Liverpool fan in peace here and I think it is a good sign that Garnacho has deleted his social media accounts. I always found him to be a good prospect for you lot but he seems to have lost his way a bit since the start of the season. It didn't help that the fans and media were building him up to be the main man in the team, which understandably contributed to him developing a bit of a big head. Hopefully this is a sign that he is putting his head down and is working hard on himself again.

Hi Giggs. Liverpool fan here and what Ed001 said was correct. We had three first-choice CBs (Matip, Gomez, and Van Dijk) that season and all three were out injured for the duration of the season. We then played our midfielders (Fabinho, Hendo, and Gini) in CB for a while and that was when we struggled. When Hendo and Fabinho got injured, we went out and got Davies and Kabak in the Jan window. Davies and Kabak then got injured so we were forced to play Phillips and Williams in CB. That, coupled with the return from injury of both Hendo and Fabinho, led to us going on an unbeaten run and ultimately finishing third that season.
You were partially right though when you said that we got a few players back but it was our midfield players, not our CBs that returned from injury. And that winner from Allison helped a lot as well.

It's a tough game to call. We're in poor form ourselves and United always raise their game when playing against us. I wouldn't be too surprised to see a draw. My guess is it'd be 2-2.

United always turn up against the "bigger" teams so I don't think you'd have any problem with that. And we are looking extremely vulnerable after losing three on the bounce and looked insipid while doing so. As a Liverpool fan, I am worried about it as another loss would be extremely detrimental for us.

Dembele had injury concerns and disciplinary issues at Barcelona when he left PSG. It's the culture there that changed him. If he had gone to United as he was back then, I reckon he would have been similar to how Sancho is now.
{Ed001's Note - also he was never going anywhere else, he had no interest in joining anyone but PSG.}

Good point too Ed. I think we did have Vvd to help with the defensive organisation that season, or at the very least from Jan onwards. So it was the beginning of our team building. I don't blame Amorim for wanting to target attackers firs since he needed to get rid of both Rashford, Garnacho, and Sancho at the very least. I would expect the next priority to be a GK followed by a CM.

Liverpool fan here and I've always maintained that teambuilding starts from the back. A good goalkeeper would make a world of a difference. Just see us for example, when we swapped Karius with Allison.
{Ed077's Note - Liverpool still made it to the UCL final with Karius. The defensive organisation is also not there for United which isn't helped by horrendous goalkeeping.
