Question for eds

Is there any truth to the stories of spurs and inter bids for Martial and is that a signal that the player is available and club wants to sell him or is it because he might be looking to move or is it just all bs.

X Files

{Ed004's Note - I don't think so}

1.) 15 Aug 2017 19:51:28
ed004

LOL which part don't you think so?

{Ed004's Note - That they have bid or that Martial is looking to move}

10 Aug 2017 13:34:27
quite a few sites reporting we have signed the PSG Fullback.

X Files

1.) 10 Aug 2017 14:14:17
Will he get a visa.

{Ed007's Note - I'm sure I read Ed002 on one of the sites say it wouldn't be a problem mate.}

2.) 10 Aug 2017 14:27:27
I see that X. Be nice to have a back up or a rotation for Valencia.

Aurier looks a decent player. If signed, Jose building a very physical squad.

3.) 10 Aug 2017 14:32:57
He apparently can play on the left aswell.

I'm hoping it's true I've got a tenner on it 😀.

4.) 10 Aug 2017 14:57:11
Haha odds Dave?

5.) 10 Aug 2017 15:10:06
I have only seen reports suggesting that we have agreed personal terms with him, and nothing with PSG yet.

6.) 10 Aug 2017 15:29:19
All comes from the same website.

7.) 10 Aug 2017 15:35:37
Got it at 16/ 1 but soon shot down 3/ 1 funnily enough it was after ed002s update.

8.) 10 Aug 2017 16:10:44
Yeah eds been spot on so far. Next sharkopod going to be very good.

22 Jun 2017 20:28:55
Any truth to the rumor we are now bidding on marquinos.

X Files

1.) 22 Jun 2017 21:10:03
Doubt it mate, surely Bailly and Lindelof will be our first choice paring next year.

2.) 22 Jun 2017 21:35:04
Unless we are looking at playing 3 at the back! I think in the next few weeks we are going to buy big. Fabinho, Morata, Perisic and maybe James!

3.) 22 Jun 2017 22:17:58
The James rumours seem to be building up momentum again. What's changed in the last few days?

4.) 23 Jun 2017 00:25:17
The papers have run out of new players to link to us, so have now gone back to james.

Thats what's changed.

5.) 23 Jun 2017 06:23:09
Some media outlets saying the bid for Marquinhos was lodged before we got Lindelof - inferring he was 2nd choice or we did want them both. media. so who knows.

6.) 23 Jun 2017 09:50:42
Not james. I don't understand the hype with him.

7.) 23 Jun 2017 10:05:03
6 goals at a world cup including goal of the tournament matey that's where the hype started.

8.) 23 Jun 2017 10:31:52
and ended.

9.) 23 Jun 2017 11:32:33
Where would we play James?

10.) 23 Jun 2017 12:07:51
XFiles Marqinhos may be lined up to play on the wing. The fans apparently do not see the need for a winger so a defender who can be shifted to the wing may be the way to go.

11.) 23 Jun 2017 13:41:06
Does Lindelof not play full back for Sweden? Maybe Jose is thinking of a back 4 with Lindelof, Bailley, Marquinhos and Fabinho with either of Marquinhos or Fabinho able to push in to midfield if we go to a back 3.

12.) 23 Jun 2017 23:42:22
Sometimes I'm not sure whether some posts are sarcastic or not.

13.) 25 Jun 2017 14:33:38
Redpaul . so a cb at right back and a rb/ dm at leftback? sounds good to me . PHilthered obvious enough for you?

31 Jul 2016 11:31:52
“Next week we can seal the deal, ” he told La Stampa.

Quote from Riola to an italian paper.

X Files

1.) 31 Jul 2016 15:36:07
you would have to think it would all be done and dusted this week.

2.) 31 Jul 2016 17:21:41
Please God let it be done.

3.) 31 Jul 2016 20:43:38
it will happen this week a few will leave and it looks like fabinho will come in he would give us a very tall athletic defence along with a big powerfull first team zlat fellaini pogba shinds martial rashford all big powerfull guys i have not been this excited by a tranfer window as this in ages pogboom will boss the other prem midields like yaya used to. in his prime but even better lol.

