Surely talk of Donarama are rubbish, his wages are 300 + a week, don't think the club going that road anymore.

It feels like his agent tried to maximise his salary after the champions league win, PSG told him where to go and signed a new keeper, and now they’re happy to get rid.

He has always looked like he has everything needed to be a world class keeper aside from his attitude.

Obviously, he’d be a massive upgrade on Onana, but that’s a pretty low bar. Can’t see United paying what he’s asking for. Chelsea? Possibly, but I wouldn’t be surprised with him ending up in Saudi.

Depending on the package, I think he’d be a top signing, but it’ll all come down to wages. Reports suggest that he’s currently on around £200k per week, which I suspect is about as much as we’d want to pay him, so if he’s happy to move to a bigger club and a better league for the same pay packet then there’s absolutely a deal to be done. If he’s demanding a huge pay rise then we should leave him for the Saudis.

The latter would be a shame, as he’d be a huge improvement on what we have and would likely save us a ton of points over the course of a season, but we can’t continue to be that club that attracts players by offering ridiculous wages. It’s just not sustainable in the long run.

I can't see the club going anywhere near his salary especially if he is asking for more than the £200k he is on now. Really good goalkeeper but still has deficiencies.

It does feel more like the media piecing a story together that is not there and more likely we look at a replacement for Bendiya with Onana replaced next year if he does not improve.

If anything, I think it's a loan offer at the end of the window.

Wages will be a problem, but you need to consider the whole package. If we can get a 50m keeper for 20m, then we can justify paying him a higher wage. Maybe we could structure it to be a smaller basic wage than he is looking for but with significant bonuses to bring it up if he performs to the expected level.

Personally I'd rather we sign someone like Lammens this summer and move Bayindir on. Then next summer we can move Onana on and reassess what we need. Has Lammens stepped up and we just need a solid, experienced back up for him. How as Vitek done on loan? Does he deserve a shot as back up or even first choice? Or do we need to sign a top class first choice (in which case Diego Costa would be my pick) .

Donnarumma hasn't quite lived up to his billing, and has had wage disputes follow him throughout his career. It does question whether he values money over which club he plays for. Which for me is something we should be avoiding, especially while attempting a culture reset at the club.
