Saturday with game day tomorrow and Amorims comments about entitlement ringing around.

Spot on, he is exactly right. The club have had years of poor attitude all around and it needs fixing as much as buying and selling players. The standards in the club, the attitude has fallen from the moment Moyes walked in.

Amorim commented at times he feels like he is failing or struggling on the pitch with results, but off the pitch he is not failing. That is so important, the ethos, the culture.

There are reports from Portugal that he was great with the academy at Sporting.

I have said on here a number of times, I remember 1989 well, losing 5-1 to City and dismayed, my late brother, who was involved with the club, talked to someone there who said SAF was changing the academy and the ethos, the whole club would improve and to stay with it. We did.

Now I hear Amorims words on entitlement and realise he is not just coaching the first team but looking at the attitudes, the players attitudes the whole picture to point towards success,

We were patient in 1989, I think we need to be now. This is more than who plays in midfield, it is about the culture of the club that has grown fat and complacent. Kids think they have made it when they get a shirt, instead of when they succeed in the first team, they hold their hands up saying not fair when not selected, instead of saying I will show them.

Attitude, entitlement, needs sorting and I like the fact Amorim has said it, we all should.

Perfectly put Red man, I'm so pleased amorim has addressed this, the club and the fans need to back him and show some patience. The club was sinking, amorim has thrown them a rope.

On the nail Red Man. ?.

Have to evolve to stay relevant and under Woodward everything to do with football took a back seat to merchandising. I believe he said it himself. Winning the EPL was not integral to United being financially successful. Arsenal said the same thing and have now spent 20+ years without an EPL title. Winning is a mentality. It's driven by a fanatical commitment to success at every level of what is a complex organism. SAF had that and imbued his staff and players with it. Everyone else, from the Glazers to the football management, the football staff and players, have been riding on his shirttails.

I can recall when I first joined this site how posters would often comment on the pervasive sense of entitlement, as if we had a God given right to win things. In truth the rot started before SAF and Gill retired, but they were able to paper over the crumbling facade.

Ineos have been heavily criticized for many of their actions, but I do believe that Ratcliffe and his management team get it absolutely. The club needed to be reorganized so that its resources are geared primarily to one thing: winning football games, preferably with style, panache, and in an entertaining way. With the financial constraints brought about by incredibly wasteful spending, a poor, complacent and bloated corporate culture, and loss of revenues as a result of mediocre performances, it was never going to be an instant fix. Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho, Rangnick, Ole, RVN, Ten Hag - none of whom could cut it. The more experienced of them, the non-lackeys, spoke out only to be ignored by the smug self-important management team.

So, I agree, we need to stand by Amorim, as he does his best, supported by Berada and his management team to completely rid us of that sense of entitlement and infuse the club once again with the combination of desire, intensity and singularity of purpose that's required to play winning football. There's always someone else who will do it if we don't.

Yep. Agreed!

A few wayward comments but otherwise has set some ground rules and striving to steady the ship outside of the playing group.

I am still not 100% convinced as yet but he is swinging me round albeit slowly. Some more consistency on the park regardless of results and we are on the real road to recovery.

Come on guys, we all know Amorim talks a good game too, but reality shows us something totally opposite, you’re clutching at straws!

20 Dec 2025 13:17:15
Would love to keep him as manager for the press conferences and have a separate manager to take care of coaching and the matches.

Maybe we could pioneer this dual management role?

I was on here before SAF retired and was saying about the arrogance of fans in particular . I recall the arrogance of those just after he retired and before the start of Moyes season, who said we won the league by 11 points so would easily win it again.

I flagged that on here got hell for saying Moyes would be an issue.
Now we have an attitude problem that has become ingrained, been recognised and is being resolved.

20 Dec 2025 15:33:20
Being resolved how exactly all I see is inferior players coming in and yeah great, you can turn them into robots! So we have good attitude in your eyes and then never win anything. nice… RA is a poor coach which ever way you try to dress it up.

20 Dec 2025 20:33:43
Even by your standards of absolute nonsense, twaddle and utter boll*x Jsu that has to be a strong contender for idiotic post of the year, (oddly enough all the other nominees are you're boringly frequent aliases)

You refer to inferior players coming in and whilst I acknowledge your expertise in the subject of inferiority I would welcome your explanation as to why you refer to our recent signings in this way.

Interesting you talk of dressing up, is that not exactly what you spend all your time doing?

I think we should give RA a contract extension, he is the man to lead us back to success!

Sounds like the sort of coach we need. No idea what is happening in the youth system, but he seems to blame young players publically for mistakes and then ignore completely the aging pros who have let us down for years.

I agree there should be standards right the way through the football club. But clearly those standards don't apply to 4 or 5 first teamers who stink the place out weeks in row (specifically earlier in the season) and not only do they keep their starting place, but they don't even get subbed until far too late in the game.

IWOTB,

Because people dared to be positive so the troll jumps on every post with any positivity. His aliases always do the same until they are banned, it’s pathetic. I doubt he’s even a United fan.

21 Dec 2025 08:41:25
IWOTB.
Excellent post.
GDS2. Also, good post, although you might have been replying to the wrong person?

Cheers lads, think he needs the odd reminder of his true place in the greater scheme of things. That of course is right at the very bottom.

Of course he is not a Utd supporter, for some rather strange reason he takes perverse satisfaction in these endless name changes and constantly posting negative, insulting and ignorant rubbish. He no doubt convinces himself that he is so clever in achieving his aim of disharmony and disagreement on here.

Sadly, he cannot see that the vast majority of real fans on here see him for what he really is, certainly no messiah, just a very, very naughty boy!

I sometimes almost feel real pity for the obvious severe problems he is suffering from. Then again I soon forget about that nonsense and have a go at him, just as he is trying (unsuccessfully) to do to us.

Got to say, if nothing else it brightens up what may well be a quiet day!

Enough of that, an away win today would be a great Xmas present for all, I fancy us to achieve.

Fizz,

I was responding the IWOTB asking why the troll slags off our players.