4.) 31 Jul 2016 20:44:01
He is due back back to juve on 6th I can't see him going back there to train if he is moving so if not sorted by then it won't be I'd say.

5.) 31 Jul 2016 21:15:37
What a ridiculous statement, ken.

6.) 31 Jul 2016 21:57:38
Why mpez?

7.) 01 Aug 2016 00:59:56
What does a player going back to training have to do with transferring or not? He was always due back on August 6th.

8.) 01 Aug 2016 05:14:21
That is my point, do you seriously think algeri or juve want him there causing distraction if they plan to sell him, do you think he wants to train with juve for a few days if he intends leaving?
its a distraction both parties want to avoid.

9.) 01 Aug 2016 09:31:33
I agree with Ken on that one. If it's to be done at all, you'd expect it to be done before that.

23 Jun 2016 17:17:13
Was on a flight back from Doha with Solgado, who i know well and he goes down there as pundit for BEIN Sports Coverage of some of the games. HE said DDG will go to real after the euros, which was very surprising. also mentioned Morata is not going anywhere and real will keep him.

Ballache has just announced on Sly Sports that Madrids interest In De Gea has gone and he himself wants stay here at United and see how things go under Mourinho? Very conflicting. I hope you're best mate Solgados just pulling your leg.

Ballache isn't the best person to believe and doesn't always get it right, but he did call it when De Gea transfer broke down last season, he pointed out Madrids flaws in the transfer and rightfully said they was putting the blame on us when in fact it was them who scuppered the deal.

2.) 23 Jun 2016 20:37:52
Solgado sleeps in Real Madri pajamas. Of course he'd say that.

3.) 23 Jun 2016 20:45:14
Dont know how much ballache should get credit for that CR92.

From what i remember he simply stated that the deadline was 11pm or whatever and that la liga don't give extensions no matter how big the club is.

All he did really was just tell the time lol.

4.) 23 Jun 2016 21:12:55
I remember him stating how the whole saga went (the problems that occured), and after he made it clear that Real was probably the one in the wrong AND no matter what La Liga chiefs (FA equivelent) wouldn't allow Real to get the deal done. All the blame was being pinned on to United from Reals end, Balague came out after everything and stated it WAS probably Madrid who scuppered it and are now trying to cover it up.

5.) 24 Jun 2016 03:37:01
He talks complete non sense balague. He has this season alone claimed we had sanches signed and few others. Makes constant claims and generally makes other statements when pretty much every body also knows tge facts.

He is not a mate but my son is in his academy and teammates with his son. He is actually a celta vigo guy and loves that club.

watching highlights of the game again. we had a stone cold penalty and also some fouls by city players which were deliberate and professional fouls and he never carded anyone.

Not making excuses but the ref was poor.

X Files

1.) 11 Dec 2017 17:02:32
On paper we had an attacking team, in the first half we sat back and our defenders hoofed the ball up the field. Not near good enough,
I don't think the ref was the problem.

2.) 11 Dec 2017 18:55:04
Agreed Leahy. To blame the ref sounds like an excuse. We did not deserve anything out of the game and we got what we deserved.

3.) 11 Dec 2017 20:55:01
Sorry, Shahram. if you're talking about the Herrera dive, then I suggest you get a new pair of spectacles, mate. Stone cold dive, and a part of his game along with rolling around the ground like he's been shot by a sniper, that I really don't care for.

4.) 12 Dec 2017 04:08:00
Standard Pep team approach. Cynical fouls against you on the edge of your own box are very rarely carded, even though they are clearly cynical. If you think back his teams have always done this and got away with it. This gives a huge benefit to overloading players around the opposition's box and is a major element of City's defense.

It's like the old belief that Italian/ German defenders are all brilliant. They just foul and get away with it. Chris Smalling does the same today, but we don't call it good defending!

