Just on a non-Utd related topic, how good was it to see Harry Kane win the Balon D'Or?
Always comes across as a decent man, still with his childhood sweetheart. Some of the comments about her on social media are disgusting.
And would it have hurt Mbappe or Limal to stand up and shake his hand when he received the trophy?
Class apart.
27 Oct 2026 20:21:43
It was well deserved. Harry has always seemed like a decent lad, and to win at it this stage of his career is great for him.
The selfish attitude of the other nominees is pathetic to see. Yamal is still a kid, and he’s already concerned with breaking Messi’s record. The difference is that Messi was in a team dominating European football, and individual awards always came second to that. A generation of Ronaldos.
27 Oct 2026 20:32:26
It was thoroughly deserved. Kane is a model professional. Ironically, had he joined Utd, he probably wouldn't have won the Ballon D'Or or any other trophies.
A true professional and a role model. Finally, he plays in a team that is deserving of his abilities.
27 Oct 2026 20:43:13
So pleased for Kane and i agree with all of the above. A superb role model for any young player so dedicated and its all reported that he still spends time practising his finishing after training like he has done since he was a kid and he has said it was Beckham that inspired his extra practise.
His goal scoring record is fantastic and im not sure his england one will be broken any time soon.
Like shearer his trophy hall seems a little light i hope he wins the cl with bayern this year (thats unless we are in the final against them but we might not get past the semi final). They are a great team to watch
27 Oct 2026 20:54:27
Limal??? It's a neverending story, alright! 🤦
27 Oct 2026 16:33:16
Well, well, I posted on Saturday about the U18s beating Liverpool 6-3 and the performance of young Rooney and also Camacho scoring 4.
We have this afternoon we played Burnley (decent side, don't confuse with their first team) and we beat them 6-0. Camacho scored again and hit the post.
However, boy Rooney did the business again, as he scored 4 of the goals. 1 right foot, 2 left foot and 1 header, (despite being pretty short). He seems to have the tools required.
Mind you a bit of perspective is the fact that daddy Rooney, at the same age, made his first team debut and scored that screamer for Everton against Arsenal. It's easy to forget how good he was!
27 Oct 2026 17:15:22
Rooney was unreal, fantastic player. Could never understand why people thought he didn't reach his potential.
27 Oct 2026 15:53:43
The stars are aligned. Time to lump on its vs Chelsea, especially given the odds.
They'll win eventually 😜
27 Oct 2026 19:28:18
The same thought came to me, so am in the process of selling the house for quick cash and redeeming the pension pot and putting the whole lot on the win at 3-1.
Seems to me like the soundest investment I have ever made.
I shall be RICH!
27 Oct 2026 19:31:24
Some of us don't have to live out lives to excess to enjoy them.
27 Oct 2026 19:43:06
Jesus, JBR. Any chance of taking a day off?
27 Oct 2026 19:58:51
Well JBR, some do.
27 Oct 2026 14:50:58
I said the other day that our board are so clueless they probably saw the cheering of carrick as a sign that we think he’s a good manager and want him to stay…might not have been too far off on that. Every time I think we can’t get more incompetent they prove me wrong.
27 Oct 2026 16:06:24
No one wants to take over for the next 3 games and can you blame them!
Hopefully SJR also takes the time to replace Wilcox too
But probably wishful thinking but if he is a genuine United supporter he must be considering it.
27 Oct 2026 17:15:14
I think your giving them too much credit mate. Wilcox has to go now his position is untenable
27 Oct 2026 17:53:20
Tim i'm not sure what you do for a living but surely you realise that there will be reasons for not pulling the trigger now they could be numerous.
The gossip mongers are feeding on the frenzy that is financial. It will be a hit and very unwanted but i don't believe that's the sole reason.
I for one agree with them not jumping on howe conte or naglesmann until they do their due dillegence on securing a preferred long term target like emery or huzlar.
For example if either of those indicate they will come in the summer then they are right to consider their options at the moment.
They could also be considering wilcox future so that's another reason to delay for a bit.
We as fans all think that wilcox should be removed after too many errors so in sure sjr and bareda will be looking at that.
1st job Carrick had to do this week imo is sort out the bruno relationship.
Its a time for cool heads at the top and not making the same knee jerk mistakes they have been making.
