Vlahovic for around £20m?
Bardghji for maybe a similar fee as his contract ends in December - another £20m?
Any takers?
For me, Vlahovic is made for the EPL. Not the quickest, but solid and actually knows where the goal is.
Bardghji is a real talent, pure filth. I know he's had his injury problems, but the kid really is mustard - I firmly believe we'd be stupid to not push for him.
Each could be considered a risky punt, but the whiff of bargain is a tangy one.

Why take a risk on someone Ork. If the player doesn't fit the profile, move on. If there isn't someone available in this window that fits the profile AND our financial position, move on.
No point buying just for the sake of it.

Would def take Vlahovic.
{Ed077's Note - fee rumored (around 25m) is a risk worth taking, the wages though, ufff.

No point buying for the sake of it is a true thought but we cannot go into another season relying on Hojland. Obi may well challenge but needs an experienced striker as well. We must get an experienced goal scoring striker. As well as MBueno, a CM and a keeper.

The fact that we wanted Delap, and still want Gyokeres and Osimhen, plus have Zirkzee, suggests very much that there is no profile lol. All completely different players!

Do we want Oshimen tho? Don’t think we do.
In terms of delap and gyokores they are quite similar, both are runners with the ball, like to battle and hold up the play, zirkzee was here before Amorim and is not a striker.

Delap and Gyokeres are completely different in age, experience and value, yet the club has completely done a 180 pivot in wanting both. That suggests to me there's no profile.

There will be no striker bought until we sell. The money can not be there
They have signed Cunha, eventually will wrap up Mbuemo and those signings will be a massive outlay. So the striker signature will not be done until players are moved out. So all this talk of signing someone is all premature.
I'm sure united have someone lined up but it's not happening any time soon.

I'm hearing so much about profile, but one big point is being missed.
Hojlund has the raw attributes of a decent striker - quick, powerful, aggressive, knows where the goal is (bear with me) .
However, he is naive and lacks the nous to be unpredictable with his movement, which is why he is so easily drawn into shirt-swap battles with defenders. In short, he lacks the brain of an elite striker. On the rare occasion he applies decent movement, he becomes a problem and can punish the opposition, but it just doesn't happen often enough.
As far as profile goes, we need a striker who isn't predictable, isn't naive, and actually has the brain to be unlock the physical attributes of an elite-level striker.
That, to me, is all the profile we should concentrate on, and all of the aforementioned strikers, imo, fit that profile.

Rasmus maybe quick but his brain is slow, that’s why he always reacts after the event and a split second away.
He is not powerful by any means, loses every tussle and ends up on the floor, about as aggressive as a wet paper bag.
Can’t hold the ball up
Can’t win a header
Finishing poor
He is 22, people writing strikers off on here at 30, so he not got long.
He got too big ego, coaches working with him daily and gets no better
Needs to be gone.

Is he a great goal scorer? In the last six seasons only twice has he scored more than 20 goals in all competitions.
24/ 25 15 goals.
23/ 24 18 goals.
22/ 23 14 goals.
21/ 22 29 goals.
20/ 21 21 goals.
19/ 20 9 goals.
Two hot seasons between 2020 and 2022, and been fairly average since then. Especially considering that he's been playing for one of the biggest clubs in Italy during those last three seasons.
He's not a player I think is worth going after.

I like him a lot. Made for the epl and would do a fine job.