{Ed001's Note - it saves him having to bother to teach them how to defend though and makes him look like the messiah.}

17 Sep 2017 10:31:42
I was watching Brady yesterday and what on earth were we thinking when we sold that kid. He has pace, great left foot, can pass and cross and get up and down the channel. We do some stupid stuff as a club including selling keane.

X Files

1.) 17 Sep 2017 11:16:06
X he plays for a team that would find it difficult to achieve back to back top 10 finishes. Don't see how we have gone wrong here, same with Keane who also played for the same team and if today we beat Everton by 2 or more goals in relegation zone they go.

2.) 17 Sep 2017 11:24:48
Whose place do you think he takes in this current team or squad? Same for keane.

If for example smalling and lingard were at burnely and brady and keane still with us, most fans would want the latter two sold and the former brought back.

Hardly the monumentally stupid mistake you're making it out to be in my opinion x files.

3.) 17 Sep 2017 14:22:46
As young players they wanted to play regularly. Which I don't blame them for. Who wants to be playing under 23 games for united an hoping for injuries to get a chance when you can move and play premier league regularly albeit at a smaller club. I don't blame them for leaving and fair play to the club for letting them go.

10 Sep 2017 08:19:11
Interesting weekend and it reconfirmed what i believe will be top 4 sides this year. Chelsea, a very good spurs team that dismantled everton away and a city team that looks loaded and will have many lopsided scores and a united team that looked hungover from the international break.

X Files

1.) 10 Sep 2017 10:50:19
X files. All true but I thought we were lacking defensively and Jones reverted to being a clown in defence. Also, the lack of natural left back and width is going to be our undoing this year. We looked very predictable and will struggle again this year if we don't fix this problem.

2.) 10 Sep 2017 15:39:49
sch

I thought we looked lazy in the middle of the park with pogba looking very leggy. We were slow in releasing the ball and finding the right pass. I also thing Darmian at left back is not a solution and a back 4 that seemed quite settled got all mixed up. the second goal was a bit amateurish by jones but then again i think Pogba and herrera were quite poor and rash had a bad game starting with a simple pass that he scoffed that could have put lukaku through on that counter in the first half having watched the full game now.

I think a healthy shaw will be great especially if he does not go missing on the defensive end. so keeping fingers crossed. We clearly missed fellaini and looked lacking in midfield and gave them way too much ball in the middle of the pitch.

01 Sep 2017 16:34:13
Just a observation and not united related. The french league is joke and i have never seen anything like it. loaning out mbappe to PSG to solve the issue that financially they could not buy him outright is the biggest farce i have ever witnessed in any league anywhere were the first place team lends their best player to the team that finished second lol. There is something very rotten brewing in that league.

I wonder if chelsea would lend us Hazzard:)

1.) 01 Sep 2017 16:56:13
It stinks and shows the world that all the curruption and brown envelope culture still exists and is thriving.

{Ed002's Note - This is not corruption at all. It is simply business and it is a loan to buy.}

2.) 01 Sep 2017 18:04:15
There's nothing really corrupt. The player wanted the move, PSG offered a huge sum for him, Monaco decided that it's better to not have a massive distraction at the club.

3.) 01 Sep 2017 18:05:04
Monaco thought they won't get a better deal than that.

4.) 01 Sep 2017 17:22:15
Accepted that it's business and that the paper work In this deal will be in perfect order and it will no doubt be within the rules ed002. It does seem to have been a deliberate ploy to structure the deal in such a way that allows them circumnavigate the ffp rules. I don't know all the rules so withdraw my curruption remark. I do think its against the 'spirit' of the game and not in the best interests of the game in general to allow any club to flaunt the rules in such a way.

{Ed002's Note - Loans to buy are very, very common.}

5.) 01 Sep 2017 20:06:58
You see this type of deal all the time just not for the top end players.

6.) 01 Sep 2017 20:17:07
The spirt of the game?

The spirt of the game has been about money for a long long time. If United didn't dominate the English transfer market in the 90s the club would be in a very different position now. There's no moral high ground at the top end of football, just lots of money to be made.

