I genuinely can see Gyokeres not living up to the hype. Especially at Arsenal. The way they play they just have no knowledge how to utilise a striker it seems. I know it's two games and pre season but unless that squad is properly coached throughout the season I can't see how they use him to his strengths.

He will get chances and be a consistent scorer for them. Nowhere near as much as he did in Portugal, but I would expect him to get close to 20 in the league alone. Arsenal will adapt, and he is a goal scorer.

And we are brilliant at utilising strikers eh!

I think he does well at Arsenal, he will be up their for the Golden Boot over next few years.

Arsenal make plenty of chances and he will score plenty. Just takes time to get used to each other.

It’s always a gamble brining in a player from the Portuguese league as the low standards there can make anybody look amazing, but I do think he’ll come good. My guess is we’ll see him score 30+ in all competitions this season, although am hoping that it takes him a few more games to get up and running.

Not a chance he gets 30+ he will be very lucky to get to 20 in the EPL.

I think early 20s for him. He's up against a different level of defenders but we're still talking about a side that should comfortably be making CL at least and creating a sackload of chances most games.

The issue I think he will have is whether Arteta will change how they play to suit Gyökeres or not.

I'm inclined to think that he won't.

Gyökeres is great when you focus your attack through him. When you look to play him in as quickly as possible. He makes a huge number of runs, which is great for the guys behind him as it makes a lot of space in front of the defence as he pulls them back. While to get the most out of him you need to play those passes early and let him get on the end of them.

Yet that seems to be the opposite of how Arteta wants his team to play. He wants lots of possession ending with a tap in from 5 yards. A team with lots of midfield possession and dominance, in the same mold as he played.

Gyökeres will regularly make the runs but it will be players like Saka, Odegaard, and Eze if they sign him that will benefit most from that with them finding more space to play in and possibly being the guys to score because of it. He might help improve them as a team while being seen as a bit of a flop because he doesn't score as many goals as people expect.

He had Abumeyang at the club who was a run in behind and stretch the play striker, but he kicked him out pretty quickly. The players he has signed to play as the CF have been Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, neither are in behind players but guys who like to drop deeper and link play in front of the defence.

Gyökeres marks a real change in recruitment, which unless matched with a change in style of play will likely lead to him not being as successful as a signing as he should be.
