I see Garnacho has liked a post on Instagram outlining Cristiano Ronaldo's recent criticism of ETH, then unliked it. So that likely means there will be retribution by ETH on Garnacho again.
There is clearly something bubbling under the surface at the club, something not solved by merely giving ETH an extension, albeit a short one. Garnacho is a young Argentinian, it always appears Argentines are highly emotional about their football.
No, he shouldn't be using social media like that but it has to be asked if this is just scraping the surface. He surely cannot be the only one and whilst it may be born out of frustration at lacking of playing time at the start of the season it's not the way to deal with it.
We should all be able to see the over favouritism to Rashford keeping him out of the team, some of us will have experienced that selection frustration. I know I did when I played sport and expressed it to other players, however social media wasn't around then.
It's clearly annoying for us, so for a young player with that talent, who, when sub came on, created and scored yet still gets left out for someone in Rashford who is at best phlegmatic, must be creating inconceivable anger at his age, someone bursting to play. Someone whose actual play and talent should be starting every game now.
What I am also concerned at is another over reaction by the manager. He has history. Wilcox and co need to quickly look at why such a talented young player feels that way and clearly has done consistently with ETH. Are there others and why. Start there.
Garnacho should be in the first team, ETH would be kicking himself in the foot (again) if he starts creating trouble with another talented player. Old saying, met an a*****e but if everyone you meet is an a*****e, maybe you are the a*****e.
ETH note and he cannot afford to ostracise more players, especially a very talented, important popular player when the most loyal fans booed ETH for taking him off in the last game.
12 Sep 2024 13:23:55
Garnacho does something stupid and immature following on from Ronaldo throwing his toys out of the pram again .
Lets see, how can i make this Ten Hag's fault?
12 Sep 2024 14:05:04
Bilko, perhaps it hasn't crossed your mind yet, but Ronaldo was absolutely right in all that he said.
12 Sep 2024 14:11:20
Bilko,
The Ronaldo post was about ETH and ETh did not handle the Sancho situation at all well. He continues to favourite Rashford. eTH fault? Not on Garnacho liking the post that’s on Garnacho, but there is something still not right in the club. Continuing to lose when seeing favouritism and at times disorganised lack of effort in the team, flags concerns something is not in harmony.
12 Sep 2024 14:19:12
How to make a mountain out of a mole hill 101 ?.
12 Sep 2024 14:21:56
Perhaps it has'nt crossed Ronaldo's mind yet that he was part of the problem in his second coming for United . just like he's been part of the problem for Portugal at the last two international tournaments, but never mind no doubt he'll hang around for the next couple too.
12 Sep 2024 14:26:47
For god's sake Redman, this daily diatribe of nonsense and drivel is getting utterly ridiculous.
We get it, it's just hate, hate, from you. You trawl the press looking for any nonsense that you can present in a detrimental way to justify your totally intransigent views and dismiss anyone who has an opposite opinion.
It's fine for anyone who does not think ETH is the right man to say so and put forward their view's. However this absolute obsession, with endless attempts to justify yourself is, at best, tedious.
Before you come back with one of your 'I was there in the 70s and 80s when things were bad blah, blah, blah' and imply you should get some form of medal for actually supporting your club, you need to remember that is the reality for 95% of football fans All the time.
I would also point out that during those times I too went to the home games and some of the away and for some of the time, home games for me involved a 3 day journey. I did it through choice, to support my club, not expecting to weaponize this at some time in the future.
In the year's I have been reading your post's, I have never seen you support your club at ANY time, you should try it, it brings me a lot of joy.
12 Sep 2024 14:56:02
He liked a post on social media? Whatever next? A full essay on this is crazy Red Man, I saw the story yesterday, rolled my eyes and moved on, I think that would be good advice here.
12 Sep 2024 14:56:21
I concur. The subject has been done to death. Let's wait and see what happens. I hope we turn it around. If not, I expect ETH will be gone. Even those who are prepared to give him chance will not be too concerned under that circumstance. I feel sure the new management team have already been preparing for that eventuality. In the meantime let's just try to take the pressure off the players and the manager by ignoring the constant garbage regurgitated by various recyclers of rumors, and lazy journalists.
