Three points, clean sheet, progress. It's baby steps with this lot so we take our wins when we can and be happy.

That being said, watching Rasmus look like a poor man's Lukaku again, and. Zirkzee neat and tidy but yet ineffective, it frustrates me hugely to se e Rashford acting like a chump still. A switched and and engaged Rashford starts as No9 in that system ahead of those two any day of the week. But, it's clear he does not have it in him anymore.

I read a good post about lowering his asking price. £35-40m and there will be plenty of takers for Rashford thus funding a proper striker for us.

A poor outing but a much needed win with a solid defensive performance.
On Rashford, I feel for a manager who only last week was apologising for a bit of a silly statement post match and saying he needed to think a bit more in the heat of the moment said something equally dumb again. We know Rashford is done but I doubt Sir Jim and co who are frantically trying to shift him on need these types of comments. I agree it’s a bit of fresh air having someone so open for once but I feel he needs to reign it in a tad. Just my opinion, I’m sure others love it.

I'd imagine United would be quite happy to take £40m and get rid of his £15m a year wages for the next 3 1/ 2 years. That's an £85m improvement. The big question isn't what United will take but what another team would be prepared to or could afford to fork out for someone on his wage and with his problematic profile and, quite frankly, limited range.

Reluctantly, I concede the same view. I like Amorim, I think he could navigate well through the choppier waters yet to come, but I think he might need to learn quickly how differently the nuances of given language can be received.

I know management in top-level football is greatly different to the traditional concept of management, but one must always measure a reaction sensibly when dealing with people they're managing/ supervising - especially if one is dealing with an incredibly immature and narcissistic person who consistently tries to challenge authority.

I do lay into Rashford rather more than many others do, but that's because he's a grossly overpaid mouthy bluffer and it boils my piss. However, if I were his manager, I'd put on the professional hat and respectfully tailor my conduct until my limitations, whatever they might be, have lessened.

Hopefully, SJR or one of his lackeys might pull him and explain the need to avoid references to individuals that could be perceived as negative.

Irrespective of the intended context, Rashford wins in this scenario. We've just won a game against a fellow middling team that some might consider a potential turning point, we're apparently hoping to reach an agreement for Dorgu, we're seeing the ascendancy of another gem in Collyer, but no, we'll have Rashford's name being the main topic again because his PR machine has been fed a nice chewy little cookie.

What a wally!

We need to build the rest of the team out. I'm sure amorim is working with scouting team on the tools he needs to get better. We are miles away still and it will not get better without investment.

On rasmus and zirkzee- they are pretty ineffective. Rasmus again was weak in his hold up play - pretty sure he is now being effected by the criticism, just like zirkzee was. Zirkzee is better at coming short and linking play, which is currently our only use for our striker. Neither are getting any service from this formation and these players.

We desperately need width and more attacking play. We also need more pace and creativity from the 10s. While Amad has been one of the few shining lights, he is also not creating for the striker.

I think to play more attacking wide players we need quicker ball playing wide CBs who can play out wide and not get beaten for pace.

We basically need investment all over the pitch, and we also have awful options from the bench. This is a long term project that can only be fixed by change. If we continue to hemorrhage money on debt payments and poor signings and contracts it will be a long way back to the top.

It sounds more to me like he’s trying to provoke some form of a reaction from Rashford. Yet- it’s not come.

I’d rather a manger who has values and demands from his players that he will stick too.

Rashford also harmed his value with his comments to Henry Winter (after he called in sick btw) . It’s a real shame it ended up this way, but what have we seen from Marcus in the last 18 months that warrants much of a fee either?

You come across as an angry person ork ?.

If you read the whole quote, he's referring to any player who doesn't put it all in. Chris Wheeler from the Mail at his games.

Just like he was referring to himself when he said it was the worst Utd team ever lol. It was obvious what he meant, it followed a direct question about Rashford.

For me, talking about Rashford is like stubbing a toe, hopping around until I stomp onto some of that menacing Lego stuff, then enduring the despairing quandary of which foot to hop around on.

???.

Yes nou, but it's all in the same conversation that starts with Rashford.

It is about all players, but we know what he means here. It's within 10 seconds about speaking on an individual.

I'm here for it though, as much as I like Rashford.

I would honestly accept £20-£30m for Rashford. His output for a Striker, who has never hit over 20 goals in the Premier League and in 4 out of the last 5 years scored less than 11 goals, doesn't justify a bigger price.
