There was always a feeling of men against boys today. It's hardly a unique occurrence. Palace have players with physical stature, particularly up top. There's a reason why they're so hard to beat away from home. With Garnacho, Mainoo and Amad we did not - and none of these players could capitalize on what was actually a decent start. The selection looked odd, but that said, could anyone really imagine that either Zirkzee or Højlund would have made any difference. Guehi is an excellent CH.

Obviously the 3 at the back system will continue to come under attack. But here's the deal. If the club is backing Amorim then even if it's painful it's also quite reasonable for him to keep working on achieving results the way he wants to play, identifying who is and who is not good enough, and. preparing the ground work for all of the changes. There's no point in sacrificing the future to achieve a few short term victories in a lost season.

The club is a business and it works on numbers and not emotions. Manchester United will need CL revenue going forward. This season is a write off. But not the next one.
Ohh and the physical Crystal palace will finish in the bottom half.

Just deflated. it was heading to 0-0 but again utd are just terrible at defending set pieces. had to score first but again the players look lost. Shouldn't be suprised, it's who utd are now. sh**.

Liverpool fan here.

I get what you're saying shawthing but only so much can fall on the players. The tactics amorim insists on sticking with clearly aren't working. and I'm baffled that so many fans are okay with that.

The questions for me are about Berrada and Wilcox. We can’t score goals, couldn’t last season and they spend what £220m in summer and still no striker. Don’t tell me Zirkzee was one. One day of the window left and again we have nothing, Tel is not a CF from what I can see, is 19, doesn’t appear a natural goal scorer.

The finances are a shambles, still hamstrung by £700m of Glazer debt because SJR enabled them, costs £60m a year, the cost that could go to a striker. Cutting salaries, redundancy for staff.

The new ownership has serious questions to answer if no goalscorer arrives tomorrow. Shambolic.

I'm not hopeful red man. its not the players, supporters are lost too. I'm utterly down with it all. I'm really worried for next season if this crap continues.

But who Red Man? I.

I also think the keeper situation hit home how appealing we are at transfers.

We’re 13th and rubbish, and have spent a combined £60m on two very poor to average keeper. Palace line up with one of our old academy lads in goal, who is no worse than than the two we have bought. Total waste of money. The club is a joke, run by greedy clowns, and how long do we give Amorim before we actually start questioning his decisions?

Dorgu and (hopefully) Tel this window, Quenda, Gyokeres, Ederson and Wharton in summer and we’ll be challenging next season :D.

Liverpool fan here tok and I feel that Amorim has a system he likes but just doesn't have the players to do play that particular way. You lot are still lacking an LWB, which Dorgu looks like he'll be filling, and a focal point up top. On another note, I thought that your players finally look like they are putting in effort instead of the insipid performances that were the norm under EtH. Things can only get better but it would require either Amorim to adjust his system to suit the players or if he gets the players who can fit his system.

Fair point, Bmena-red.

At the moment, I think the issue is that we don’t have the players needed to play the way that Amorim wants to play. Ten Haag found himself in the same position when he first came in and ended up abandoning his preferred system pretty quickly. After that, it feels like he had no idea how he wanted us to line up and ended up wasting hundreds of millions on players to fit a non-existent system.

As such, I’d rather Amorim stick to his guns for now. If after signing a few more players in the summer and another six months of coaching he still can’t make it work then questions will need to be asked.

The next six to twelve months will be painful, but I’d rather endure it than have Amorim abandon his system, as I think that will just lead us back to another Ten Haag situation and ultimately another new manager who doesn’t have the players needed to implement his preferred style of play.

Dear me, Was at the game and we are terrible and fans getting fed up with it.

These players couldn’t play a 4231, 433, 343 or 3412.

Nearly every goal we concede has a major individual error. For the first goal I’m looking at the keeper getting lobbed by a header from 15 yards and Maguire ball watching the rebound.

The second goal Maguire is 2 yards behind yoro playing them on.
