Gotta love that Irish kid writing to Klopp, when interviewed on the BBC today he said I was going to write to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but I didn't think it would make any difference.

From the mouths of babes,

You couldn't make it up.

I seen that and what a man klopp to write back to the kid and give him an explanation, I don't think any other manager anywhere would have done it, fair play to him.

2.) 22 Feb 2020 16:33:07
Pretty sure it wouldn't have been Klopp writing that reply. The club probably has other people to take care of that.

Dark Cloud Jackson. 😁.

Ok guys just to give you a break, I've been thinking this for a few weeks.

AWB is one of the best defensive RBs I think I've seen (and so young) but going forward Jesus he's bad. Traditionally you play overlapping FBs so.

Centerback he could blossom and God knows your not blessed with choices there at the moment.

Discuss.

we need 7 players and somebody who knows what he is doing idontlooklikeklopp.

2.) 08 Jan 2020 04:22:21
We're not blessed with good options really anywhere on the park just now. AWB is a brilliant 1v1 defender but he is still a bit suspect positionally. His recovery pace hides that for the most part. That's probably not too surprising as he wasn't asked to have the same attacking involvement at Palace.

He has been the player not pushing out which plays someone onside, also sometimes far too narrow when the ball is crossed from the left. He could maybe play in a 3 as an emergency CB but I wouldn't even consider him an option there at the moment.

3.) 08 Jan 2020 06:03:27
Could play RCB in a 3 I reckon but not in a two because I don’t think he’s got the height, but then cannavaro was only 5ft9 (not comparing him to cannavaro) . Great tackler and one of our best buys in a while.

Not the worst suggestion but as a centre back you need to be proficient with your lesser foot and whilst AWB is great when they are on the outside can he do the same when the run on the other side?

5.) 08 Jan 2020 10:02:54
I think he could do a job at RCB of a back three. But he lacks the height and positional sense to play at CB in a back four.

I think the simple solution is to just play a lopsided formation. You allow the left full back to push up, while AWB stays deeper. The LW can then cut in while the LB hugs the touchline. In the right you have AWB stay deep, and have a RW who stays wide. Then you have an AM drift into the half space on the right hand side.
You then have one holding midfielder, and one box to box midfielder who'll push forward when attacking.

You are better off creating tactics that suit your players rather than trying to either force your players into positions they are less suited to or make them play in a style that doesn't suit them.

Ultimately there needs to be a synergy between the players your club buys, the existing squad and the style of play the manager wants the team to play.

AWB is excellent at defensive FB - he is young and has plenty of time to work on the attacking side of his game. I'd much rather he have the defensive side sorted first! That being said I think he would make an awful CB - not strong enough in the air and his positioning would be found out without the sideline to protect him.

Just to give you guys hope, Klopp took over LFC in Oct 2015 after Brendon managed just ( you guessed it) 8pts by match week 6.

So a top modern thinking manager ( no dinosaurs) .

A coherent recruitment strategy.

Players who work for the team .

With in 4yrs 4 European finals (two wins ) and the 3rd highest points total in English top tier football history.

So it can be done.

Spot on mate. Only difference is that klopp had a much bigger reputation than ole so he got a lot more breathing space to make changes.

2.) 23 Sep 2019 18:35:06
I did say top manager not the former Cardiff, molde? manager. Sorry but the spoilt brats won't respect that cv.

3.) 23 Sep 2019 19:06:54
Hopefully he gets a chance to we see whether or not he can be a top level coach is what I mean (don’t think anyone could produce consistent good results with this squad) but not enough fans will show him the patience because he’s not managed any other top club is what I mean mate.

4.) 23 Sep 2019 20:24:01
What do you get for the 3rd highest total in history?

5.) 23 Sep 2019 20:52:14
2nd.

But I enjoyed the ride👍.

6.) 23 Sep 2019 21:07:03
True enough Caolan, but the support from fsg has been immense.

Klopps first match included migs, clyne, skrtle, Moreno, sarko and Origi as starters.

Shappy you normally speak a lot of sense, but pogba has been has been one of your best outfield players since he signed, give your head a wobble.

What percentage of matches has he played since he signed has he even hit 50%.

Agreed shappy, if Madison (many posters on here's wet dream) is worth the 80 mill you all seem to think, how is PP worth more.

Madison's English, younger, works harder, talented and seems a really good guy (see the articles regarding the poor young lass that died, and his brutal putdown of the sun comic) .

Bet Leicester wouldn't do a swap.

Whilst I get there has been massive inflationary pressures on transfer prices over the last few years, has PP done anything to warrant the huge windfall your expecting .

Poor workrate and attitude sprinkled with a bit of flair (on the pitch and hair salon) and a load of flashy penalties.

Can't help but think the big clubs will look at his time with MUFC and price him accordingly, if you got offered what you paid for him you should bite their hands off just to be shut of him.

Becks58 fergies greatest achievement was winning the title with that team of oaps and a pissed up Rooney, the standard of play was poor lots of scrappy wins/ draws.

He and the board left Moyes with mission impossible, total rebuild with no real money to spend.

Didn't have the time to read the whole post shappy but paragraph 4

He seems too concerned with the physical aspects of the game, hard work, pacy strong players and he seems to work too much on that to the detriment of technical skill and intelligent play. When given more say over transfers at Spurs the quality of the signings they made dropped, with too much focus on the physical attributes of a player over technical ability.

Hard work, pacy strong players, err ain't that the Liverpool midfield / team your describing, that's the minimum you should expect from guys earning 3/ 4 mill a year.

A few of them do great things with their wealth and fame, Ozil giving half his wages to charity goes unnoticed by many.
