Hall excellent again, really wish we pushed for him as he could have been our lb for the next few years. Decent going forward and excellent defensively also. Maybe next year. ??

Yeah Tim, he had a super game, I thought.
Good game to watch.

He really does look impressive, and I'm sure there'll be a lot more suitors than just us next summer. Shout out to Newcastle, who look a decent outfit. Lots of egos out the door, but everyone is doing their job and working hard for the team.

Lovely player.

I think they have left Hall for next year. He will be two years away from contract expiry, and if he lets them know he won't sign an extension, they will look to get the maximum amount for him rather than let him run the contract down.

I think Hall will stay for one more year and move next summer. But, I don't think it will be to United. I can see him going back to Chelsea.

Newcastle could finish above Utd this season. Would he really want to leave if he is playing European football and Utd aren't?

I think we will do a "Baleba" with him and go back next summer and sign him. Which probably means we don't sign a lb this summer, certainly not a big-name starting option. Maybe a young up and coming, cheaper option like Salinas or Seys, but only if we sell Amass in my opinion.
If the aim is to spend 60-70m on Hall next summer, then that is to be the guaranteed first choice, which means we are looking for a backup lb this summer at most.
But if we have Amass and Dorgu on the books, then they can fulfill that role (especially as Dorgu might find game time harder to come by at lw with Rashford and Cunha at the club).
We also have Dalot and Mazraoui who can play there in a pinch, if needed.
I know this won't be popular with most fans, but sometimes it's better to keep your powder dry.
The general consensus from fans seems to be spend every penny on new players regardless. They just want shiny new toys.
But if we can't get the right ones, then it's money wasted, as well as leaving us with a player who has signed a long term contract, who isn't right for the club, but who we might struggle to move on once they've "flopped".
Personally, I feel that with Zirkzee almost certain to leave now that a new cf, a natural striker, is more important. Hopefully Shaw is fit for 60% or more of our games, and Amass and Dorgu can fill in.
But when Sesko isn't available, we lose having that central figure up top as the other options aren't natural cf's.
