Radek Vitek has just won every end of season accolade at Bristol (player/young player of the year etc.)
Altay Bayandir spotted on Deansgate with a Brit and Turkish film crew wandering about with hints it's his bye bye Manchester, hello Besiktas video.

Ducks lining up?
I know that Radek has said that after a full season between the sticks at Bristol, he wouldn't relish a second second string role back at OT.
Plus there's three penalty Onana still out there.

Sam Johnstone as back up for me. HG player, gonna be leaving Wolves in the summer. Happy to be no2 behind Lammens.

Like Vitek, but he is not gonna get in front of Lammens. Best thing is to send him on loan again, and try and increase his value so they can make some decent money on him when they decide to sell him.

Poor gk Shane can't even get in a poor Wolves team. Better off with Bayindir.

Difficult decision for the club. Lammens is now #1, and he's young. When does Vitek get a shot in the next 5-8 years? He's looking like a top prospect. He needs to play. The club will, quite likely, entertain good offers with a sell-on clause. It would be sad to see him go, but we need cash.

Maybe alternate Vitek and Lammens in league and cup competitions.

03 May 2026 00:22:18
Vitek will be sold.

03 May 2026 09:07:06
Vitek is ambitious. If he wants to go, I'd sell him and ensure a sell-on clause is included. He would be a profit as well, which is always a bonus. Surely he is worth at least £15 million.

03 May 2026 11:35:45
Smart move would be to sell with some kind of buy back/matching/sell on clause. Lammens is the immediate future, but we never know what can happen.

03 May 2026 23:16:26
Vitek looks a great prospect, but I don't want us to stifle him like we did with Henderson. I'd sell him with a buy back clause.

04 May 2026 12:16:59
Think it would be foolish to let him go unless we had a really competent keeper to back up Lammens. Who is so available that would do this? Prob will cost £10-20m, which money is better spent on other positions.

Bring back Vitek. Give him games in the Carabao and FA Cups, plus a few league matches. Let him adjust to the pressure and intensity of the Premier League and develop by training with the first team.

Why consider selling him at this stage? Do we currently have a goalkeeper of sufficient quality to reliably serve as a number two?

Recent seasons have shown that even the top clubs struggle when their first-choice goalkeeper is unavailable, often resulting in a significant drop in points. Given the increased number of fixtures we are likely to face, depth in this position is essential.

Reintegrating him into the squad would provide valuable competition and cover, while also strengthening the overall confidence and stability of the defence. It has been some time since Manchester United had two goalkeepers of genuine top-level quality, and this could be an opportunity to restore that balance.

Redevil, he doesn't want to serve as a number 2. He wants to be a number 1.

05 May 2026 11:22:10
He should remember this is Man United. You don't walk into the first team, and it should be earned. I would keep him as backup, and give him some game time. If Lammens gets injured, then what? Back to Onana?!

05 May 2026 14:34:55
He doesn't want to be a no.2, jd. He's well within his rights.

05 May 2026 17:02:52
His value is £5 million right now. So we sell him for that, with add-ons, buy-back and sell-on fees, or loan him out to maybe one of the promoted clubs and try to increase his value to sell him the following summer. The problem is that he only has 2 years left on his contract, so we ain’t gonna get a premium fee.

Making him our number 2 doesn’t serve any good purpose. He’s at an age now that he needs to establish himself, or he gonna be playing for Sparta Prague in a few years. Personally, he gonna seek a transfer out. I don’t blame him.

I would argue that there are plenty of players that have just walked into the team in the last few years!
