Really saddened by the news today of 2 Liverpool legends and indeed British footballing legends in Kenny Dalglish and Kevin Keegan facing a battle against a cancer diagnosis.
I wish them both well. 2 great football adversaries but also 2 great professionals also who have the respect of most footballing fans around the world for their achievements.
Good luck gents in your battle, you both showed great tenacity in your professional life and I'm sure you will show the same fight to try and beat this awful disease.

I completely agree. I guess the youngsters will only remember them as Managers and not as the great players they were.
Keegan won 3 League titles and a European Cup, before going to Hamburg in '77, and then winning the Ballon d'Or in '78 and '79.
Dalglish won 6 First Division and 3 European Cups at Liverpool.
Amazing players, I wish them well.

Totally agree, Ken, fine, fine players and significant adversaries.
'I'd love it' if they get through their ordeals with success.

Agree. At times like this, tribal rivalries are irrelevant. Always respected both players' talent on the field, and Dalgliesh even more for how he was after the terrible tragedy Liverpool supporters suffered during his tenure as manager.

John Barnes now too... Thoughts and best wishes to all 3. Absolute legends no matter where your allegiances lie. ?
