You can please some of the people some of the time.

Our recent transfer activity has been pants so this window was a revelation.

Firstly, we managed to ship out those we felt we didn't need. I'm particulat pleased to see Rashford, Garnacho, and Sancho out the door as they had questionable attitudes, and Antony as we was just poor.

We had 2 glaring issues last year, an inability to convert chances, and an unrelaible keeper. We've completely chnaged the front line with 2 proven players and a talented youngster who may or may not deliver. We've also signed a young GK, again with potential. Awesome work.

Yes midfield still needs work but there is a limit to what can be done in 1 window. We had MF targets but they didn't come off. It still doesn't take anything away from what was a good window for us.

Let's see what RA can do with what he has been given, I expect us to score a lot more goals and for the mood generally to be better without the whingers.

They are not all whingers AJH. Maybe Antony and Sancho. Personally I always felt Rashford was better at centre forward than out on the whing ?.

A great window ajh anyone saying otherwise probably follows goldbridge.
As you say some problem players shipped out and quality brought in in their position.
I'm hoping lammens is a good addition hopefully more de gea than onana let's not forget de gea needed 2 seasons.
The fan in me wanted a midfield rebuild but let's be really honest with Bruno and casemiro not moving till next season we were never going to sign a quality midfielder.

Top post ?.

Agreed AJH, top post. Unruly, Rashford was most definitely a disruptive influence. His on pitch demeanour was being replicated by our young players. He's a local lad so I want him to do well, but there's no doubt in my mind that his constant moaning was part of the toxic culture that is being addressed. I'm delighted with the window. We have better characters, better players in now than we had a couple of years back. The GK is a risk and a DM would have been great but we've revamped the defence and the attack now between this summer and last. While there's a lot of negativity I do think we've largely done well. De Ligt, Yoro, Mazraoui, Mbeumo, Cunha, Sesko, . Those players are considerably better than the players they've replaced.

I think it's been a really positive window. Outgoings and incomings but also, the way the club have conducted and got deals done. Don't think we've been pushed around, not been held to ransom and we've certainly changed the way we act in the transfer market for the positive.

As for the GK, I'm not sure what GK wouldn't be a risk? You can certainly maybe limit it but if you go off the data which seems to be a common approach now, Martinez is as guilty for mistakes as Onana, Lammens has the best save rate in Europe. Make of that what you will but it's just a position that doesn't have an instant solution. For me, the GK was an issue, we've conceded 6 goals this season and at least 4 have been GK errors and the club have looked to address the problem. I still think we can get through the season with our midfield and believe Mainoo will have an important role in that position.

“Martinez is as guilty for mistakes as Onana. ”

What?
Is that comment serious?

Onana is the worst keeper I have ever seen at United by a country mile. Including Bosnich and Tiabi.

Martinez isn’t prefect, and obviously, like every keeper, he makes mistakes.

But mistakes are so fundamental to the way Onana plays that you can’t even class them as mistakes. That’s just who he is. Mistakes for Onana are like taking a poop for everyone else. We know that if he doesn’t make one on any given match day, he’s going to make two during the next one.

Don't know what to tell you Danny, the stats last season for errors leading to chances Martinez is 2nd behind Raya, errors leading to goals Onana was 3 goals and Martinez was 1 goal. If you go off data like I said, there's not a great deal in it. Data appears to be an important aspect of scouting now. Now I agree with you about Onana, he's awful, he looks to heavy to be a GK imo. But we've addressed the GK position, I think Lammens goes straight in and I hope he does and I hope this has a positive impact knowing there's a GK you trust behind you.
