Rewz has written an article entitled, The Next Manchester United Manager Faces A Massive Task

I agree that the next coach will face a tough job getting something out of this squad. However, this has been true of every coach since Fergie retired. Each new coach inherits an increasingly disjointed squad signed to play in a different system.

The biggest frustration is that INEOS promised to do things differently. Their plan was to put a sporting director in place who would dictate the overarching style of play throughout the club, and to sign a coach and players to fit this. But this plan was scrapped when the other directors overruled Ashworth and brought in Amorim.

It was an arrogant and short-sighted decision, and we now have a crop of new players specifically signed to play in Amorim’s system. Still, there’s no point continuing down the Amorim path when it clearly isn’t working. The most sensible option is to bring in a manager with experience in this league, and hope they can put together something with our hodgepodge squad.

Ultimately, not sticking to the original plan has taken the club backwards in the stated mission to challenge for titles.

I think there’s a lot of talent in this squad with some talented players at U18.

Goalkeeper is TBC and midfield is now a priority with Anderson, Baleba and Wharton being linked.

I think the right person will be motivated and believe they can get more from this lot.

Think our captain will still be an issue for the next manager, considering how temperamental he is you can only imagine what he is like behind closed doors in a system that neither needs nor benefits for his style of play. Will be gutted if he is at the root of this lack of effort/ cohesion. No doubt he’ll be sweetness and light for a couple of games if we go back to 4-3-3 which will only mask what has been an underlying issue for a while.

If Amorim doesn't have the players for his system then by definition, neither would Glasner.

It would potentially be another rinse and repeat January and Summer transfer window spent trying to get the players in who would be best suited to the system.

We have zero ball carriers or legs in the middle of the park.
I don't even think 433 would fix this.

3 forward players was a mistake and this will also cause issues if a change to a different system is adopted.

I am out of ideas and appreciate the negative nature of my post but, I genuinely feel we are listless and so far behind other teams that we have a long, long road ahead of us.