27 Oct 2026 18:11:16
Apparently there is infighting between vivell and Wilcox both wanting different managers and teachers pet wilcox seems to be someone Ratcliffe trusts. If Wilcox doesn't go and I don't think he will then Vivell will leave. Heard many stories of Vivell suggesting Targets only for Wilcox to overrule him.
27 Oct 2026 18:15:46
Fair enough Ken, my worry is that if we keep going as we are with carrick then we r in danger of relegation. Ideally we keep him for the season etc but just not sure that's going to be feasible if results continue on the current trend.
27 Oct 2026 19:19:31
98% of things people worry about never happen. Don't be worried about things you can't control Tim.
27 Oct 2026 14:32:29
Question. With today’s non-decision taken because the club either have no cash to sack the coaching team/appoint a new one, one of the biggest croticisms labelled against the squad is that they’re not fit enough.
So in my basic mind, is it is feasible we hire a fitness expert in football to come and sort that out? After all, as head fitness coach, you literally have one job!
27 Oct 2026 15:26:25
Or maybe (and it might be a bit of a leap) they don't want to sack Carrick while they assess whether they need to sack the guy that hired him.
27 Oct 2026 15:28:51
I don't have any insider info but find it hard to believe that there has been a dramatic drop off in fitness. The fitness team, coaches etc are all very experienced and have worked for several managers at the club, so they have all the data on all the players.
27 Oct 2026 16:00:42
I’d I’d think this too Shappy. And hope it’s correct.
27 Oct 2026 16:07:37
Like I said above no one wants to come in for next 3 games cos 3 losses will be a bad start so let Carrick take that stick.
27 Oct 2026 18:07:31
Carrick took the job as interim with city and Arsenal as his first 2 games
Nothing to do with people not wanting to take over now that's just bs
No manager is bothered what there first games are.
27 Oct 2026 13:54:06
1973 The Doc was swimming against the tide, the team were failing with older slow players who were thought to be good enough. Bobby retired and they struggled. We just carried on and got relegated. Fast forward and Carrick is swimming against the tide with players who clearly do not rate him nor want to play for him. If he stays i suspect 1974 could well repeat.
The difference was The Doc, and then younger players coming in. The opposite of Carrick, the Doc was full of drive and knew what he was doing, just not with the physios wife, but at least he did on the football pitch.
Right now I feel we have hit 1973 again and they are refusing to see any sense at all. Its beyond me what they are doing and whilst I felt Moyes was a low point, this feels worse.
27 Oct 2026 16:11:08
Not a chance that United go down, even though playing bad enough, but it won’t happen stupid to even think such a thing 10 games in.
It’s awful yes squad is worse than ever but it’s better then the bottom 3 over a season so that pointless worry no matter who in charge.
You could even put the one who said Shaw was world class Sancho was piece of jigsaw and Onana was just perfect signing in charge and with even his dubious choices we would still stay up
27 Oct 2026 19:45:26
Red Man, do you want to put a bet on us being relegated?
Thankfully, there's even worse teams in the league this year! 😁
27 Oct 2026 12:21:37
Carrick given the chance to turn the situation around!
Well that won't happen. Maybe after another hammering vs Chelsea at the weekend they will think again.
Rightly or wrongly the players have lost faith in Carrick. That won't change in the next few days.
Embarrassing to say the least.
27 Oct 2026 12:38:06
I'd say a large reason is they have nobody ready to step in and they know another interim will get them slaughtered by the fans.
27 Oct 2026 12:40:39
Completely clueless!
27 Oct 2026 13:13:19
This is the worst of all possible decisions.
They haven't backed Carrick.
They haven't replaced him.
All they have done is kicked the can down the road for another week.
Given that the squad has already publicly undermined Carrick, and know that the club would like to replace him, he has zero authority. It's a classless and cruel way to treat any manager. We've seen enough over the past decade to know when the players have given up on a manager. They won't get Carrick a result against Chelsea, and eventually the club will have to act.
If reports are to be believed, this is about not wanting to spend the money needed to sack Carrick and his coaching team. This is where we're at as a club. Record revenues, and we're still too poor to bring in a new manager. The worst run club in the league. But if Rattcliffe is so worried about wasting money, maybe he should look at his brain trust that have made 3 consecutive blunders with managerial appointments.
{Ed025's Note - spot on Danny..
