Amorim and AC Milan interested in Martinez for £45M.

I'd reluctantly sell. Great player but often injured and infrequently a liability.

Imagine if he got injured for a prolonged period of time again and the club had turned down £45 million for him......

If this is true, that AC Milan are interested in him at this price, then I'd imagine the club may reluctantly sell him so that those funds can be reinvested.

It would earn the club profit as well, for a player that only has 1 year left on his contract.

Imagine if he doesn't and plays like we know he can? We need him frankly this summer. Next year is maybe a different story.

Def keep him. Can't understand why he is so undervalued by pple.

I'm with you, Salford. We'd be selling him at his lowest price point. He's our best distributor by a distance. When he plays, we're a better side. He and De Ligt are our first choice centre backs. I don't think we can buy a starting level cb for 45M so it's a hard no for me.

I love Martienz as a player, but he is unfortunately very injury prone.

How anyone rates him as a centreback in the EPL is beyond me! I would snatch there hands off for 45miilion and then turn the phones off in case they want a refund

Be interested to know what EDs actually rate Martinez as a CB for the EPL?

{Ed001's Note - doesn't matter if he is any good, too many injuries now to make him worth keeping.}

I'd keep him 100%. He would die for this club. You don't get that often. He is outstanding and a leader. When he plays, he dictates the tempo of the game, and, as we saw the other night, he can put it on a plate with his passing range. Not often you get a cb who can do that.

The best ability is availability, and as much as I love him as a player, he is far too often on the sidelines.

76 league games in 4 years is not great. I love him, but he misses over half the games. If there is a meaty offer on the table, we should take it, same for Mount.

06 Jul 2026 14:09:04
I love his character and attitude. But injured too often, I'd sell.
I think the story is nonsense, as 1st Ugarte, then Mount, and now Martinez have been linked with Amorim and Milan.
I think he is a really good player, but too small to play cb in EPL, imo.
He is batting above his weight, and that's probably what is driving the injuries.

I sell him for 45 million. Heaven is the future in Martinez spot. I like Martinez but it's time to give Heaven regular games. Personally I'm looking to move Martinez and De Ligt on. Heaven and Yoro need to be our centre-backs with Maguire as backup. No point keeping Heaven or Yoro around if you keep playing Martinez and De Ligt.

£45M in now would easily finance a replacement. Whoever came in would have the transfer fee accounted for over the contract term.

£45M, £65M on Lacroix. Decent business.

Shane88, Heaven is a good player but can you not see how much better Martinez is in possession than any of our other CBs.
