Regarding Rashford, I believe, rightly or wrongly, that the comments about a new challenge have been taken out of context.
My opinion, and it is the same with Garnacho, is that they are both having to adapt to the new system and that currently they have lacked in showing Amorim that they have what it takes to fill the role he intends them to fill. Note, his system will only work with the right pieces in place, as we are seeing before our eyes.

“Regarding Rashford, I believe, rightly or wrongly, that the comments about a new challenge have been taken out of context. ”
It wasn’t taken out of context. He was dropped for the City game, and immediately gave an interview where he said that he’s ready for a new challenge. In that interview he continued to say that he will leave with no ill will to the club.
There’s no ambiguity - he wants to leave the club.

Danny, who could blame him or anyone who wants to leave this club to be honest. He has been here since out of nappies. He has been a part of every single thing wrong at this club. And probably, one of our most consistent performers throughout the turmoil, because that is what it has been, turmoil.
The club is rotten, and that has been led by the hand of the glazers. I am not blaming any single manager or player, or pointing any fingers, especially not at Marcus Rashford. Many a time he did not have to play and he played through some really bad injuries. I don't care about this whole PR team stuff. He is a massive figure, of course he is going to have PR management.
A clean break for him is what's best. In actual fact, he should've left long ago. The way the club has been ran, we don't deserve him and just like Bruno, we will realise what we had when gone.
Yes, I get the application issue, the desire. But I look at him and think he is all out of it here.
In regards to his interview with Henry Winter, I have no issues with it at all.
The club have briefed individuals within the media for a long time now that they are open to selling him and he has, many many times come out and say how he loves the club and wants to stay.
The week of his interview, the club briefed again and said that they will sell him and guess what, the player comes out and says he wants to leave also. Good on him, it took a lot of courage, but from his point of view, having to constantly battle against these briefs, he must have just had enough. And it was no PR statement, it came from his mouth. Crystal clear.
Best of luck Marcus, you deserved more than just a big paycheck from this rotten club.
01 Jan 2025 14:53:12
That’s the way Amorim tried to spin it the next day.
Even Henry Winter who interviewed him didn’t take it that way. He wants out for sure.
01 Jan 2025 14:56:51
angelred what on earth are you smoking? he deserved more than a big paycheck? he's nothing but trouble.
01 Jan 2025 15:36:40
Just trying to see him as a human dn8red. I don't think the club have handled him well at all.
There's a lot more going on that what we are privy too but I've heard stories. I don't think he's trouble at all.
Whatever we think, he has been the one constant in a banter time for the club.
01 Jan 2025 16:27:39
Yeah barring one world class season he's been constantly poor.
01 Jan 2025 16:36:26
Angelred i get what you are saying but just want to understand what difference do you see in what Ronaldo did and now Rashford.
01 Jan 2025 17:27:25
Angel, I've not heard things, but what I have seen us a humble young lad morph into a bejewelled tattooed fast car driving night clubbing 'star'.
He's free to do as he pleases, but the lack of effort on the pitch is unacceptable.
01 Jan 2025 17:55:35
When Rashford was coming through he hitched his wagon to Lingard and Pogba. I wrote for years about the likes of Lingard being incredibly toxic fit for the club. He was a coward on the pitch and a clown off it. Rashford has a huge attitude issue in his inability to actually work hard.
No proper senior pros at the club to shape him when he was raw. Instead it was Beans and JLingz and the banter era. If the rumours are true that Mainoo ripped into him, that's music to my ears. The younger lads should be looking at Rashford as what not to do in your career.
Loan him out in January and get rid in the summer. Best for all parties.
Happy New Year folks!

Don’t know why rashford wanting to leave is big news anyway he’s average on salah type wages the sooner he goes the better for the club
He’s been bang average for years had one good season and then decided to concentrate on off field affairs
Good luck to him but who ever decided he was worth those wages was on some drugs.
01 Jan 2025 18:47:00
I think It all came too quickly for Rashford and in the wrong era. I do sympathize with him. He came into a team that was already on the decline. He must have expected so much, and he must have been so excited to inherit the mantle only to end up on the wrong side of Manchester at a club whose owners and their chosen chief executive had no real ambition other than to sell the club's name for marketing purposes. But I am also critical of his application. The Ronaldo comparisons don't hold up. Ronaldo always toiled to make himself the best. With Rashford one has a sense that he feels all he has to do is score a goal and his work is done. You would never have thought that about Ronaldo when he was 27. Yes, he needs a new challenge, but who is going to offer him an opportunity at his rate of pay? I sense a certain arrogance in his manner. Perhaps when no one comes in, as they clearly didn't in the summer, it will finally dawn on him that he is not quite the catch he thinks he is. If he wants a new start he will have to be prepared to negotiate his ridiculous salary down.
01 Jan 2025 19:37:23
Marcus is now 27 and we keep saying he has potential, unfortunately like Martial he has talent but not the aptitude to consistently succeed at the top.
I think he has looked at Sancho situation and thought that is the best way forward for him, if he drops his wages demands I’m sure we can find a club for him.
01 Jan 2025 19:42:07
The club has been a joke for a while and are the cause of a lot of our problems. however Rashford has been a very good player at times for us and then a liability at others, unfortunately the latter has been the large portion especially in the past few years.
He is a drain on the club from his wages, has been a drain on the club with some of his antics and has not shown that he will adapt to the new style and was not shining in the old.
As he pointed out on the interview, the parting of the ways does not need to be acrimonious and could be best for all concerned. Let his agent and club try and find a buyer now or Sumner and if need be loan to buy.
Let's turn use the funds and PSR benefit to bring better suited players in.
Same for Casimero, Antony, Lindelof and I would even consider Garnacho but given time may adaot.
01 Jan 2025 19:47:12
If / when he is reintegrated to the squad, and if/ when he performs as he should be (I think he also knows his stats are substandard), will people still hate him as much as they do currently?
I see the commentary about working class folk paying hard earned money to watch utd etc, and the same people spouting hatred towards individuals that are not performing.
01 Jan 2025 20:04:09
Jim,
Not sure anyone hates him do they? He just isn’t putting any effort in and if some of the stories are true then he has major issues and probably needs a fresh start and to move away from the area.
01 Jan 2025 22:14:29
Exactly right GSD. Rashford just exudes negativity. He's had enough chances. We need to move on and use whatever we can get for him to rebuild.