27 Oct 2026 13:58:40
An absolutely mental decision to leave him in there. All the top decision makers, including some of the Glazers and that's the best they can come up with?
No matter what way you cut it up, the club is in a really bad place. Them leaving Carrick in charge could mirror Spurs leaving Frank in charge at Spurs last year. You leave it too long and we're in a relegation fight, something none of these players are up for.
Going back to when Ashworth was at the club, one of the managers he pushed for was Eddie Howe. Now it seems Wilcox is leading the chant for Howe two failed managers later.
Vivelli who's contract is up at the end of the season wants Nagglesmann. Again a decision to appoint a manager who is only wanted by a fella who will be gone soon.
You have the drips of news this morning about how the Glazers are waiting for the stadium to built before considering selling, and they think if City are relegated, we'll somehow be more attractive to a buyer.
Everyone at the club has sleepwalked into this position. The Glazers have cannibalised the club while the fans have done nothing. I saw the 1958s open letter which i found cringe, pathetic and hilarious in equal parts. Like David Brent tried to write a threatening letter. The 1958 describe themselves as An underground group of reds intent on upholding the values of Manchester United, its culture and traditions.
Someone tell these lads that they don't need ti be "Underground". Its embarrassing being a United fan but its certainly not illegal.
I have said it for years, the season ticket holders are the only ones that have the power to oust this ownership. It will take more than leaving 5 minutes before the end and some booing. They have let the club down immensely letting this get this far. But with the 1958, MUST and any other supporters ground, I have zero faith. Frogs in boiling water comes to mind with the home fans.
Probably written the same post multiple times over the years, but the realisation has set in now, we'll never win a league under this regime.
The fans have a chance to change the clubs trajectory. The have to stand up.
27 Oct 2026 14:24:50
Couldn't agree more Danny there is a big question about what the outcome against Chelsea going to be?
Lose, and I expect it to be ugly. If we get turned over, the club will have thrown a United legend and a genuinely good man to the slaughter, leaving him to take the blame while being backed by a bunch of gutless players who seemingly have no accountability.
Win, and what does that tell us? That these players can raise their game when they feel like it. Because let's be honest, the performances against Como and Bournemouth will not be anywhere near good enough to beat Chelsea.
That's the problem at Manchester United. The effort, intensity and desire seem to come and go depending on the circumstances. New manager bounce, players getting a sulk on, a bit of pressure building, suddenly they can run, compete and look interested again.
And where does that leave Carrick? Thrown into a situation he shouldn't have to deal with, with absolutely no clarity from the club about his future and players who need to take a long, hard look at themselves.
If Carrick isn't the man, come out and say it. If he is, back him properly. Don't leave him hanging while the same players continue to dictate the narrative with their performances.
Because whether we win or lose against Chelsea, the bigger question remains the same:
Are we watching a team fighting for Manchester United, or a group of players who decide for themselves when Manchester United is worth fighting for?
That's what I want answering. Not another round of excuses.
{Ed025's Note - great post Ports..
27 Oct 2026 16:14:15
They would love him to walk, but why would he!
No one wants to take on next 3 games
In the end they will have to pay him off like ETH & RA
So more time wasted
But if you was an incoming would you not rather delay a couple of weeks
Just hope SJR takes the time to replace Wilcox too but also Wilcox does like Southgate so who knows
27 Oct 2026 19:07:27
This really explains why SJR has failed at almost every sporting venture he has invested in.
I honestly never thought that anyone could actually make the Glazers looks competent, so we'll done SJR!
I'm sure he would love Southgate to be in charge, another Yes man, who would be their puppet!
I suppose it makes good viewing for the uxpomg Amazon documentry.
27 Oct 2026 10:57:09
Think this is the most embarrassed and ashamed I've ever been of this club. And still there are some fans that think a change of manager is all that is required!
27 Oct 2026 12:42:26
Ports,
I only think relegation will lead to the Glazers selling up. Perhaps February 2027 will be interesting, when the drag along clause expires. Maybe this is SJRs way of bringing the price down.
Seriously, it is embarrassing.
27 Oct 2026 14:25:38
I don't think anyone thinks that a change of manager is ALL that is needed. Doesn't mean it isn't needed.
27 Oct 2026 17:05:47
Yeah, not one person has suggested only the manager is the issue.