PSG know that they can't buy both Neymar and Mbappe in the same window. The lad wanted to move to PSG, and was a distraction for Monaco. PSG were willing to pay silly money, so Monaco did the smart thing and went with a loan with the obligation to buy.

If PSG are found to be in breach of FFP, they will be punished. But if they're not, then they've just employed a common practice to secure a player they wanted.

7.) 01 Sep 2017 20:22:04
I mean the biggest issue is that the nature of the Neymar deal meant PSG couldn't pay in instalments.

Is paying in instalments against the spirit of the game too because it effectively allows clubs to spread transfer expenditure over a number of years, and this has implications for FFP.

{Ed002's Note - No, the deal with Barcelona was it had to be paid in full. Spreading the cost over more than one season just eats up money from elsewhere - in the big scheme of things that doesn't help.}

8.) 01 Sep 2017 20:29:16
But what would the punishment be?

{Ed002's Note - For what?}

9.) 01 Sep 2017 20:52:28
Who cares man we don't even know if the kids going to be any good yet ed 002 has been saying for ages psg were after a high profile french player and now they have one (albeit potentially) .

10.) 01 Sep 2017 20:53:12
I understand a loan to buy deal but never seen one between league rivals that included their best players and ones that are mentioned as being future balon d'or winner. The argument that price was so good that Monaco went with the deal is not a valid argument as the buy is optional. It is just a very strange deal.

Would Barcelona loan Messi to RM or RMl loan Ronaldo to Barca. TOP teams in the PL league seem to resist selling to each other even their so so players. The fans would have a mutiny if something like this happened.

11.) 02 Sep 2017 01:14:36
I don't see how it's any different to Arsenal selling us RVP or Chelski selling Mata or Matic to us. Every player has a price and PSG have agreed to pay it. That the cash won't change hands until next summer seems somewhat irrelevant in this situation.

12.) 01 Sep 2017 23:15:51
For breaching FFP. What's the punishment? Last time it was a stern warning. No deterrent at all.

{Ed002's Note - No, PSG fined €60M (part deferred), had a spending cap imposed and had their Champions League squad allowance reduced from 25 to 21. Numerous clubs have been fined, warned, had caps introlduced and have been banned from FIFA competition. This is a good example why we avoid discussion on money and such matters as many of the fans are like you, and simply don't understand at all.}

13.) 02 Sep 2017 09:38:48
Fining teams owned by oil millionaires means nothing. It clearly had no impact on psg.

{Ed002's Note - The fine is for the team, not the owners. It is clear you simply don't understand any of this hence you ridiculouse post and stupid comment.}

14.) 02 Sep 2017 11:59:21
The fine goes to a team owned by millionaires who just pay it for the team. Admit it ffp has had zero impact.

{Ed002's Note - No they don't. You don't understand. Why don't you just drop it? You are embarrassing yourself.}

15.) 02 Sep 2017 12:35:27
*nonsense removed*

{Ed001's Note - you clearly do not understand so this is pointless. Give it up please. You are wrong, so let's just leave it at that.}

16.) 02 Sep 2017 14:08:38
Fair enough ed its a complex subject. Still stand by the point that ffp does not work. There's no real deterrent to a team like psg.

{Ed002's Note - That is because you don't understand - and they have not done anything wrong - unless you happen to know otherwise.}

2.) 24 Aug 2017 17:59:43
We should win that group. Scousers got the best draw out of all the english clubs.

3.) 24 Aug 2017 18:00:42
Chelsea and Spurs very tough groups.

5.) 24 Aug 2017 18:54:24

6.) 24 Aug 2017 18:56:41
Heated balls for Liverpool, very tough for us, no mugs at the top table x.

7.) 24 Aug 2017 19:08:58
im gutted lads, absolutely gutted.

