Genuine question here, when Amorim is sacked (seems only a matter of time) should berrada and Wilcox follow him out the door? Both heavily linked to his appointment, both clashed with the now departed ashworth and both are yet to prove they know what they are doing. Do others agree or are u happy with what they have done in their prospective roles?

Agree3 Disagree0

Well I think when you look at everything else off the pitch, transfers, new training complex, new plans for a stadium, youth development etc, the club is moving in the right direction again, regardless of whether you agree or not with it and with the way it has been done. It's unfortunate though that the main issue is the most important one, the senior team and their performances and results.

I do think the mess of the club internally is far greater than what we all understand because of the Glazer's and Woodward and co so Wilcox and Barrada moving on to IMO would be a bit hasty and unfair.

I really have no idea what either have done. Its very diffucult to know what goes on behind closed doors. From the outside if looks like absolutely nothing has changed.

They have to own the decision, will they walk as a result, unlikely.

On potential Amorim replacements, let’s face it there aren’t many options. Some have mentioned Iraola, but remember Bournemouth struggled with his formations and tactics initially and didn’t win for 10 games.

Glasner seems the obvious target, playing the same formation as Amorim and having a better record over a shorter period, but would he take the job, it is a career killer for everyone at the moment, maybe he is smart enough to say no.

Fabrizio was going on about Xavi, but with no Premier League experience I think that would be a bad choice.

With the run of games coming including Sunderland, Liverpool, Brighton, Forest, Spurs and Everton I’m not optimistic we will get more than 6 points from 6 games, and I expect the board will be forced to make a decision.

Both did a very good job at City. They went with a younger manager who was doing exceptionally well in the Portuguese league. He had SL play some very entertaining football.

Flip the switch and nearly a year later, RA is clearly obstinate. Yet he doesn't have the players to play the way he wants. His fixation on the 3421 formation appears to be his downfall. Some would call it tunnel vision to a certain degree.

Behind the scenes Wilcox and Berrada are slowly transforming the way the club is being run. Years of purely focusing on the club as a business instead of a football club has been detrimental to Utd and a huge part of their demise.

The reality is that Utd have beena mid table team since EtH second season. The FA Cup win masked over a poor season.

Maguire, Shaw, Dalot and Casemeiro, are still playing in the first 11 for Utd and are no where near the level required to be top players in their positions. Rashford regressed and had a poor attitude and clearly stopped trying. Sancho never tried unless it was on Fifa. Onana, Anthony, Hjolund all flopped. All of which was prior to Berrada and Wilcox coming in.

A culmination of buying poor players, letting players leave for free and paying exceptional high wages is down to the previous regime. To reverse this takes time and patience. Mistakes will happen.

The club can't simply click their fingers and be rid of these underperfroming players.

Unfortunately an obstinate manager and players who aren't bright enough will continue in blight our performances. Perhaps a simple formation change woukd change things. RA appears to favour losing his job over a change in formation.

I think they can make a mistake or even two in finding the right person.

I agree it’s a bad look with Ashworth but so long as Amorim gives them no choice they can come out looking clean. Amorim has been given time and backing, which is a good look.

I don’t like Wilcox but don’t think he goes when RA does or Barrada, I think it’s wishful thinking by those that think it’s not going to be run as a business going forward, SJR is more business focused than the Glazers and it’s 2025 football is now a business.

Personally I would go for Xavi or ZZ players have to respect that calibre as will the press plus football would be good at that level not sure it matters about no epl experience then Iraola, not sure Glasner got the personality required…. 100% please no Southgate.

Other than the front 3 this is the same squad as last season

What did anyone expect.

These players can’t be coached and you can’t replace them all

But Amorim needs to find a way to get results at the moment we look the same as last season and this year the newly promoted teams don’t look as bad as the ones last season

We are going knowhere fast.

29 Sep 2025 18:29:05
Why on earth can’t these players be coached, that’s poppycock
How on earth can you win anything with Mount playing LWB
Dorgu a player he bought is useless in final third… Cunha Mbuemo going backwards a new GK he is scared to play, Changes CB every game for another CB plays our best player in an unnatural position, Yoro and Mainoo on naughty step with Heaven build up play still slow and ponderous this is all on RA no one else.

Short answer no.

If you sack everyone for every mistake they make them you're business will be nothing but a merry-go-round of staff changes.

Everyone, in every position, in every walk of life makes mistakes. You need to give them a chance to correct them and learn from them.

If they aren't able to then it might be time to part ways.

29 Sep 2025 18:54:55
The way they aggressively briefed against Dan Ashworth, yes they should both leave.

It was pretty classless and to insinuate that a highly competent football administrator/ director is incompetent just because you didn't agree on the way forward manager wise was ridiculous.

Now they have egg on their face and the next manager most likely will be someone with PL experience as Ashworth suggested.

29 Sep 2025 21:56:53
Dsg he wanted Southgate as manager that alone should be a sackable offence

As for Amorim he needs to change up fast as I think a anything less than a win weekend and it’s bye bye.

Those who live in manchester and know a few blokes from the city set up will tell you wilcox was a nobody at city and had nothing to do with how they play. He ain't qualified to decide how united play but we stupid enough to make him the kingmaker at our club. bets guy we hired is the chelsea guy.

So we keep saying that we want to have a clear consistent direction which comes from the CEO/ Sporting Director/ Head of Recruitment team with the manager/ head coach provided the tools to play. Yet we are then talking about ripping this up if the coach does not work out, even if it turns out to be a bad hire don't throw away the overall direction of the club!

We have been a joke of a club for years so it will take a while to turn the titanic round. We are year 2 into the Berrada/ Wilcox/ Vivell team and they have had to deal with clear out of players, bringing in players on a relatively tight budget compared to the amount of players we need to bring in overall. They are restructuring the recruitment especially the youth so that we can get the players in early and see if they can come through.

Overall I think they have done a good job, whilst as fans it is okay for us to want this job to be done quicker and now!

If the club have faith in Amorim (blind based on performance but they see him around the club) then I hope they stick to their guns and give it the season. If they are doubting his ability to turn it round (again from what they see around the club) then make the call over the next few months but definitely ahead of christmas.

Then it is a who replaces, are we wedded to a 343 system and as such bring in a Glasner (along with Wharton! ) or do we go for a Xavi who likes to bring the young players in and will be more 433.

I just want us to not completely pivot like we have done previously which is why the team has been a hotch botch of players for different managers.

Fortunately there's been no real investment in wingbacks, so this squad could still be moulded into any formation at this point. Despite lacking a great CM it's still better suited for 4-3-3 at this point, we could erase the last year from history lol.

30 Sep 2025 09:59:47
Lots of differing views on that which is good to see. Yes we don’t all agree but we all have the club at heart and want what’s best. Thanks for the input on that topic.
