The Women's team are continuing their fabulous start to the season.
Tonight was second ever game in Champions League proper, away to Atletico Madrid, Despite having a player sent off in the first half we won the game 1-0.
Whilst playing some good attacking football this season they have been excellent defensively, only 4 goals conceded in 11games played in total. Ultimately it's your defence that wins the trophies.
Seemingly, Tullis-Joyce (goalkeeper) was excellent again tonight. Biggest compliment you can give her, is that Mary Earps has not really been missed.
Let's hope they can keep this level of performance going.
Go Girl's.

Ridiculous red card after VAR. Tackling leg on the ground studs down, trailing leg with foot pulled back. The knee caught the attacker. Really hardly a yellow never mind a red. Clearly influenced by the injury more than the tackle. Would never have been given in the men's game, unless the tackler was called Casemiro.
Tullis-Joyce is an excellent keeper. In attack they do tend to squander a few very good chances but the team has certainly not gone backwards despite the club getting a lot of criticism for its trades, and letting (assuming they had a choice) top players leave.

newname, yes quite right, the red card was very, very harsh. The ref only gave a yellow and that was more than enough.
As for scoring, in WSL we are second highest scorers with 16 from 6 games, only behind City who have 17. Our attacking play has been much improved this season and that has been, in part, through the outstanding form of Jess Park. She was signed last summer as part of the deal with City when Grace Clinton signed for them.
Losing Clinton was disappointing but she only had 12 months left on her contract and it looked likely she would not renew so rather than potentially losing her for free (as we did with Russo and Earps) the sensible decision was taken to sell. As it turned out we received more for her than we paid for Park and given the form of Park many are saying we very much got the best of the deal.
You reference letting top players leave, assume you are referring to Russo and Earps, but that was very much not the case. Considerable effort was put into trying to get them to sign new deals, with significant salaries on offer, particularly to Russo.
They however had decided to leave, as was their right, but as you say the team has not gone backwards, indeed I think we have moved on and improved a fair amount.
