While l understand the rotation of players overall the games and giving them each time to impress the manager, hopefully he starts playing his best 11 together The players need time playing together and to implement his style. I hope when the boss gets his 11 and his style working we move up the table. Still believe top 4 is attainable, we need to stop making silly mistakes at the back.

A win this weekend could take us up to 6th, subject to results from other games. We certainly get into the top half with a win. The places under the top 4 are really open this year. A little bit of momentum could get us way up the table quite easily. And if City don't pull their finger out we could even steal top 4 but that is a pipe dream. For now.

I'm looking forward to Amorim settling on a preferred 11 and pressing on with them barring injuries.

We actually go above Bournemouth if we beat them and they are 6th that’s how close it all is, big if though as they did us 3-0 last season so not expecting an easy game.

I’d be surprised if Amorim ever plays the same team 2 games in a row, partly at the moment because I think we only have about 7 or 8 players that are showing they can play the system, the rest of the positions will just be filled by others and he will need to rotate with games coming thick and fast. I think he will be delighted to get 2 midweeks off when the CC semi finals are on, he has been saying he wants time on the training ground and that will be the first time he gets it.

The idea is that every player should be familiar with his intention and be capable of fulfilling their roles within it. If he can get to that point, rotation, which protects the players from excessive physical strain over a long and arduous season, will be the right approach. even if a weaker or younger team will need to be selected on occasion. It's just one of the many aspects of club management that need to change. It should result in fewer injuries overall, and if properly implemented in conjunction with a much improved recruitment system, it should not adversely affect performances over the season.

I never thought I’d be doubting a win against Bournemouth FC but they are one of the surprises packages this season. No superstars, just a really well-drilled outfit who each knows exactly what they’re doing. Like a better version of us :D.

we will win on Sunday. most confident I have been in a long long time. I think we have a great manager and already see a lot of good stuff even though quiet a few of the players are probably not in his long term plans. Wolves away and then nc at home also are wins in my head so expect us to get up there. City away at villa, interesting lol

Given how the pl teams are performing in europe with city being the exception, i think there is very good chance we get 5 cl spots next year.

City lost again. They have injuries and evident without a stacked squad he is unable to get results or even adapt and make changes to get a few results. They are in 23rd place in cl with 2 games left and an away trip to PSG. Interesting 5 months of football ahead. after this weekend they will be 8th in the league imo.

21 Dec 2024 15:57:13
Not sure 8th is likely as would need heavy fulham and brighton wins but it’s certainly an amazing decline to behold, all beginning with Rodri’s injury. Reminds me of Liverpool’s collapse after VvD got a serious injury.

and Arsenal sruggled both without Saliba and then Odegard.

21 Dec 2024 17:42:17
So injuries can cause a team to not do so well? Who'da thunk it.

21 Dec 2024 18:36:46
Seems like shortsighted transfer business for the best team in Europe not to have a contingency plan. Kalvin Philips was born for this moment! Worked out well for him.

Bournemouth are no mugs and Newcastle have hit form so I don't share the optimism Ahmad.

Salford

Home games and both nc and today. I expect us to win both not easy but we will win. Both good teams and in from. We are far far from the finished article but the team fights and runs for this manager and has enough quality to get us over the line. I am the eternal optimist :)

I like his rotation. He’s testing out who is going to be in his plans long term and who will be moved on. It’s a free hit this season. People like Amad have stepped up, grasped his opportunity and likely earned a new deal for his efforts.

People like Rashford have done exactly the opposite, and will be shown the door.

22 Dec 2024 13:20:39
Wonder if we’ll see Rash again? Dropped for 3 games.

22 Dec 2024 16:03:13
What does zirkzee offer to the team? So far he’s been slow, first touch Lukaku-esque, no pace, can’t press. He doesn’t seem to fit into the team. With hojlund the team has more pace, he’s a better finisher and can press. I know he’s going to rotate but boy do we look even worse with zirkzee.

22 Dec 2024 16:55:31
Agreed, I think De Ligt/ Maz/ Ugarte are solid but Zirkzee is a dreadful addition, I don’t see what he offers at all.