12 Sep 2024 15:21:39
Sad thing is an awful lot of the pressure on the players and manager is coming from the small army of ex United players and coaches who are clogging up the media at present.
12 Sep 2024 16:13:34
Good point Bilko, issue is how do some some of these people retain any kind of relevance (in their view) and keep their names visible. Nothing beats attacking Man Utd as it gets them media inches.
I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that the tsunami of criticism from the entirety of the media (and many of our 'fans') has a detrimental effect on the club and this in turn will affect team performances.
Clearly, best way to have a go back at them is to start playing well and winning.
Just finally got to say though, Dwight Yorke talks some absolute and complete bollox and is about the worse of them. (Sorry Ahmed! )
12 Sep 2024 16:23:28
I’m not sure how Ronaldo can talk, since he left we’ve been scoring bags of goals without him. Oh wait ?.
12 Sep 2024 16:50:06
Red Man,
ETH treated Sancho a lot better than a lot of other managers would have and a lot better than he deserved.
Remember when he let him go to Holland for a few months to work with coaches and get his head straight, and on his first game back as he was being subbed on Ten Hag was standing beside him like a proud father.
And then Sancho returned the favour by behaving like a spoilt brat.
12 Sep 2024 16:58:00
Well, we were scoring bags of goals when he was here weren't we. Oh wait.
12 Sep 2024 16:58:18
Starting to sound like Government control over what people post on social media, communist North Korea type control, it’s into what we can say about football now. I must trot back to my little shed and produce the vegetables the collective needs without further comment.
Whatever, I post what I see, Garnacho did it before and there was much debate and ETH was riled about it. Let’s see what happens. It would be very dull and vanilla if we talk about rah rah rah all lovely and everything so nice.
Ronaldo has a beef but there is something not right.
12 Sep 2024 17:24:30
Bilko
Sancho gets little sympathy from me. Can’t call the manager a liar. I wanted him gone but didn’t want him in the first place. However, it all started from an unnecessary comment by ETH in a press conference about his training and that’s what I referred to.
I would also gently flag that the esteemed ED02 said ETH should have gone in summer. We are now with him and he hasn’t started well. Must improve dramatically in next two games and win them.
12 Sep 2024 17:26:23
How many Trophies did we win with Ronaldo on 550k pounds a week. How many teams came in for him after his fall out with our manager. How many top teams came out publicly which they usually don't when it comes to rumours and said they are not interested.
Ronaldo has always been about Ronaldo and atm the curse of an unbelievable Portugal team which is underperforming when it matters. Once they drop him they might have a chance of winning a major trophy.
Roy keane was a bigger player for our club than Ronaldo and he was shown the door when he was deemed disruptive.
Onto some real news that matters Hoiland and shaw not ready to play but training and making good progress.
In other news I am sure you will find something in the presser from eth today (have not seen it personally), put a twist on it and write an essay about it and reconfirm your negative views of him. Have at it and don't disappoint me.
12 Sep 2024 17:34:50
That Redman, is the response I would expect from a petulant teenage schoolgirl.
You are on here constantly telling people what to think, when someone posts anything opposite your view you tell them they are wrong. That seems to be exactly what North Korean control is about.
No one is telling you what to post, that is up to you, people are saying that what you posted was nonsense, lacking judgement and any kind of reason or objectivity. It was a desperate use of a nonsense story purely and simply to launch an attack.
I genuinely expected better from you Redman.
12 Sep 2024 17:44:44
I think we are stuck with him for the best part of this season.
Unless we completely capitulate.
Can he turn it around? I don't think so.
He is not a man to be trusted.
The singer he goes the better as far as I'm concerned but it's in his hands.
The vast majority think our summer business was well above average and a huge improvement is needed on last season. I would say plus 15 points minimum yoy is not an unreasonable expectation given the money spent.
A positive goal difference is also a fair expectation I think.
12 Sep 2024 17:58:15
Redman
You are starting to sound like trump, you see conspiracy and a plot every where. Just because you think Garnacho should start ahead of rash and the manager does not see it that way, it is not a form of punishment as you like to think. some stuff is just very simple, don't overthink it.
