Worried about the links to Delap, only one season, reminds me of Evan Ferguson, young strong scoring in his first season, but this season, all be it coming back from an injury he hasn't been seen, even went out on loan. I get the reported price 30mill, but we need a more proven CF.

Delap only makes sense if the plans is to sell Hoijlund and bring in a proven goalscorer like Osimhen. But I don’t think that is the plan, and I don’t think Delap would want to go somewhere just to play second fiddle.
I expect he’ll end up at Chelsea and will probably come good for them, but I don’t think we can afford to take that risk.

It's looking more and more like Delap to me.
Just hoping for someone sharp with great instinct, seems to be something that comes with experience which is the worry. I know we haven't always given Rasmus great service, sometimes none, but it's been improving in recent games but he's just a yard off the pace. That slightly better timing and instinct is priceless for a striker.
Vardy anyone? :D.

Think he has proved he is better than what we have but that isn't difficult, could he take the step up? I think probably, but I would prefer him as well as another striker to add options.

If they get Delap he can be second striker only, we still need a quality goalscorer. I like Obi so Delap doesn’t make sense. Maybe Delap and J David who I think is on a free. But we must not get left like we have this season. Last season we struggled for goals and ETH didn’t learn. Buying relegated strikers because they are cheap is a poor strategy.

I'm sure EtH did learn, but asking and getting are two very different things, as Amorim can already testify.

Haven’t seen much of Delap to comment on his ability. But heard plenty of TV pundits praising him.
I would have to agree it’s a huge gamble to rely on him to be the main goalscorer.
But there aren’t many strikers around that are proven and available. Read today that Osihmen is no longer a target.

Surely Obi is second striker, we just need a top proven goalscorer.

I haven't seen enough of Obi to suggest he should be anywhere near the first team, let alone second choice.
Not a criticism of the player, he's clearly very highly regarded but if the Prem is the best league in the world as we keep getting told (which I believe) then the jump up from playing with teenagers every week is immense. I'm happy to him to be 3-4th choice and bulk up and hone his finishing in the background before putting any expectation on him.

He’s only 17 though, can we rely on a 17 year old up top if we get an injury?
