Lewis Hall signing a new 5-year deal with Newcastle….that's him out the window then! Yes he can still be sold but this contract protects his value and ensures Newcastle get top £ for him. Top money that I highly doubt we will pay…. Unfortunate as I think he could have been our lb for many years to come!

The grand strategy of waiting until next season because Newcastle's valuation was too high doesn't seem that clever now.
I'm sure that the usual suspects will say that there are other left backs we could bring.
But we could have brought them in this summer too.
On one hand, the club is telling us that they'd rather wait to bring in their top targets.
Yet, on the other hand, they never seem to be willing to stump up the cash for their top targets, and plump for a cheaper alternative anyway.
Seems like a bit of smoke and mirrors to deflect from an unwillingness to spend what's needed to compete for titles.

Newcastle had sold two players for a lot of money. He had a contract, so I'd say they didn't want to sell. End of. Move on.

I don't think he is the best full back in the world, and I don't think he ever has a chance of being that.
I don't think he is the best lb in the league.
Lots who watched the Newcastle v Bournemouth match said Truffert was the best lb on the pitch.
I'd agree with that.
He is not a very good defender, but good on the ball and going forward. He has lots to learn and improve upon. A bit like Fernandes, he is badly overrated by the social media and emotional fans that cling on to every dream like it's the one that will provide the solution.

He is a good player. Better than Hall at the moment imo.