12 Sep 2024 18:21:08
Garnacho is such a Ronaldo fan boy, he probably liked the post or video or whatever the moment he saw it without actually knowing what Ronaldo was saying.
12 Sep 2024 18:22:53
Ronaldo scored a goal every other game. No other player since has come close to that feat have they. Yet no he doesn’t have a point at all. You lot should play in defence for Ten Hag we would walk the league.
12 Sep 2024 18:24:25
I rely don't care who he picks very rare for me to criticise team selection. The manager bloke is the only one that can pick his team and he will have his reasons.
All we can judge is what's produced by his selections. His selections got us to 8th last season and produced a negative goal difference somehow. Lots of changes and fit players this season so it will be interesting to see where we end up with his team selections this season.
3 relatively easy league fixtures ahead of us and 2 very easy cup ties. Great chance to take a couple of steps forward and build momentum.
12 Sep 2024 18:35:13
IWOTB
You were telling me what I should post
Chill, sounds like you are getting worked up, not good for you.
12 Sep 2024 18:39:23
Ahmad
I do think Garnacho should start in front of Rashford. Given the manager was booed at the last game I don’t think I am alone.
Conspiracy? This isn’t who shot JFK. This was about a player liking a post which was critical of the manager. Looks like some are a bit jumpy
Has to start winning and showing a pattern. That simple with the games ahead.
12 Sep 2024 19:35:29
It's a squad game, Garnacho had a big summer, Rashford did not. maybe in a few games time Garnacho is starting ahead of Rashford.
The spin will be there though, 'finally eth has seen what we've seen for weeks' etc etc.
Are the moaners at the training sessions each day? Are they consulting the physios about any potential knocks etc.
Blah blah blah.
For the people that don't like eth, just post once saying, I hate eth, and then don't post again until he is sacked.
12 Sep 2024 19:42:22
Tumble
You were all convinced he was gone last year and still not over. Am I surprised it only took 2 losses for all of you to plaster post after post on this page calling for his head, not at all and kind of predictable behavior.
I don't feel I am stuck with eth. We are stuck in a rebuild and transition and work in progress. The squad is missing players, new players yet to feature and early season fitness issues not even seen what we are capable.
Ask me how I feel later in the season and I could change my mind if things don't improve having had enough games under our belt. f
Some of the exact same people on this page were in overdrive and meltdown mode, total overreaction about Ineos winning bid and according to them we were finished and that was the end of united.
I don't see The Rat posts anymore and I guess by now most realize we have a really good owner who has the clubs best interest at heart.
All of this will pass imo, its hyperbole overreaction and typical football behavior. Will be lose more games for sure, will we have some bad performances, bank on it.
12 Sep 2024 20:23:04
Redman, I repeat, I was most certainly not telling you what to post, I was merely pointing out the complete nonsense contained therein, if you feel the need to continue in such a vein it is entirely your prerogative, just as it is mine to respond.
It seems clear to me that your need to endlessly invent reason to launch these tedious little groups of attack dog mentality would suggest that you are indeed the one who needs to chill, as you are obviously completely obsessed with ETH. It would seem he is living, rent free inside your head.
12 Sep 2024 20:23:57
Ahmad
SJR is a minority shareholder taking the task of running the football side. He is not the owner of the club and we still have very notable Glazer involvement because their family own the majority of the club. It is not forgotten and they have not gone away, nor should we forget they are there, I haven’t.
I like the appointments SJR has made on the football side. Also not called for ETH head, this season, they made a decision but my point is that he absolutely has to improve quickly. The start is not acceptable and we must see two wins now.

I take time out of my day to write a post because I have cared about the club since I was very young. I read something and if I think relevant comment on it. It’s the second time Garnacho has done that and I think Ronaldo’s comments were discussed by ETH so there is relevance. I think Ronaldo has a beef with ETH for having to leave the second time. Ronaldo should not have been here a second time. His comments have an edge, but when senior old pros were saying Ole was doing great we were told on here to listen to them. Ronaldo knows how to win, has a great mentality, so why should he be dismissed? He has an opinion just like Scholes and Keane. It’s what Garnacho did was the point and is he alone amongst the players? .
