Not a player I'd sign personally, but it very much depends on why we are signing him.
If he's the only striker we sign the. That's not great. If we sign a top class striker and bring in DCL on a short term deal, that is heavily weighted on performance bonuses with a smaller base salary, as a back up then I don't see much of a problem with that.

Agree with Shappy here, if he used as back up, along with performance or availability structured, I see no problem, he much better than what we have, certainly in the Air, we got no one who can head a ball up front….
So don’t see a downside…….

We should get welbeck over this guy, have you guys not had enough of Onana, Maguire, Sancho. DlC isn't scoring much goals for us. We need a elite striker unless we get Mbuemo to play as a striker.

Shappy why would you sign him regardless he’s injury prone to hell and he’s absolutely garbage, it actually says a lot about a player when Everton ain’t keeping hold of him.
And as a back up don’t make me laugh, go and get Jamie Vardy if you want a back up striker, maybe Andy carrol is available there for back up I do not know why the club would even look at getting him,

Shappy has just come up with his own conditions that have no base in reality, there is no chance he will sign on a short term contract and accept a lower basic wage than he was on at Everton.
If the plan is DCL get used to finishing 15th or lower. We can’t score goals, so the solution to the problem is to get a back up striker that can’t score goals and spends most of his time injured, when we haven’t even signed a starting striker yet. It would be idiotic to sign DCL, in fact it’s so stupid we shouldn’t even be debating it.
The irony being the morons that think DCL is a good idea will be screaming for Amorim to be sacked when we can’t score goals again next season.

Id imagine dcl camp is pushing this story. As a back up on a free i see the reasoning but I'm very sceptical
on this story. I don't think for 1 second they are looking at him being no1 So if rasmus does get a loan or sale then we would be short of back up strikers.

Exactly Ed025, he not great by any means but certainly no worse than Our 2 so called strikers and they cost us millions and millions in fact over 100 million, DCL is free, so why not! He can’t be any worse.
The days of elite strikers wanting to come to our shambles is long gone, DCL will probably turn us down anyway.

Agreed Ed. but we need a starting 11 striker not a back up or back up that’s injured more times than not and hasn’t had 1 half decent season in about 6 years
Tumble we start preseason tomorrow with only 1 player singed, is that signs of a club wanting to improve on a 15th place position?
Doesn’t give off much ambition does it, we’ve been “negotiating” for 2 months nearlly for a player.
They themselves have said they have known for ages what the plan was.
This isn’t just a dig at Ineos as it’s been happening every window for 10 years.
But we all know what’s going to happen.
We will get the 3rd bid rejection to wait till after the first few games of the season to then over pay.
For me they are not showing any ambition for a club wanting to get back to the top, like someone said above those who are calling dcl a decent signing will be the same ones calling for the managers head 6 weeks into the season.
You may aswell keep rashford and play him up top if you’re going to sign low table fodder.

Ok jim before he signed for Juve we made no effort to sign him because the manager didn't want him.
We all like players that the club have no interest in but they will have their reasons for that.
Us being non experts need to understand that our opinions are just that they mean nothing to those doing the job.
We all like random players I want the club to sign oshimen. But what do we know?
So you can zzzz all you like but its a dumb question when we have made no attempt to engage with the player because those in charge don't want him for whatever reason.

I think some people are making the mistake of believing the stories in the press that they don't want to be true and ignoring the ones that they do. We are linked with 100 players every summer, DCL is just another one of them in this case one that the writer knows will get HUGE engagement because of the meltdown it causes. Why are you not posting about all of the great players we have been linked with saying how good they will be for us?
