Call me harsh but Rashford really shouldn't have been let back into the squad at all, I mean why would you want to come back to an inconsistent environment anyway? ?
Also hampers our plans in the market, in my opinion, since the money savers will say he can cover upfront so no need for another 9 and 2 on the left wing pushes Dorgu further back so essentially have 2 lbs so again, no need to sign a lb.
Saw the clip of him jogging around against Luton I believe and it's infuriating! Was absolutely buzzing when Amorim got rid of him and now he's back. Best in class. ???
Kalvin Phillips would still be a solid back up for us had we signed him instead of City! Or Tomiyasu from Arsenal!

We have this knack of allowing players to be at the club longer than they should. It goes back to players like Phil Jones, Martial, Fred, etc.
We still have it now in the squad. The fact that players like Dalot are still here, I think it's his 9th season; Maguire his 8th season, Luke Shaw.
And I wonder why we have not won a title for so long. Too many players are kept for far too long, and Rashford is another one. Big wages, but him telling the club unless a big team come in he's not going. Players dictating when they leave; he will be another one that will leave on a free.
Do people remember the lack of effort this so called United fan put in.
Difficult to sell when he doesn't want to leave and his wages are one of the top earners.
But this squad is not good enough at all. We've signed two players in Teliemans and Santos.
We knew we needed 6/7 players. The recruitment team have been poor so far, and with the season about to start they should have already had the players in that were needed.
It's not about overpaying, the market is what it is. We needed players to be signed for the starting 11 and pushing to be in the starting 11.
Personally, imo we will struggle defensively as you can't trust Martinez and de Ligt to be fit. Maz and Dalot are not good enough, and Heaven and Yoro are very young.
It doesn't help when you can't make any sales. We've sold no one this summer. Hojland was agreed last year, and we've lost a few on free transfers.

Ideally Rashford would be sold. That's no doubt what the club would prefer. But, since to date there have been no offers acceptable to both him and the club, the club has to try and reintegrate him. To freeze him out, simply destroys his market value completely. We'll end up having to loan him out for even less than his wages.
Everyone has their own opinions about Rashford. I don't think anyone is condoning his past behaviour, but the situation is what it is.
It's one of the club's own making.
Meanwhile, the subject has been done to death. Just wait and see. He may still be found another home. If not, he may end up being a +ve, or he may stink up the place. No one knows. In the meantime, this constant repetition of all the negatives is becoming extremely tedious. Please, think of something else to whine about.

I hate to say it again, but the moment Carrick was appointed, it was clear we were back on the slippery slope to everything we have done wrong in the last 10+ years. The Rashford situation is the next major example, and I highly expect a poor start to the season to pile the pressure on yet another management change.
Perhaps Rooney could be next from the old stock to have his 6 months?

Welcoming Rashford back, a poor influence, is a poor, weak decision. Reflects the difference between a leader in Amorim and a weak coach in Carrick.
Oh, if he stays, I suspect Rashford will have a few games where people will say he is back. Then, it will slip and old moody will appear.
It's also not what is on the pitch, it's the message they have given now. Poor all round. Should have been out the door a long while ago, no matter what it cost.
As for the happy clappy seal idiots saying give Cunha's 10 shirt to Rashford, it amply shows why we haven't been successful for 13 years.

On Rashford, currently nobody wants to buy or loan him, so what are the options?
1) Don't integrate him back into the squad and leave him training with the kids while earning 300 grand a week?
2) Integrate him back into the squad, which gives us an extra option up top, either on the left or down the middle.
If United could get rid of him, they would, but they are stuck with him, so it's better to try and get some use out of him. He is more than capable of playing a role for us this year, and, who knows, might be useful.

Personally, 300k for him to be in the reserves is money well spent to keep his attitude and laziness away from the rest of the squad. Amorim was doing a good job of removing the bad apples. The last thing we need is Rashford starting another infection in the squad.

Why's Vitek not been kept as back up, sold instead, and then gone and got Darlow on a free.
What's negative about wanting the club to show some ambition, "newnameoldideas"?
It's not a secret, when we get Champs football we don't invest in the team as much. If you're happy with the squad going into the season, that's your opinion to have.
Mine is the opposite, doesn't mean I'm negative.
Big PR made when Rashford was loaned out originally, how we were not having players like him around the club no more, bomb squad they called it, and now he's been allowed back into the team.
That's negativity there.

What, no one wants it? I guess I'm stuck with it then.
Which about sums up our situation with Marcus Rashford. We can't sell him unless someone is willing to buy him. The only other option we have is to pay up the remaining two years of his contract (circa 15m per year, so around 30m) and pay him off to leave on a free.
We can't sell him if no one will buy him.
We can't loan him unless we have both a club prepared to take on the bulk of his salary, and he is willing to join them.
We could pay him off, but that effectively amounts to us spending the money we would need to buy a replacement to get him out the door, thus leaving us with no money for the replacement.
We can't force him to train with the academy/reserves, as his contract will protect him from that unless very specific criteria are met (which they won't be).
Besides, would we really want him sulking with the impressionable academy lads?
Therefore, the only option the club has, if they can't find a suitable deal for him to move, is to reintegrate him back into the first team squad and then try and get the best out of him.
It's not an ideal situation, but in truth you rarely find yourself in ideal situations in life.
Hopefully, Carrick and the other coaches can tease the best out of him. If not, then it might be easier to find a move for him next summer. Certainly he'll probably be more open to accept moves next summer that he might not consider this summer. With him being 29 at that point, and with the Euros and a potential place with England in what could be his last tournament on the line.

Teams are interested. He's just not interested in leaving, he earns top money here, when he won't get anywhere else, which is our own fault.
He has got a lot of work to do to be accepted back into this team.
Stinking the place out last time he was here, walking around giving no effort.

If Carrick wants him, it's really strong management. He won't get swayed by the negative nellies.
If he thinks it's right, then it's right. He is the manager, and he is managing.
Not managing the way Trumpman wants, but thankfully his views are totally irrelevant.
I don't like it, but that's life. I'm not the one that had to justify the decision.
If, at the end of the season, Carrick looks back and can point to a series of positives, then he will be happy.
If not, it could be the sword he falls on. But, he is a big boy, so he will stand over his decision.
I'm still hoping somebody comes in for him, but it's looking less likely.

Vitek wanted, rightfully, first team minutes. Would you throw Lammens to the side for half the season to satisfy those demands, or set him free to develop with a buy back clause inserted? Seems like decent business to me.