8.) 24 Aug 2017 20:03:03
I hope Martial and Rashford can be super subs who can get / set up that vital winning goal, especially away from home.
I'd make sure Rashford spends a number of training sessions purely on his finishing. He can beat several defenders and gets himself into great goal scoring chances, only to rush a finish. He just needs to learn more composure in front of goal.
Great that all the younger players can show what they can do in The Champions League.

9.) 24 Aug 2017 20:56:52
Great draw but it also shows what a load of crap the start of the CL is .

Awful comp until the knock out stages imo.

10.) 24 Aug 2017 21:43:18
ERM, last time we had them two we never got out of group.

11.) 24 Aug 2017 23:27:23
Yep very familiar group and last time we had he same team we finished 3rd, we need to win that first game, get at least a point in Moscow and then go from there. Saying we are in the knockout stages is ridiculous.

I think that's a bit of an overstatement tony. They have a better squad and most people will not argue that. They will always have more possession because of how they play but we are very close and will not be one bit surprised if we beat them at their place later in the year.

We are not as deep as they are and when missing players like Pogba, and out of form mik and fellaini believe it or not which i though if we are going to play long balls is 10 times better than lukaku in terms of winning headers and being able to control the ball and bring other players into it.

we conceded 2 terrible goals and still should not have lost the game. For all their possession dog made one really good save from Debruyne and they had very little to show.

at the moment everything is going their way bounce of the ball and no injuries what so ever. let's wait and see how they respond when things are not going their way.

I would drop Mata and play Ozil in the number 10 role. he would be our Scholes which we have never been able to replace. Would have to play 4231.

Stick Griezeman on the right and rash/ martial based on from and merit get to play on the left with lusaka on top and then you have a scary team with Pogba and Matic in there.

I have always said judge the man after 3 windows. i don't believe we will win CL after next summer but firmly believe we will have the nucleus off a great team that will need minor adjustments. We were in 6th/ 7th place last year this time and miles off. we have come a long way and the fact that we expect to win every game says a lot which was not the case 12 months ago.

We had 23 shots and 73% possession the other night. we dug ourselves a hole by conceding early. our defense is a makeshift outfit week in week out at the moment and we are conceding a lot more compared to first 10 games. I still think we will finish second and that is a big step in the right direction given where we have been last few years.

Not going to be a popular view but since he has been out we have dipped. he changed quite a few games for us in our good run by coming in or starting and we looked a lot more in control of midfield.

I would sign him to a new contract as he gives us a different lever when needed to pull. I agree with Jose if that is the real case and he wants him to stay.

People talking nonsense imo. I watch the other teams too and we have more opportunities (except city) . We have so many chances but so so poor in our finishing and decision making and its the players. Its fashionable to blame Jose though. Yesterday should have been 5-1 or 6-1 and and a no contest and people would be praising and gushing about our attacking style.

The reality is we have lots of games in the festive period and you need some calmn, tough seasoned players who can handle the stress both physically and mentally and this group is very new, young and not coping with it well.

What is driving me crazy watching them at the moment is lack of composure and calmness when defending or attacking.

He can't come out for the second goal as that cross is coming across the middle of the his box with so many players potentially getting a touch on it. If he commits and goes where it ended up and simple touch or bounce of a player goes into an empty goal people would be saying what on earth was he doing out there.

The fact that it went over all our defenders and ends up where it did is a defensive mistake and not DDG.

Martial is a much better player and has a lot more dimensions to his game and also always looks to pass to a teammate in a better position. Rash is very one dimensional head down and run.

He also has free reign brought in towards the end of games when there is tons of space for him to run into. He is super selfish and Lukaku must be exasperated given the last 2 games and how a simple pass will have him probably score and being ignored.

Not sure what he was thinking when 2 on 2 with lukaku making a run and he just stopped and pulled it back. The last 2 games is all on them and not the manager imo. You can lead a horse to water but you can't force them to drink as they say.

What Jose said was spot on and about time. BTW Fergie also did a lot of that so don't know where people are getting this stuff from that Fergie never said anything in public. Personally saw him rip them after games saying their performance was unacceptable and it will be sorted. usually meant major changes to line up and certain players being in the dog house.
