There is little to defend amorim on in terms of results.
Its a matter of gut feeling and blind faith that is all I have now.
Imo there is much to like about his character and obviously areas that have come to concern me also.
I can totally understand why people are fed up and see no future or point in continuing with RA there is no compelling tangible evidence on the pitch to argue against that viewpoint.
Imo the best managers learn from what's going on around them. They know how to read the room so to speak. Tweaking things and adapting is not a sign if erasing and all the best manager's in every walk of life learn that.
Its not a matter of abandoning his principles its about finding an alternative variant that gets results in the meantime.
Is playing one 10 and 2 8s not worth a try?
Any manager who refuses to adapt when circumstances call for it will have more difficulties than one who does.

RA is obstinate.

Either he makes the system work or he gets sacked. He will not change.

I agree with all of that ken. His record here is the worst post war, and he continues to pick Bruno as 1 of a 2 which seems bizarre to me. He is not going to change, so I don't see things getting better, the odd win here or there but continuing frustration.

Time will tell.

1000% Ken. The fact he won’t change at all is very strange and it will ultimately cost him his job. Seems to me that he would rather lose, than win without his fabled system. He gives the impression of a man who’d be happy enough if he was shown the door tomorrow.

You called ETH some amount of names ken.

But I don't think he ever had a record quite like RA.

Yes angel is did and ole as I didn't believe in them at all. You were defending eth after 11 pints from 11 games last season. I think they were failing in every respect of the job. On and off the field.
I like a lot of what amorim has overseen with the new management.
I think he has great attributes.
Im very disappointed and frustrated by his refusal to tweak his formation. Its not working so he should be looking at what he can do better. Great managers in any walk of life need the ability to alter tactics but not the overall strategy.
I would have liked to see more evidence of that key attribute by now.
I do see some improvements but not nearly enough.
Bruno deep in midfield is not working even with the best partner it won't work imo. He can't influence a game from there like he has done and is often a liability.
Its strange that he persists with it. I don't blame Bruno he is doing his best but he is too careless with the ball and doesn't see the dangers of runners. Its not his game and doesn't have the right skill set and on Sunday he was badly exposed.
Play a 6, 1 10 and 2 8s would make us more solid without abandoning his core shape and principles.

Mate eth got sacked after 9 games this lad is the worst we have had, talks but can't win.

16 Sep 2025 09:35:52
I don't go to the point where I call them clueless idiots etc.

Interesting to know what you see that you've liked? And what improvements have you seen?

16 Sep 2025 10:20:45
Even if he somehow eventually get it right, other clubs know exactly what's coming, what to expect and what to do about it. There are no curveball Pep style changes of formation or surprises on the day. Even Grimsby sussed us out, and it wasn't just a lucky win on penalties, they could and should have scored more in open play.

If in my opinion someone is an idiot ill say that. No issue there at all. I've said dozens of times just because I think someone is an idiot it doesn't mean they are it means I think they are.
Both eth and ole lasted less than a few months in their next jobs and it took ole a couple of years to get one he might not get another one for another 2 years. Both idiot managers at this club imo. Lots of money Both of them so they have good advisors and agents. Eth has some pedigree but not got any leadership qualities that I think suited United particularlyat this time, and that became very apparent to me after about 12 months.
I think RA has a lot if good leadership characteristics but is flawed in as much as he refuses to adapt and that will cost him his job unless he learns that imo.

Ole gave us two top four finishes with a dysfunctional club, players and football department. We would take that now in a heartbeat.

Not saying he is the man to step in even in the short term, far from it. That ship has long sailed, but perhaps he was not quite the “idiot” he is/ was made out to be if supposedly better coaches have not got a tune from the players.

But 10 months in we had same problems every game virtually and he still not tweaked, good managers adapt even substitutions with RA they are also shocking
It’s like he not learnt anything
Continues to play our best player in an awful position, appears to have upset more and more players.
