by the team and support through good and bad.

My daughter supports United because I do, she even asked for a United top for her birthday.
She will be a diehard fan because she will have gone through the bad years first and will therefore appreciate the good years more.

Grim,
Spot on mate, also there are a lot of people in Manchester who will be supporting their local club.
It’s madness to say why should anyone support a football club because they aren’t winning consistently in my opinion.