It’s a banter site with wildly different opinions, if you think what I wrote was nonsense, no problem. I thought it was relevant and something for awareness and discussion.
12 Sep 2024 21:16:51
Wow.
Does anyone for one minute think Garnacho’s public socials are run by him and not a team?
Ronnies post would have been an automatic like and once flagged as contentious it would have been unliked.
It’s a non story.
But Ronnie’s right EtH is a loser.
12 Sep 2024 22:11:35
Ahmad I've not called for his head once since he was chosen to be kept in fact the opposite I've maintained he will be given a fair chance and should be.
I don't like him at all. But it's OK that's my opinion of him but they chose to keep him so je will get a chance, if our current form continues for another half dozen games then they have to look at it again I'm sure. I don't expect that to happen. A really good next 5 games. It's a chance to build some momentum get some goals and start performing.
I think we have a squad that could and should be top 4.
Weaknesses I see are obvious and may cost is too many points.
1. Eth
2. Biggest weakness in the squad is our keeper.
3. Lb
I've not called for his head at all. I don't want him there I don't believe in him at all. But I'm quite happy to accept I don't make the decisions. I also think that if you do make that decision that then you need to give a reasonable amount of time.
12 Sep 2024 22:20:58
Jeepers people. It’s a banter site.
Take a breath, eat cheese and drink wine. It’s a mother beautiful day!
13 Sep 2024 08:02:57
Ronaldo walked out against Rayo Vallacano and walked out against Tottenham, Ten Hag stood up to him as he should and Ronaldo didn't like being stood up to.
Some of his old United team mates stood up for him, he was punished by Ten Hag and rightly so.
He can dress up in the media with his sycophants whatever he likes but the fact is he was poisonous in that second spell, he thought he was bigger than the club and still does, he is still poisonous and I can never believe a man who states he wants what's best for the club and he lives them when his actions show it was about him and never the club.
We will never what happened int hat dressing room but I doubt that anyone really stood up to him and put him in his place because that's what was needed and this is perhaps indicative of part of Uniteds problems, they lack the characters with real backbone.
Ronaldo can profess his love for United all he wants and maybe much of his worldwide following will swallow it but its BS, the only thing he loves is himself and his comments about Ten Hag are the comments of a man who is bitter that he was stood up to and is sticking the knife in out of revenge.
13 Sep 2024 08:09:12
Man, this place is nuts, and we're only 3 games in.
13 Sep 2024 08:10:16
Ah. The pro-ETH mafia are in full voice I see. Be careful what you say Red Man. You’ll have a horses head next to you when you wake up.
I think the notion of a ‘true’ Man Utd fan being one that never seriously criticises the manager has been stretched beyond snapping point with some on here. You’re just not a ‘red’ when you do that. It’s the belief that if you stick with a manager long enough that the laws of nature mean they will ‘do a Ferguson’ - because it took him blah-blah years to win something. People overlook how infinitely better than ETH SAF was and ever will be.
You can wait as long as you want with this guy. He’ll pick up Cup scraps whilst already falling behind the likes of Villa, Brighton and Spurs. As for the top three our tactics are light-years behind. But that’s okay. As long as we’re a red and willing to suffer the hope of long term success that will never happen. Doesn’t matter if the manager has the tactical nouse of Mr. Bean or the motivational powers of Liz Truss. Doesn’t matter if he shows loyalty to players who disrespect the shirt. In fact… nothing matters.
But the fact is if you fall into this camp. Fair enough. But accept there are plenty that don’t and they can share stories and opinions just the same.
13 Sep 2024 08:50:15
Excellent post BrD.
13 Sep 2024 10:58:02
If United win their next two games we they could and should, although never guaranteed these days and Arsenal lose their next two which is very possible without Rice and Odegard for the Tottenham game then v City, United will be 2 points ahead of, many people's favourites to win the league. Lots of if's but the point is at this stage of the season, the table can change within a week and have a very different outlook.
