Time will tell. Martinez prob the best short term option but if this guy is as good as advertised then it’s a great bit of business. Just hope Amorim plays him and doesn’t continue with the clowns just because of their ‘experience’.

Gotta wait and see grim but one thing is for certain some people will only see the negatives.

If it was between him or Marines then yes. But I still think we should have signed Ederson or pushed hard for Donarruma before City started sniffing around.

Tima alone will tell Grim. Put it this way, he needs to hit the ground running. Any early gaffes and the press will be on it. He's young and will need tough skin. Fingers crossed for him.

The reality is that the club bought a player for the future when that’s a luxury we cannot afford. The biggest issue with our defence is that the defenders can’t trust the keeper. Bringing in an established, proven keeper with a strong personality would have been the best way to solve this. Instead, it’s a young, inexperienced player being dropped into a pressure cooker. Type of risky decision we take far too often.

Same issue with Sesko. Clearly going to be a challenge for him to cope with the pressure of his role, and putting that much responsibility on young players can ruin their future potential.

Put him straight in? I think I'd get the next few games out of the way. We're not fixing all of our issues this season so give the lad a chance.

Known as the baby courtois apparently…. i'd be very happy with that.

What would belaba or wharton be then Danny? Players for the future.

Players that have proven their ability to play in the EPL, Ken.

It is a completely different situation regardless. Keepers are the foundation of a winning team. If they make a mistake, their error will directly lead to a goal. Our keepers struggle to go a single game without making these types of errors. The club needed to bring in an experienced, proven keeper to stabilise the defence.

For me, the two highest pressure positions in a team are keeper and striker. These are the players that are expected to score goals and keep goals out. I think that after finishing in the bottom quarter of the table, the club should have recognised that experience was needed in these positions. Instead, they’ve gone for potential over proven, and I remain unconvinced that either our new keeper or striker can shoulder this level of pressure.
