A point against what is now a well drilled team, in form, fighting for their lives away from home. Take your medicine and a point, learn a lot from it, and move on to a similar team who we should beat.

Loving the finish from Sesko - slow burner but yes beginning to earn to the Utd shirt now. West Ham blocked the spaces brilliantly nullifying Amad, Cunha and Mbeumo. Should have gone more directly sooner.

I do find the concern fans have over a low block to be slightly out of proportion in my opinion.

There is a reason why poorer sides tend to use it against sides with superior players, it's effective and statistically the best chance they have of getting a result.

Only the very best sides can consistently play against a low block and beat it. Typically to beat a low block you need one of three things.

1. A mistake from the opposition, someone not tracking their runner, losing their individual battles, giving the ball away in a dangerous place, or gifting a penalty.

2. A moment of unbelievable magic and invention from a player who does something you just can't stop. Hitting a 40 yard screamer into the top corner, dribbling past 4 or 5 players with the ball glued to his foot, rising 2.5m into the air to head a ball home that no one else can reach.

3. Having a team full of world class players who can just relentlessly pummel the opposition until they break and concede.

That's it. There is no clever tactical plan to make good to average players suddenly capable of consistently beating a low block through the brilliance of their play.

I mean Arsenal have spent over a billion creating a top class squad, and even they tend to rely on starting 4 CB's to overwhelm the opposition at corners to consistently beat low blocks.

We are a long way from having a top class squad to be able to overwhelm the opposition and beat the teams that will let you have the ball and stick two banks of four in front of the ball. We will have to rely on either moments to brilliance or the opposition making a mistake. Neither of which you can consistently rely on.

Very poor goal to conceed, Shaw at fault and Martinez was bad for the cross. what's really frustrating is it the team only increased speed of play and intencity after tgey scored, should be starting like that great finish by Sesko for our goal and a big shout out the Lemmens who made save at 1nil in extra time. On we go.

Martinez covered the near post, The goal was started by Shaw letting the ball bounce and mainoo not tracking his runner that he looked at just before and let him get in front of him. the football yesterday was awful to watch I suspect we spent 70% of the game walking around.

Martinez stood virtually still rather than going out to try and tackle or at least prevent the cross. He was absolutely at fault.

I do hope we start Yoro against Everton over Maguire. Need pace in the backline to play a higher line. Can't break teams who are happy to counter otherwise, which is what I suspect Everton will do.

I think Carrick fell into a bit of naivety naming the same team for all 5 games, yes they have done very well, but the very best make tweaks against different teams as required Carrick got a bit caught up riding a wave of the last 4 games, when alarm bells should have rang and a few tweaks should have been made, yes it’s hard to change a winning team but that’s what sorts the real managers from the pretenders….

Having said that hopefully he learns from it and we move on, we escaped with a point, now few tweaks for the next…. I appreciate what he got on the bench and squad is poor, but just a change is sometimes good enough.
I think him and staff will realise this and not follow the nativity of RA and never learn.

With the drop off we have seen with subs it is hard to change a winning team, however with it being a short period since the Spurs game there was definitely a logic to mix it up.

Unfortunately as we keep saying the drop off in performances from the bench means that would have been a risk, however I think starting Sesko for Cunha might have been the one change with Cunha coming on fresh second half.

Biggest issue was once Sesko was on not getting enough crosses in, when we did they looked panicked.

However, 5 games on from Amorim we have picked up 13 points and are in the running for champions league, we would have all taken that at the start.

The unbeaten run under carrick continues. Not the great performance but a decent point away from home against a team in decent form who are fighting for their lives. We always struggle away to West Ham so we all knew that this was a hard game.

Happy to sesko again, great finish…near 2 week break now b4 Everton so plenty of time for rest and recuperation and some work on the training pitch too! then it’s the final push towards the end of season.

Disappointing results tim wan bissaka with the usual goal line clearance against us first thoal was crucial and unfortunately Martinez switched off again.

Mistake not starting Sesko. Amad shouldn’t have started as his main threat is pace and beating his man but there was no space, and never was going to be. They were compact and fluid and made it difficult. We needed the first goal and after they scored just sat in.

Hopefully carrick learns - at least should’ve bought Sesko on half time or even 55 mins! 13/15 points from a tough run and top 4 is safe for this week of games. Need to plan for Everton - lack of game time could work against us though - not playing enough.

Shaw didn't do well in the first instance either. Couldn't deal with the high ball and then took himself out of the play with a missed tackle.

Yoro made two saving tackles. Kept us in the game. Sesko's finish was superb. Kobbie played really well. Mbuemo and Amad couldn't find any space. We'll have the same issue against Everton.

4 wins 1 draw in 5 is top 4 form. Drawing a tricky away game midweek after short rest is not that big a surprise. Keep moving forward and don't let the nay sayers bring the doom and gloom after a couple of dropped points away from home. This epl is like that this year.

Don’t matter how we dress it up, trying to mitigate it over 5 games, tonight was very poor performance, which is a worry that we still struggle to break teams down for some reason we just run out of ideas against the lower teams, our forward line looks poor in these games and the build up gets so slow, it’s pedestrian

I appreciate you all think Martinez is a great CB, but he is poor, in fact I would say our whole back 4 and there replacements in this squad are all average at best and not one of them is at the required level, yes they get by but come on be serious not one of them would get in Arsenal squad let alone team and surely as they are top of league that’s who we should measure against and the level required.

Midfield is not our only problem CBs is a real mess.

What was you all saying previously when I said Deligt can’t be relied on because he misses so many games through injury!

For one reason or another the whole back line is just nowhere near good enough.

Amad was by far the worst player on the pitch for me, why does our best goal threat get moved out of his main position for Amad who has not done a lot this season in fact he has only ran around. very rarely does you contribute for goals and assists.

West Ham V Manchester United

West ham have found a little bit of form in recent games winning 4 of their last 5 games. Nuno has been able to galvanize them a little bit. Castelllanos looks a good signing and Summerville is really starting to look a player. They are in proper dog fight down there at the bottom of the table and no doubt they will be doing all they can to get a result at home against us.

However they have a poor record at home losing 8 of their games there this season. And as we have over the seasons, once the home fans start to become discontent, it becomes a very difficult place to play for their own team. But I think they will be somewhat buoyed by their form in recent games.

I expect and intense opening to the game, both teams will come out, going for it, no doubt.

We have seen in recent games, our own intensity level has gone up too and I'm sure they will want to score early. If we can do that, I think we will pick up another win.

I'm going to go 2-1 to us.

On that big pitch, I expect bruno and the front 3 being able to exploit the spaces.

We have a poor recent record at west ham but i one was ETHs last game and the other DDG chucked the ball in his own net so if Lammens can avoid that i am confident.

West Ham are in good form. Summerville is on fire and likely to cause United some issues.

United don’t seem to get on that well away at West Ham for whatever reason.