Personally, I thought we'd be sitting on 6, maybe 7 points now and had Zirkee's knee been a cm lower, I think we'd be on 6 and who knows then with the Liverpool game but this is just a little bit of luck we are missing at the moment.
I backed ETH for this season but also said he should have til Christmas and I stand by this and I think he will turn it round but if things are not looking rosey, then a big decision will need to be and have to be made.
As for Garnacho, nothing story IMO and the lad probably not even aware of the context of the post he liked, only once it was pointed out did he delete it.
Opinion on Ronaldo, great footballer but he doesn't love the club like he suggests, he plays to the millions of fans the club has but he wanted to leave a year earlier then he did but for SAF. United, like the media and the ex pro's who continue to talk about United just keeps them relevant. Rio Ferdinand personifies this and is just a big a clown as the rest of them.
13 Sep 2024 12:26:48
Rio is a fan just like you ports. So are you a clown? Your opinion is valid but he's a clown for having his opinion. Interesting way of looking at it ?.
13 Sep 2024 13:39:18
No Ken, he's a clown because he uses United to enhance his platform and status and he's not concerned whether the narrative is positive or negative. Someone in his position, if he loves the club like he suggests should be more responsible on what they are putting out there because individuals will take what he is saying as gospel. His opinion is based on the interaction and attention he can get, whether positive or negative. My opinion is of a fan who has invested time, money and, unfortunately a lot of effort particularly in the early years and last few years in a club, a team and players. And every United Supporter can have their opinions and ideas because, for the majority they want what is best for the club, not to self promote.
13 Sep 2024 14:02:12
Rio Ferdinand with the I. Q. of a vacuum cleaner interviews Ronaldo, the most thin skinned man baby this side of Donald Trump.
13 Sep 2024 14:23:49
It's your opinion he is self promoting ports. I disagree I don't think that's his main objective. He is more in the know than you or I. He speaks from better experience than you or I have. He knows the inner workings of the club much better than you or I.
If you don't like what he has to say you don't have to listen.
Or listen and disagree that's fine but his views are no more clown like than yours or mine.
Keane takes polar opinions to court controversy and debate. Nothing wrong with that if he believes what he is saying.
13 Sep 2024 15:32:21
Rio is actually a very smart guy bilko. Maybe not mensa level but I'd suggest most on here are not and I'd wager that his IQ levels are well above the average v posters on this site.
13 Sep 2024 16:59:20
So what you are saying Ken is because you believe his IQ is higher than most of ours on here, has better experience than us, knows the inner workings better than us we should really listen and learn from what he says even if we don’t necessarily agree initially, he’s more likely correct than us? I guess with that in mind, we really should have been listening to him when he was backing Solskjaer and even when he admitted it was time to walk away he said Solskjaer could walk away with his head held high and that the club was in a better position than when Solskjaer arrived. I assume how you feel about Ferdinand you’ll take on board his views on Solskjaer Ken?
13 Sep 2024 18:19:52
Ports that's just daft.
I don't agree with everything his says but I don't think he is dumb and knows nothing.
He has a very successful business portfolio and is very successful outside of his football world.
He is intelligent and articulate and doesn't have the I. Q of a vacuum cleaner.
Iits OK to disagree with someone without questioning their intents or their intelligence.
I didn't agree with his views on ole or some of his punditry or even this latest stuff with ronaldo. I don't question his intent or his intelligence.
13 Sep 2024 18:39:07
His football IQ is all that matters on here and his is the top 1% so deal with it when you’re calling him stupid. You’re talking about the other 99% of the population.
14 Sep 2024 12:00:05
No gnev if he doormat think like you he is stupid and dumb get with the programme.
15 Sep 2024 05:50:35
I have a lot of time for Rio. Said several years ago that I was surprised the club didn’t bring him on board based on his knowledge and experience. Always comes over well, knowledgeable. I don’t agree with all his opinions mind you and his banging the table saying give him (Ole) the contract now was detrimental. Yet his defensive knowledge when we were struggling to defend would have been very helpful.
Apologies for not being on the programme.
